CYCI151 Eggstra Special

Hi peeps!  Yay, it's Friday!  I have a big class tomorrow using the Basket Bunch bundle, so I wanted to make some samples for my customers to look at!  Unfortunately, Cassidy was sick yesterday morning, so I didn't get in as much stamping time as I had planned, but I did get one card made, LOL!  I used the Can You Case It sketch by Eva:
I will be very sad to see Mint Macaron go away....almost as sad as when Sage Shadow was retired!  I just love this color!  I pulled out some DSP and some scraps I had on my table to make a little Easter basket:

I also did some dry embossing, and a wee little bit of watercoloring on my little flower!  A bit time-consuming, but a lot of fun!

Cassidy had an upset tummy yesterday, so after a few "upheavals", she took a little nap and by lunchtime, was back to her energetic self!  I wanted to make a couple of Paper Pumpkin samples for my class as well, so of course, she had to make one for Mommy!  She is quite accomplished and knows just how to ink up her stamps....even figured out how to open a SU ink pad...that IS an accomplishment!  She chose the face she wanted to stamp on her bunny,

even adding a row of eggs at the bottom that she colored in with markers:

but she REALLY liked that little pompom tail on the back!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS281 and LIM321 Make My Day

Happy Thursday, all!  A quick little card using the Basket Bunch bundle, Freshly Made Sketches and  the Less Is More recipe challenge!  First, here's the sketch and the prompt:

And here's my card!  I had some scraps of Playful Palette DSP laying on my desk, so I cut them into skinny strips and went from there:

I cut a little frame from Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, added the wee little bunny and his carrot:

and then a little thank you sentiment on the inside:

I need a few more thank yous, so I'd better get busy!

Cassidy saw we had lots of sticks on the ground, so she made a "Stick Trashing Place" on her swing set, and told me she wanted to make a sign.  So I gave her some fabric and she used her markers to make a flag as a sign:

I really like how she spelled "recycle", LOL!  Not sure what the angry girl is saying though!

And the flag is up!

Enjoy your day!

TMS396 for Baby Croghan

Hello, peeps!  Today's card is a wee bit late....it's for my sweet friend Lesley, who is having a little girl next month, and there was a blog hop for her a couple of days ago, which I TOTALLY missed!  Not sure what happened, but it's still going on, so I jumped right in!

No automatic alt text available.

and here we go!  The gallery has lots of pink---LOTS of pink, so I decided to go a different route and use blue and yellow for my card....a little untraditional, but I thought these papers were sweet, especially paired with this little Easter chick that I repurposed for a baby card!

The papers are all from Fancy Pants' Park Bench line; the horizontal panel was stamped with a Papertrey gingham stamp, just to add a little interest.  The chick image is from Penny Black, and it was stamped with Stazon ink on watercolor paper, then watercolored.  I cut part of the image out and slipped it over a stitched die before running it through the Big Shot:

I added a little sentiment from Our Daily Bread and some big enamel dots to finish it off!  I hope Lesley and Corey like it!

Speaking of chicks, Cassidy had her face painted at a local restaurant yesterday:

Cute chick!  Have a blessed day!

SIP92 Painted Thanks

Happy Tuesday, peeps!!  Hope your week is going well so far!  I was thrilled to see this week's Stamp Ink Paper challenge for two reasons!  One, I love the colors and two, I just had some painting done in Cassidy's room and I needed to send the painter a little thank-you note for the awesome job she did!  So here we go:

No automatic alt text available.
So I went pretty literal with the challenge photo, and made a note card with the little paint images from Love You Sew, a retired hostess set:

I wish I had used Rich Razzleberry instead of Elegant Eggplant for the purple, but I still love these colors together!  I used Sahara Sand, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Soft Sky, Smoky Slate and Elegant Eggplant for my paint lines, then stamped the paint brush on top in the same colors and again in Basic Black ink and cut them out and attached them at the top.  It's hard to see, but the paintbrushes are extending above the top of the note card, so I trimmed the card down so it will still fit in a notecard-sized envelope.

I added another swish of paint and a "thanks" sentiment from Perfectly Wrapped!

