A Crafty Day

DSCF6835-001
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I had a lovely crafty day yesterday!  I needed some little gifts for a couple of parties, and I had a chance to “recycle” some items into some fun gifty things!  I got this red frame at the new Goodwill store that just opened (WOOHOO!) but it was pretty plain, so I doctored it up with some snowy embellishments:

The sparkly snowflake was an ornament from my crafty stash, and I added a smaller glimmer snowflake on top; the snowman is from Anna Wight’s Whippersnapper Snowman set:

and the sentiment is from Papertrey’s Daily Designs set; the snowy hills were cut with a Lawn Fawn stitched hills die.  I added some tiny glimmer snowflakes punched with a Martha Stewart punch:

I am entering this in the Shopping Our Stash challenge this week, which is a "Red Alert"...to use red in your project!

My mom’s family business is a florist shop, and my grandfather, uncles and cousins, as well as my daughter, all have the “flower arranging” gene passed down to them….me, not so much!  But I persevered and recycled a Yankee Candle basket into a little candle arrangement using some more crafty stuff from my stash:

I added a little stamped banner:

and decorated the battery-operated candle with some “vintage” sheet music and crochet trim:

It was fun to be creative!
Meanwhile, I cautiously enlisted Cassidy, my little elf, for some Christmas card help; I needed postage stamps put on them, and after a few little crooked mishaps, she got down to serious business:

She got pretty good at it, and was quite proud of the pile she was making!

Enjoy your day!

Both of these are awesome recycling projects! Anyone would be happy to receive them! LOL, I can't get stamps on straight. I think there were probably some people that got my cards that got a chuckle over the crooked stamps! I need Cassidy to help me!
