New Catty Stuff and Valentine RAKs

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, the weekend is almost here!  I am planning to bundle up and stay warm...it's supposed to be super-duper cold here in PA!  Yikes!

I have a couple of cards to share using products from the Occasions catalog...I have had a lot of fun playing with these sets!  The first one is a little notecard using Love You Sew (hostess only), stamped in Real Red, Watermelon Wonder and Cameo Coral:

How simple and easy is that?  And this one uses the new Balloon punch and Large Numbers dies, along with Watermelon Wonder DSP:

I used words from Endless Birthday Wishes, and the "th" is from Little Numbers.  I added some white dots on my "5" with a white gel pen.  And here's the inside, using confetti from Love You Sew as well as a sentiment from Perfect Pairings:

And finally, I want to share some lovely creations sent to me by my creative friends!  This gorgeous vintage-styled creation is from Linda Hultquist:

This one is from my Paper Players teammate Sandy Mathis:

And this confection is from Shelley Germann:

And to top it off, Shelley knows I love vintage Valentines (vintage anything, really), and she sent me this pristine Valentine as a little gift!  Wheeeee!  I just love it!  And since DH was in the Navy, it means even more!  Isn't it adorable!  I will treasure this one for sure!

And DH still has time for Cassidy to sit on his lap and read to her!!  You can tell she's getting a wee bit bigger...she almost doesn't fit!

Enjoy your day and have a great weekend!

Oh Scrap!

Hey peeps!  Just a quick card today, no challenge, just playing with all the SCRAPS on my desk!  Are you inundated with them like I am?  I collected a few that seemed to complement each other, punched them out with a 3/4" square punch and adhered them to a note card.  Stamped a sentiment from Fabulous Four and it was done!

These colors just make me happy!

A little later, I decided to add some baker's twine....which one do you like better?

Continuing on with Cassidy's hairdressing obsession, she combed Mommy's hair while Mommy laid face down on the floor....whatever!

And here's the turban-style end result!

And she even gave Grampy a bit of a comb-out, too!  LOL!

Thanks for visiting today!

HS 231, CCMC392 and INKspire Me 235 Shabby Valentine

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have one more Valentine for you....our time is winding down, it will be here before we know it!  I chose to do a shabby chic one, after seeing this stunning creation from Beth Beard on Pinterest!  It just happens to fulfill the challenges from IN(K)spire Me and Hand Stamped Sentiments:

And it's also a go for the Create With Connie and Mary challenge this week too (thanks, Joanne)!!

CCMC392

And here we go:

I used papers from Love Blossoms, distressing them with a sponge dauber and Chocolate Chip ink; a white doily; some Rose Red seam binding that I "shabbied" up; a Blushing Bride glimmer paper heart, and a banner from Endless Thanks, stamped in Rose Red.  I isolated the word "love" from a Good Greetings sentiment with my Rose Red marker to stamp in the center, and added a couple of stamped hearts from last year's Paper Pumpkin Valentine set.  The final addition was a couple of vellum hearts; I embossed a scrap of vellum with the Happy Hearts embossing folder, then fussy-cut them out, adhered them behind the banner and added pearls.

I used another sentiment from Good Greetings on the inside and added a couple more hearts!  Thanks for visiting today!

We had a bit more snow yesterday than I anticipated and although it didn't really stick on the paved surfaces, Cassidy insisted on shoveling....she didn't even want to go sledding (so I did!!!).

She did make a snow angel:

and gave up the sled in favor of her bum!

Enjoy your day!

Valentines X Two

Happy Tuesday, peeps....a wee bit more snow today, not a lot, but enough to make me want to stay inside and be cozy!  I made a couple of simple Valentines yesterday....the first is pretty traditional, and it was inspired by Teneale's sketch here, using some Love Blossoms DSP:

The cupid image is from my favorite, but sadly retired, Valentine set, P.S. I Love You....stamped him in Rose Red and fussy-cut him out and attached him to a little banner of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.  The "love" diecut is from Simon Says Stamp, called Small Love You:

I am entering this in the Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge of "Love"!

