Merry Monday 46

DSCF2358

Happy Monday!  We made it through the weekend….brrrr, it’s sure cold here in PA!  Let’s warm up by thinking Christmas!!!  It’s time for another Merry Monday challenge, and this week’s is a theme!

Oooh, I LOVE birds, and this challenge fit perfectly with the Jingle Belles challenge this week, too, which is Scandinavian Christmas:

Squeal!!!  Love it!  So here we go:

MM46-LeAnne

Looks a bit like a Valentine’s card, doesn’t it?  But the image is from a retired winter mini hostess set called Northern Hearts; I added a little “joy” at the bottom and “noel” just to make sure everyone knows it’s NOT a Valentine’s, LOL!  The gingham is computer-generated; the embossed panel is SU’s Delicate Designs; the felt hearts are cut from a die, and the stitched ribbon is from SU as well.  Such a clean, crisp feel, I love it!  Of course, I added some pearls for fun:

And since I love birds so much, I made another card using the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

This one uses a beautiful embossing folder (thanks, Carol!) and a bird sticker:

I even used some of the packaging to make the little background piece!!

I hope you’ll play along with us this week at Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper, where you’ll find the other beautiful bird-themed Christmas cards from our designers!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Both cards are great. The first one didn't look like Valentines until you said it and I love the bird on the second one.

It is very cold here too and I have to go to the store and post office.:(
Beautiful cards LeAnne. I love the red and the the birds. That Holly embossing folder is very cool and I love the white doily boarder on the firs one. Is that a die cut?
Stay warm!

When I saw the Jingle Belles challenge, this is the image I immediately thought of. It's perfect! And you get 2 thumbs up for the CAS(E) this Sketch! Sweet image and I love the way you stacked the pieces. Wish I'd thought of that!

Both cards are beautiful LeAnne - but I really love the whole Scandinavian Christmas theme you've created for your first card. I've never seen that stamp set but you've used it perfectly and I would never've thought about it being a Valentine's card.
