SPDMIX12 Just a Line

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, the weekend is here! I have my second card for the Sugar Peas Design Mix it Up Challenge, using an oldie but goodie stamp set:

My sweet, generous friend Teri gifted me with this set called Just A Line, from 1997; I loved these line art images that SU used to have!  I got out some ink pads and my aquabrush and went to work!  First I stamped the image on SU's thick cardstock with Stazon ink and then just colored away; since it was a large image, I didn't color the background (plus I was sure I would mess it up!) and just filled in the images loosely!  I love this sweet little cat napping in the sun:

along with the little bluebirds:

and I wish I had some aprons like these....mine look a wee bit tattered compared to these pretty ones!

And on the inside:

I thought this fit with the laundry theme of the challenge!  Once I finished coloring, I diecut it with a Lil'Inker Stitched Rectangle die and mounted it on a card with a mat of Graphic 45's Secret Garden Patterns & Solids....a perfect country finish!  Thanks for looking!

Tomboy that she is, one of Cassidy's favorite gifts was a Nerf gun, LOL!  This one can even shoot around corners...John told her she could practice on the squirrels that steal my bird seed!

She showed Grampy how to load the bullets:

and of course, he had to take a turn!  I am not sure who was more excited about it, John or Cassidy!

Enjoy your day!

  1. What a sweet little card LeAnne! Cassidy is welcome round here to practice on the squirrel that frequents my garden any time. My plum tree is having something of a barren year, with only a bowl full of fruit harvested - at speed though, after I watched the squirrel pick a plum, eat it, then go back and repeat the process another three times! I have now declared squirrel war, much to Rebecca's dismay!

  2. LeAnne you've just taken me back to my mom again ... laundry for 11, done daily, always hung on the line - with plenty of aprons, as you can imagine! What a darling card ... gorgeous! to John: 'you're gonna put your eye out!!' xx

  3. I love this card! I thought that I might have this set and sure enough I checked the shelves and there it was!!!! I had totally forgotten about it and am excited at a chance to dig it out and play - thanks for the inspiration! My grand kids (and the bigger parental and grand-parental types too) love these nerf toys. I find those dart thingys absolutely everywhere, inside and out!! I know that she and Grampy will have a grand time with them. They are back at school and we are gearing up for our trip east before the end of the month. Fun times! ~chris

  4. Such a darling card. Reminds me of my mother's clothes lines from years past. Where can I find the stitched border on some of your cards? I love the look.

    1. Doris, sorry I couldn't reply directly as I didn't have your email....the stitched borders are from Lil'Inkers, Stitched Rectangle Dies. Just Google them!

  5. Thank you LeAnne. I found them on their website.

  6. Another perfectly charming country card!! Fabulous LeAnne!! I have a feeling grampy will enjoy this toy too ;)
