FMS705 Autumn Mists

Happy Thursday, peeps! The FMS sketch this week is fabulous---three elements, you know I love things in threes!

I could make a plethora of cards using this sketch, so many ideas in my head!  For my first one, I decided to make a fall-themed one, so I pulled out some Florals in Blooms DSP; the non-floral sides have some pretty solid patterns.  Here we go:

I did some creative diecutting with The Greetery's Shiplap Builder dies, extending them a wee bit longer to fit on my embossed base.  Then I stamped a sentiment from an older Impression Obsession stamp on two of the panels.  I finished it off with two diecut leaves from some retired DSPs and a linen bow:

This will probably be a birthday card, but I left the inside blank and I'll add a sentiment when I need it!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm.  He said: "Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?  Tell me, if you understand.  Who marked off its dimensions?  Surely you know!  Who stretched a measuring line across it?  On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone--while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?"  Job 38:1-7

SSC369 Peaceful Garden Thanks

Happy midweek, everyone!  The Sunday Stamps challenge this week was a bit daunting, but again, it IS a challenge, so I gave it a go!  It's a color palette; check it out:

It IS a pretty inspiration photo, and the colors reminded me of the colors in the Peaceful Garden DSP, so I pulled out my Perennial Postage dies and a few pieces of DSP and went to work:

After diecutting my pieces out, I layered them on a Crumb Cake panel that was embossed with the Gathering Leaves embossing folder, then added some Cloud Cover ribbon and some little white flowers:

The sentiment is from Terrific Toadstools!  I managed to get four out of the five colors on there!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

HSS472 Thankful

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I was definitely challenged by the colors at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week:

I admit that Darling Duckling is not one of my favorite colors....I might have used it one time since it came out!  But a challenge is a challenge, so here we go:

I pulled out some older plaid DSP; truthfully, the color in it is Island Indigo, but I thought it was close enough to Pretty Peacock to work!  I diecut some Impression Obsession wheat sheaves in Darling Duckling and Timid Tiger, sponging a little ink on each one to give it a little more depth.  They went on an Everyday Arch diecut that was embossing with the Burlap embossing folder from Honey Bee.  The sentiment was an old Hostess set called Six Sayings, and it was fussy cut and popped up, and I did add a few sequins as well:

The inside sentiment is from the new set called Words for the Season:

And speaking of seasons, it's the season for the Solanco Fair!  Dana and I were amazed at this amazing 530-lb pumpkin!!!  It won, obviously!

There was also a big cow (just an advertisement):

And this was my favorite submission in the photo contest; sadly, it didn't win any ribbons, but it was a winner in my book:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC648 Trick or Treat

Happy Monday, peeps! We've got a challenging sketch this week at Atlantic Hearts---at least it was for me, LOL!  But I still had fun with it; here we go:

I let my papers do most of the work on this card, they're just so darn cute:

The papers are all from Scrapbook.com and they're called Willow Lane.  Aren't those little guys adorable?

I added mats of Basic Black and Smoky Slate, then a bit of black and white twine and some gray sequins.  The sentiments inside and out are from My Creative Time called Mixed Holiday Sentiments, stamped in Versafine Black.

This turned out to be a fun sketch after all!  I hope you'll play with us over at Atlantic Hearts!  Can't wait to see what you create!!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP756 Watercolored Pumpkins

Happy Sunday, peeps! Time for a new Paper Players challenge from Jan!  Clean and Simple as well as watercoloring! Two of my favorites! Here we go:

I drew my inspiration from the sketch at CAS on Sunday as well as these adorable pumpkins from Inspired By:

I stamped and diecut a cute little array of pumpkins from an old Close to My Heart set and watercolored them in some fun colors:

The sentiment is from the same set, and I stamped a knit pattern on some Pecan Pie cardstock for the vertical piece, adding a piece of glimmer for fun, along with a little bronze sequin:

I really love watercoloring, and these were a blast to do! I hope you can get out your paintbrush and inks or paints and come play with us this week!  Remember to keep it CLEAN and SIMPLE, only using a minimum of produts!  See you at the Paper Players!

CH118 Blessings of Fall

Happy Saturday, peeps! A quick card today using the pretty hues from Color Hues:

I recently got some new fall dies and stamps, so I paired them with some vintage-looking papers that Dana gave me for my birthday! Here we go:

I diecut the pumpkins from Cloud Cover and Boho Blue, stems from Crumb Cake (with a little Pecan Pie watercoloring) and the leaf from Soft Succulent.  Sentiment was stamped in Secret Sea.  Such a pretty combination!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI357 Happy Haunting

Hello,  stamping friends! Time for a new As You See It challenge and Heather has a spooky color palette for us this week--I love it!

