Paper Players 292

Happy Sunday, everyone!  The fabulous Claire is our hostess for the Paper Players today, and she has a fun sketch!  Check it out:

There is always a dearth of "guy" cards in my stash, so I thought I'd pull out Guy Greetings for my card today:

I will be mourning the loss of Lost Lagoon, so I am using it a lot lately!  I stamped the shoes and hats in Basic Black; I used the retired Dictionary background stamp for the card base and a couple of scraps of Lost Lagoon DSP for my panels.  It's hard to see, but the black panel was embossed with the Alphabet EF, and finally, I added some twine and candy dots for not-too-frilly embellishments!

I am also entering this over at Little Red Wagon, where their challenge is "text"...use text somewhere on your card!

We can't wait to see what you create with this awesome sketch!  Be sure to share it over at the Paper Players blog, and don't forget to check out what the designers did as well!

I have a new-found respect for five-year-olds trying to learn to read and write!  The English language is fraught with exceptions to the rules!  But Cassidy is doing pretty well, even spelling phonetically! We play a game she made up which involves me guessing something in her mind, and then she draws and spells it!

So we have BUNNIES:

CLOTHES (I love this one):

BOAT:

And hey!  She got this one exactly right!  SWING SET:

Enjoy your day!

LeAnne, this is such a fabulous card! I love Lost Lagoon, too. I am sad it is leaving us! Your mix of patterns, the dictionary background and embossing makes me smile! You know how I love layers! Those hats and shoes are perfect for any dabber dandy! Thanks for making my sketch shine, My Friend! Have a great week! XX
Cassidy is so grown up! I love watching the reading and writing process develop. Looks like she is ready for first grade! XX

You've created a very posh masculine card - love those papers! You and Cassidy have brought me back to my own childhood - Fun with Phonics was a favorite little book sent to me by a favorite Aunt from New Britain, PA - who was also a teacher! You GO Cassidy - I'm thinking of a favorite pet, with four paws, and whiskers, and stripes ... xx

LeAnne, I was just thinking I need to make a masculine birthday card and was lamenting my lack of stamp sets for the occasion. This one is perfect, love the colors and images. Cassidy is growing up so fast! I love her bunnie!

LeAnne, I so remember learning English and phonetical learning wasn't an option for us back then. I remember missing winning a spelling test as a young girl and decided I would become the best student ever to make up for it. Yeah... that really worked :-) It is a tough language with insane exceptions! I love Cassie drawing and spelling out the word and good for her for getting swing set - and her bunee is adorable :-)

I love that you went with a masculine theme this week. I never make enough masculine cards and yours has all the elements any guy would approve of. The colors, the graphic papers and the focal image. Fabulous, my friend.
Hugs

I love your masculine card this week LeAnne with those lines of paired shoes and hats - and gorgeous in this colour combo! Lost Lagoon will be missed (a close second to Blackberry Bliss!) Cassidy's drawings and spellings are so cute - English is such a tricky language to learn.

Fabulous colors for a guy! Great card! Love the lineup of shoes and hats! And I think buneey is way more fun than bunny!

Oh those hats and shoes are fantastic--love them in black and white--so handsome! Love Cassidy's game and wonderful to see that she is eager to learn. I agree with Linda buneey is more fun and makes more sense that bunny!