SIP Challenge 34 - Love 800

The second card uses a non-Valentine stamp set, the hostess set Love You Sew from the Occasions catalog, along with some Melon Mambo cardstock and ink and Everyday Chic DSP:

I just had so much fun stamping all those little stitched lines on the front!! Wheeee!  And on the inside:

That's a good Valentine message, dontcha think?  Love it too!

Here's my little Valentine, sorting out Scrabble letters with Mommy:

Enjoy your day!

MTS110 For Brad's Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps!  Today is my nephew Bradley's 22nd birthday, so I thought I would use this fun sketch from Match The Sketch for his card:

I didn't get to use Thankful Forest Friends too much last season, and when I saw these fun papers from Authentique's Nestled Collection, I knew they would be a match:

Just check out those cute little faces on that paper:

I stamped the fox in Cajun Craze and cut him out and popped him up; the sentiment (past Paper Pumpkin kit) was stamped in Cajun Craze and Early Espresso, along with the little lines from SAB's Hello in Tip Top Taupe.  The card base is Tip Top Taupe also, and I stamped Hardwood in Sahara Sand on it for the background.  He likes to hunt and his family lives in a cabin in the woods, so hopefully he'll enjoy it!   And here's the inside:

Perfect for a 22YO!  I don't have a current photo of Brad (he has a full beard now), but here's one from a little while back with Dana at a family wedding:

And here he is, playing with Cassidy back before we built the garage:

He's a great guy and I hope he has a great birthday!

Paper Players 281 Dogs and Cats

Happy Sunday, all!  Are you watching the Super Bowl today?  DH will be, but I will probably be knitting or sewing or something....until Downton Abbey comes on, anyway!  Today is my turn to host the Paper Players challenge, and I've chosen the theme of "Raining Cats and Dogs"....to use a dog or cat on your creation!

I have always liked this little quartet of kitties from 100 Proof Press, and although I am not sure about the papers I chose, I'm sticking to it:

They are from the Simple Stories "I Am" line....fun colors together!  The word-printed paper is the opposite of the black floral, and it gave me a wide enough piece on which to stamp my kitties and color them in with some So Saffron ink and a blender pen.  The sentiments are from Lil'Inker's Rainbow and Cloud sentiments, all stamped in Basic Black:

Isn't that little calico one cute?   I used the sketch by my sweet friend Linda from Pals Paper Arts 286:

PPA-286-Feb04

Strawberry Slush was used for the diagonal piece, and I did a little piercing on it, and gave my stamped image a double mat of So Saffron and Bermuda Bay.  The final touch was a stitched heart and some baker's twine.

I hope you can find some dog and/or cat stamps in your stash and play along with my challenge this week!  See the cute creations that our DT made:

Thanks for popping by today! And here are some more "hair-styling" photos:

What a look!

AYSI122 Hello and Thank You

Hey, everyone!  Hope you're having a great Saturday!  I squeezed in some crafty time...can't say stamping time, because I didn't stamp a thing on either of these two cards for As You See It's sketch challenge:
AYSIChallenge122

I had this really cute heart paper from Authentique, and although I probably wouldn't use it for a Valentine's card, it would suit for other occasions.  Did some diecutting and added some embellies, and here we go:

Both used retired Bordering Blue cardstock for the base, with mats of Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze and diecuts of Chocolate Chip.  I added some ribbon on one and a button and linen thread on the other.  I just love the "knit" feel of these little hearts:

Thanks for visiting today!  I don't have any pix of Cassidy, but I just snagged these quick photos of a yellow-bellied sapsucker (you're probably sick of seeing him) and a nuthatch:

and a gorgeous sunset from last week out across the back field:

Be sure to pop back tomorrow as I'll be the hostess for the Paper Players!  Enjoy!