I hope you'll play along with our colors this week....they're a beautiful inspiration for some spring stamping!  Be sure to check out the SIP blog to see all the creations!

And although it's hard to tell, you can see the new paint in Cassidy's room as she reads her favorite book, "Arthur's Underwear"....although it's not purple like the card (that's what she WANTED!!), I opted for a more soothing shade of sage!  No more stars and sailboats!

And she even has her dolls reading lately:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MTS169 Avant Sugarplum

Happy Monday, everyone!  I am really running behind today; I almost didn't bother to post this card, I was so lazy!  But here it is!  I wanted to use Avant Garden and Delicate Details at least one more time before the end of SAB, and the Match the Sketch sketch seemed perfect for it:

I did some monochromatic stamping with Sweet Sugarplum ink on Sweet Sugarplum cardstock using the Avant Garden set, then ran it through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot embossing folder:

I stamped two rows of lace and the birthday sentiment from Cottage Greetings on a piece of Very Vanilla and fussy-cut the bottom and rounded the top corners.  I also added a diecut from the Flourish set of dies because I felt it needed a vertical dimension!

Another one for my birthday stash!  Thanks for popping in today!

PP337 More Birthday Birds

Hi peeps!  Sunday brings us another Paper Players challenge with Claire as our sketch hostess!  Wowza, I loved this one and I got a chance to play with lots of goodies to create my card today!

I seem to have birds on my mind lately!  I needed a birthday card for my SIL, and I felt like doing something vintage, so I pulled out some pretty neutral papers and a couple vintage sets:

The birds and the sentiment are from a Crafty Secrets set called Bird Lovers; they were stamped in Tip Top Taupe and Soft Suede, with sponging all around:

The background on the vertical panel is from an Artistic Outpost set called Birds of a Feather, and I don't normally put real buttons on my cards anymore as it costs more postage, but since this card is being hand-delivered, I added a vintage button and some velveteen ribbon as an accent:

And on the inside of the card (Tip Top Taupe), I added some sentiments from another Crafty Secrets set called Garden Girls; I thought the vintage font fit the theme of my card!

I hope you like the sketch as much as I do and play along with us!  You can see what the others created here:

Finally....a nice day, a walk in the park, fun in the sun!

MOJO489 Avant Garden Celebrate You

'

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  I have another birthday card today; this one uses Avant Garden because it will be retiring soon and I want to get some use out of it!  I used the Mojo Monday sketch:

I started with an Island Indigo card base and added some retired Sahara Sand DSP and a circle of Blooms and Bliss DSP:

I noticed that the flower from Avant Garden was very similar to the flowers on the DSP, so I stamped one, along with the center, and cut them out for my embellishment.  The Island Indigo ink was a little too blue, so I inked up my stamp with a wee little bit of Mint Macaron first, then added the Indigo ink, and I think I managed to match it fairly well!  I added a pretty sentiment from Suite Sayings, a few little speckles, a scalloped circle mat, and it was done!

Have a great weekend and be blessed!

I am scrambling to find pictures of Cassidy---we haven't been doing any fun activities, and it's been too cold outside, but I did find this one from before St Patrick's Day!  My friend Maryanne made these wee little leprechaun boxes filled with candy for all my stampers at my last Cards & Coffee....Cassidy thought they were really fun, and so did I!

Maryanne is amazing!  Thanks, Maryanne!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for the next Paper Players challenge too!  See you then!

FMS280and SR365 Birthday Bluebird

Happy Friday, peeps!  It's the end of the week and hopefully, the beginning of some warmer weather! My birthday card stash is very low, so I worked on a couple of cards to fill in, but I still need more!  This one uses the FMS sketch:

and the Stampin' Royalty challenge of "spring":

You really can't get much more springy than a bluebird!  I stamped him on thick white cardstock and watercolored him, then did the same with the branch and added a simple sentiment.  Before I adhered Mr Bluebird with dimensionals, I stamped the background stamp from Touches of Textures with Soft Sky ink to give the impression of sky:

I really like the effect it gives!  And it's quite clean and simple!

Happy to be coloring....not happy to be photographed!  Enjoy your day!
