Happy Tuesday, peeps! I was definitely challenged by the colors at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week:
I admit that Darling Duckling is not one of my favorite colors....I might have used it one time since it came out! But a challenge is a challenge, so here we go:
I pulled out some older plaid DSP; truthfully, the color in it is Island Indigo, but I thought it was close enough to Pretty Peacock to work! I diecut some Impression Obsession wheat sheaves in Darling Duckling and Timid Tiger, sponging a little ink on each one to give it a little more depth. They went on an Everyday Arch diecut that was embossing with the Burlap embossing folder from Honey Bee. The sentiment was an old Hostess set called Six Sayings, and it was fussy cut and popped up, and I did add a few sequins as well:
The inside sentiment is from the new set called Words for the Season:
And speaking of seasons, it's the season for the Solanco Fair! Dana and I were amazed at this amazing 530-lb pumpkin!!! It won, obviously!
There was also a big cow (just an advertisement):
And this was my favorite submission in the photo contest; sadly, it didn't win any ribbons, but it was a winner in my book:
Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

I'm not a huge fan of Darling Duckling either, but it looks great on this card! My SIL, Joel Wiggins, won 1st and 3rd place with two crochet projects at the Solanco Fair!! He started crocheting a few years ago as physical therapy for his hand after a motorcycle accident. He does beautiful work!
I love your card! The arrangement & the colors are very pretty. I agree with you on Darling Duckling…not one of my fav colors kinda like Wild Wheat. How fun to spend time with Dana. Love the cow & the dog picture sh hv won, hands down! Have a great week! Huggs from still-steamy Florida
What? Who couldn't love a color called 'darling duckling?' lol I like it, LeAnne and how you've found a subtle way to add it along with the timid tiger and the fun wheat die!
btw if you ever 'yard sale' that darling striped sweater I'll come back! =]
Such pretty wheat and I'm not sure about the duckling color either, but you made it look really good and it's a good color for wheat! That's some pumpkin!
You might not like darling duckling, but it looks great on your cute card! Cute photo of you and Dana too!
I ran out of Daffodil Delight and decided to use Darling Duckling instead. I'm not totally sure that's the right move but it's saving me money...lol! Your fussy cutting skills are magnificent and I love the style of the sentiment. I agree about the dog photo and your sweater. I Card Everyone will have to fight me for it :-) Your daughter is a beauty. The apple didn't fall far from the tree!
These colours are a challenge for sure LeAnne but you totally nailed it - I love this! Those bold wheat stems and the plaid - fabulous! Love the fussy cut sentiment too. As for the ginormous show pumpkin - what a whopper!
I agree, Darling Duckling is not my favorite yellow, but I do love a good challenge! You succeeded with the colors for sure. I love the plaid paper, the textured arched background and the scroll lettering. All very, very lovely together!! Thanks for playing along with us at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
