Paper Players 127–Blue Valentine

DSCF1901

Happy Sunday everyone!  It’s good to be back playing with the Paper Players—we have a new set of guest designers and I am sure you’ll be thrilled and inspired by their creations!  Ann is our hostess this week and here is her challenge:

Lots of ideas for this theme!  I chose to do a Valentine, but in a non-traditional color scheme!

PP127-LeAnne

I found this beautiful blue DP that matched SU’s Midnight Muse perfectly, and used my favorite go-to layout on a Sahara Sand base, adding some embossing to the top panel as well as some crochet lace and velveteen ribbon.  And since I had some canvas left from this project, I used my Heart Framelits to cut out a heart, which I also stamped:

To give the canvas heart stability, I used a square of Multi-Purpose Adhesive sheet adhered to a square of scrap cardstock and cut it with the same heart framelit, then adhered it to the back of the canvas heart.  It gave me a better base on which to stamp, and it kept its shape when I attached it to my card!  The stamped image doesn’t transfer very clearly, but I love the “dreamy” effect it gives! I also ran my Tombo glue over the edge and sprinkled it with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter! Love it! I finished it off with a banner sentiment and a lovely pearl!

Please come play along with the Paper Players---you’ll definitely feel the love in the air!  And remember, if you have any questions about anything used in my project, just shoot me an email….my address is at the top right, here in my blog!

Dana got this silly gorilla stuffed animal many years ago, and Cassidy was putting it to bed:

Not sure who’s sillier…Cassidy or the gorilla!

Wow LeAnne - I love EVERYTHING about this card. My favorite color is blue so that appealed right away. I love the look of the stamped canvas, the mix of embossed card stock with designer paper and that lace/ribbon/pearl combo! And let's not forget a little bling on the heart! Fabulous card!!

Cassidy is such a cutie pie! I just love seeing what she's up to and with her silly gorilla, this photo really brings on the smiles.

The Valentine is absolutely wonderful! I hope you don't mind if I play copy-cat and use your card as inspiration to create a Valentine on canvas of my own. I discovered ATC size canvas and have yet to use them (because I wasn't sure how! lol)

This is a beautiful card. I love that it is blue. You are so clever. And the canvas heart is wonderful. I just got some canvas. I love the way it took your ink. Is that the new SU ink?
Darling pictures of busy little Cassidy. I am sure she is the one that is sillier.

Oh my, LeAnne this is absolutely gorgeous. I love the soft vintage feel of this card -- love the blue & white (or is it cream) and love the heart. I'm glad the image didn't stamp really clearly because this way it just adds to the whole vintage (or dreamy as you called it) feel. I will want to CASE this one for sure;)
It's so much fun to see Cassidy's antics. Thanks for sharing her with us.

Just gorgeous, LeAnne! I really like the soft blue and the canvas heart. The sprinkle of sparkle adds such a fun finishing touch. Cassidy is too cute with her little gorilla buddy. :)

Oh my goodness, the texture on this is amazing! Velveteen, canvas, lace and embossing are all fabulous together. Love your non-traditional colors and stamping on canvas is the perfect look!

Cassidy is adorable as is her cute gorilla! Your card is remarkable...lovely - blue is one of my most favorite colors so I'm happy to see it used in this way. My question is where did you find that most beautiful DSP? Thank you!

I saw this card yesterday and tried to leave a comment. Must have hit the wrong key. Anyway, I love this. I actually changed my mind about a class later in the week and CASEd this instead. Hope you don't mind. The ladies will love it!