Even though I love it, I did struggle a wee bit with it! I finally went with some really old stamps to highlight these fun new (and almost-new) colors!  Here we go:

I started with a base of Secret Sea, and originally I was going to do a top-fold card, but then changed directions, and now it's a side-fold card!  I stamped the row of trees and pumpkins in Secret Sea ink; this was actually an old jumbo wheel stamp--remember them?  I took it off the wheel and just used it as a stamp in my Stamparatus.  The cat on the broom was stamped on a piece of Cloud Cover and fussy cut, then mounted on a Timid Tiger moon, embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder, then sponged with Pumpkin Pie ink.  The sentiment is also stamped in Pumpkin Pie.

The final touch was an array of orange glimmer stars, sprinkled across the sky!  Here's the inside, using another real oldie:

I love getting my older stamps inky! I hope you'll find some inspiration at the As You See It blog using our colors this week!  Check out what the other team members did, then go play along!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC647 Blue Santa

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I should be working on Halloween cards, but I keep gravitating to Christmas, LOL!  The Atlantic Hearts sketch this week, along with the Christmas Kickstart challenge, had me thinking Santa!  First here's our sketch:

And the Kickstart challenge is "Santa in September":

I wanted to do something a wee bit untraditional, so I stamped this vintage Santa in some Boho Blue ink and mounted him on some blue snowflake paper:

The set also comes with this pretty sentiment; I embellished Santa with a star sequin and a silver pearl, and added some retired SU silver ribbon:

And I love the font on the sentiment I stamped on the inside:

This sketch is so versatile; you could use it with any style image and for any occasion!  I hope you'll play along with us over at the Atlantic Hearts blog! See you there!  Thank you for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

PP755 Lovely Lemon Thank You

Hi, stamping friends! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week, and it's color challenge week:

I know most of us are thinking fall hues but I wanted to challenge you to use a more spring-like palette!  I needed a thank you card for my SIL since she took care of my flowers while we were on vacation, so what better stamp to use than Layers of Beauty?!  Here we go:

I stamped my florals in Soft Sea Foam, then stenciled in Lemon Lolly, Soft Sea Foam and Lost Lagoon on the petals and leaves.  I found a piece of Lost Lagoon bokeh print from some Christmas DSP we had a few years back and mounted it behind a Penny Black double scalloped fram.  The floral diecut extended beyond the edge of the card, so I just trimmed them off.

A sentiment from Everyday Greetings was heat-embossed in white on a banner of Soft Sea Foam, distressed a wee bit, and then I added a little Lemon Lolly baker's twine behind it as well as a couple of pearls:

Edited to add:  I am also going to enter this over at the Flower Challenge, where their sketch this week is very similar to mine:

I hope you'll play along with our colors this week, too!  The design team came up with some very interesting designs as well!  Be sure to check them out over at the Paper Players blog! Can't wait to see what you come up with!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS703 Patchwork Pumpkin

Happy Thursday, peeps! Recently on a quilting site, I saw some fun little patchwork pumpkins:

And when I saw the FMS sketch:

I thought it would be fun to recreate those pumpkins using paper and dies, similar to this card that I just did!  So here we go:

I used a few scraps from Carta Bella's Fall Break and some Taylored Expressions dies to create my pumpkin.  Then I mounted it on an Everyday Arch diecut from Very Vanilla and embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder:

I added a punched leaf and some linen thread; the outside sentiment is from Right at Home (and I know it's larger than what the sketch required, sorry) and the inside sentiment is from Lawn Fawn:

I have enough of my "patchwork" pieces to make a couple more pumpkins!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Autumn Toile Trio

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I confess that when crafting or sewing, I tend to gravitate towards tiny prints and wee little designs! However, SU has some lovely larger designs in a fall DSP package called Autumn Toile, and I just love the prints they have designed!  I made some samples for my stamp clubs last week and thought I'd share three of my favorites!  Here we go:

I love pumpkins, so this may be my favorite pattern in the whole bunch! I created a tag using some CTMH Kraft paper and the Nested Essentials dies, adhering a Metallic Rub-on and some sequins, then stamping a sentiment using words from the new Seasonal Tags and Choose Happy:

This pattern is great for a masculine card:

I used a sentiment from Simply Said along with a diecut from the new Words for the Season;  Very Vanilla cardstock was adhered to a piece of Adhesive foam and diecut...it really pops against the tattersall pattern:

And finally, this little foxy print is just so fun as well:

I distressed the Early Espresso mat with the edge of an acrylic ruler, then cut a Crumb Cake partial arch with the Everyday Arches die, added a pine bough from Seasonal Tags, the Thanksgiving from Choose Happy, and the diecut greeting is from Words for the Season:

I hope you love all of these patterns as much as I do! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
