Merry Monday 125

DSCF4980

Happy Monday, peeps!  I trust you had a good weekend!  Debbie is our challenge hostess this week at Merry Monday, and check out the fun theme she’s chosen:

My first instinct was to use a vintage digital image, but I couldn’t find one that I liked!  Then I thought I would use Loads of Love, but I thought it might get used a lot and I wanted something different.  In the end, I went with a WHEEL….can you believe it?!  The name of it is Time for a Tree, and it has the same feel as Load of Love, but is a wee bit cuter, I think:

I inked up the wheel in Black Stazon, then just colored them in with markers—so fun and easy, I felt like I was back in the early days of my SU demo-ship!  The paper is from a big 6x6 stack from DCWV, and I just stamped directly onto the paper, then mounted it on a Marina Mist card.  I added some sparkly get pen to the little snowflakes too, just for fun, and added a big felt snowflake and a glimmer brad next to my MFT sentiment.

And tell me you can’t read this without getting that song in your head, LOL!!!  And since Linda’s Catered Crop challenge this week is “New Again”, and I used an old wheel, I am entering it there as well!

I hope you’ll play with us at the Merry Monday this week….Christmas will be here before you know it, so it’s a great way to get a head start on those cards!

The morning that Cassidy broke her wrist, we made homemade play-doh, coloring it blue, green and yellow:

She made some cookies and a “cake” and we took it to the patio for a snack!

Paper Players 212

DSCF5012‘

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Ann is our hostess for the Paper Players today….and what a great challenge she’s come up with!  I LOVE fall!  It’s right behind Christmas as my favorite crafting time of the year!  Although yesterday did NOT feel fallish, today is much better!  A lovely almost-fall day!  So let’s see what I came up with!

I just got the new Curvy Keepsake box die….and OH MY GOSH, I am having so much fun with it!  These little things are all over blogland, so I am not going to give credit to any one individual, but there are lots of creative ideas out there!  I chose to do two pumpkins, one a traditional orange and the other, a neutral one…not sure what those kind of pumpkins are called:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 212 Curvy Keepsake Box Pumpkins

I have to say this is my favorite one!  I used Natural Ivory cardstock for the pumpkin itself, stamping it with Sahara Sand using Gorgeous Grunge.  I then stamped two Pear Pizzazz Flower Patch leaves with Craft White ink and diecut them with the matching Flower Fair die.   I folded them in half and crimped them to give them some texture.  I cut separate “stems” from Crumb Cake and just tapped them on my Sahara Sand ink pad for some “texture”.  I used one of the tags from the die set and stamped the sentiment from And Many More, then tied it all up with Crochet Trim and Linen Thread.

The orange pumpkin is cut from Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Pear Pizzazz cardstocks, but I ran the pumpkin through the Woodgrain EF, then sponged it for some depth.  The leaves are also from Flower Patch, stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.  I used another sentiment from And Many More, diecutting it with the Itty Bitty Banner die, and tying it with gold baker’s twine, letting it unravel (which it does anyway!!!).

I had a ton of fun creating these little boxes and can’t wait to fill them with some goodies!  I hope you’ll stop by the Paper Players blog to see what all the designers created this week:

Thanks go out to everyone who prayed for Cassidy and sent her well wishes when she broke her wrist.  Here she is with her new pink cast…I won’t see her again until Tuesday, and I imagine she’ll have it decorated with some Frozen stickers and autographs!

Hello peeps!  A quick post today, lots of stuff to do!  The Paper Craft Crew challenge had an interesting sketch this week:

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #108 for September 3, 2014. #stampinup #cardchallenge #papercraftcrew

and it gave me a chance to use some of my Gold Soiree paper for the first time:

I admit that this card seems a bit busier than my usual style!  I stamped the main panel twice…..first in Cameo Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe, then I did another one in Crisp Cantaloupe and Blushing Bride, but I kept coming back to the original, darker one…..so that’s what I went with!  I used Hello Darling for my images, and I also used the striped circle for the two lower elements.  A sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts seemed to fit just perfectly!  The final touch was some pearls.

