PP758 Trick or Treaters

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Claire is our wonderful Paper Players hostess this week and she has a fun challenge for us:

How cute is this!!!  I pulled out a really old SU stamp--this was in the first catalog I ever had--1999!  It fit Claire's challenge perfectly, and gave me a chance to do some watercoloring (okay, a LOT of watercoloring!)....here we go:

I know this whimsical style of artwork isn't as popular as it used to be, but I still love it!  I stamped these little trick-or-treaters in Black Stazon ink and used lots of colors of ink to color them in:

They were mounted on a piece of purple plaid paper from Honey Bee, which was diecut with the Stitched With Whimsy die; I added a diecut sentiment, a little spider web, and I even pulled out a little black bat brad that I have had forever!  Here's the inside sentiment---and it's actually the name of the set:

I wonder if anyone else remembers this set?  How far back does your stamping collection go?  I am showing my age for sure, LOL!  Anyway, I hope you have some Halloween costumes in your stamp collection and you'll use it over at the Players for our challenge this week!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

LeAnne, this is just as cute as it can be - totally my style of artwork and it should never go out of style! You water colored it beautifully and added just the right number of tricks and treats!
Costumes?? Oh boy I'm not sure I have anything that fits that theme, but I'll try!
LOve the purple plaid!

Oh gosh your card is so sweet! My first catalogue was also 1999! I never had this particular set but I've got a couple others with those line drawing figures. And I still have the first chalks I used to color them with. I do still love using a wood-mount stamp. You really know you are STAMPING! And can apply good pressure. Ahhhh, the good old days!

Hi LeAnne - I don't remember this set, but it looks great on your fun card. I do remember the one you used last week of the boy pulling a wagon. It's one of my all time fav images - so glad to see it again! Love your coloring!

This trio of trick-or-treaters is as cute as can be, and so perfect for Claire's challenge. I never owned this set...I wasn't stamping or doing Stampin' Up! until 2007, but had I, I know I would have bought this set. It's adorable. I LOVE your coloring. Of course, you had me with the purple plaid paper. Have a wonderful week!

Such a cute card, LeAnne! I love the purple plaid paper and you did a great job watercoloring your trick-or-treaters. I think my first SU! catalog was 2004 or 2005, and I still have the stamps I bought back then, though I did unmount them a while back to save storage space. I love to pull an old favorite out to play again!

LeAnne, this is the BEST! Your trio of trick-or-treaters made me smile! Your watercoloring is fabulous and you know those red shoes on the witch stole my heart. This set is definitely a keeper. The purple plaid and the inside sentiment is perfect! Have a great week, My Friend!

Love this!!! Your watercoloring is beautiful!! The first stamp set I ever bought was in the mid-90's. It was the teddy bear set. I ordered it from a workshop that my MIL hosted for a friend. I didn't stamp for awhile after that. Then in 2003 I got into for real ...big time! hahaha!!

What a sweet trio LeAnne - and watercoloured beautifully too! I love the purple plaid background - complete with spooky cobweb detail. I can totally understand why you kept this stamp set - I don't have anything that goes back that far, I think my oldest set goes back to 2010!

It's like traveling down memory lane, seeing those cute trick-or-treaters, LeAnne! (my first catalogue wasn't until 2007 but there was still similar artwork) Your watercoloring is so beautiful and I love the purple plaid in the background. Super fun card!

LeAnne, this is adorable. Your little trio are just too sweet! I love the plaid DSP and how you tied it to one of the costumes. The touches of black are perfect and I love how used that little touch of ribbon behind the sentiment.