I originally had planned to use some different photos for today’s post, but we had a little mishap at my brother’s house yesterday…the kids were all playing at the playhouse, swinging, sliding and climbing the monkey bars, and Cassidy took a bit of a risk and ended up breaking her wrist!!  A trip to the ER, and four hours later:

It’s splinted right now, she’ll go to the orthopedic surgeon to have a real cast put on it today.  She really was doing better than this photo suggests….she and Mommy were making sad faces!  A little Motrin did wonders!!!  Grammy feels a wee bit bad that it was on her watch, but we know these things happen!  Have a great day!

Happy Thursday, everyone!  The Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch this week was nice and simple:

and I wanted to use some of my new goodies from the Holiday catalog:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Festival of Trees Stampin Up Christmas

I used Soft Sky cardstock on a Whisper White base, with the new All is Calm Washi tape. This washi tape has a pretty silver sheen to it….can’t see it here, but it’s very chic!   I stamped a pretty tree from Festival of Trees in Encore Silver ink and punched it out with the new Tree punch---I love this punch!  I then punched a second tree in Brushed Silver cardstock and layered it behind; I used the hostess set Good Greetings to add my sentiment in Lost Lagoon.

A little splash in the creek behind our house:

Soon, it will be too cool to play in the water….autumn is coming!  Enjoy your day!

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It’s been a while since I’ve done a vintage-style card, and when the Make It Monday challenge at The Kraft Journal featured “ruffles”, I knew what I wanted to do!  Here you go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Dictionary Everything Eleanor Stampin Up

I started with a card base of Lost Lagoon and stamped the Dictionary background stamp on it, sponging the edges for some depth.  I stamped the Dictionary stamp again, this time with Versamark ink,  within a little mask on a panel of Crumb Cake.  I sprinkled on Clear EP, heated it up, then sponged some craft white ink.  I added images from Kinda Eclectic and Everything Eleanor in Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand and Stazon Black.
For the “ru
ffle”, I punched a piece of Naturals Ivory with the eyelet punch, then distressed it with my bone folder and separated the fibers to create a thinner, more rustic piece of paper.  I crimped it, pleated it and then sewed it to my card.  I sewed a little piece of ribbon; added some Sweet Sadie washi tape, a couple of punched butterflies and finished it with a Very Vintage designer button.  The “So Thankful” sentiment is from Project Life’s Holiday Cheer.  I love these colors together!!!

I am also entering this in the Shopping Your Stash challenge this week, which is to use your crimper!

A cereal box gives you a different view of things:

And I thought you might like to see what greeted me the other morning when I went outside:

DSCF4885-001

I DO NOT like spiders, but I know they are good to have in the garden, so I just leave them alone!!!  This one caught some sort of bug right as I was taking the first photo, and a few hours later, this is what it looked like….all wrapped up!

DSCF4896

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It’s time for another ColourQ challenge!  Look at this luscious palette Arielle has for us today:

I went searching for a sketch and found this one from the Technostamper site:

Cute, huh? I had some papers in my plethora of 6x6 pads to match the challenge colors, and came up with this:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ257 Flower Patch Stampin Up

I used images from the Flower Patch set and another sentiment from And Many More…..it’s just such a versatile set, I just keep it on my desk!  I haven’t used that Modern Label punch for a while, and it works great on these sentiments!

DSCF4897

I added some pearls, ribbons and little punched scallop trim and mounted on an embossed Strawberry Slush card.  Hope you’ll play along with us this week!  There are some awesome samples from the designers, so be sure to check them out for some extra inspiration!

A few pictures from a picnic we attended yesterday:

And here’s one for you to try next year….a “devilled egg” cake!  It was hysterical!  And no, it wasn’t solid frosting on top….a little cake covered in yolky-looking icing!!!  LOVED it!

Merry Monday 124

DSCF4884

Happy Merry Monday, happy first of September, happy Labor Day!  How can it be the first of September already?!  Yikes!  Where did the summer go? At any rate, Deanne is our Merry Monday hostess today with a fun challenge:

I used the sketch from Match the Sketch this week:

to make my simple Christmas card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 124 Christmas

My papers are from the Authentique line, Two Christmases in One. I made a “present” from one of the papers, added a ribbon and Lil’Inker diecut bow, doing some additional stamping on the solid papers.

DSCF4883

My sentiment is from My Favorite Thing’s Seasonal Sentiments; I also added some little hologram stickers for a little shine!

I hope you’ll play along with our wonderful challenge this week at the Merry Monday!  Be sure to check out the other designers’ creations as well!
