RRBC26 Retro Santa

DSCF2593-001

Happy Thursday, peeps!  A real quick post today as I am in the throes of trying to make some cards and crafts for a local craft show next week!  But I couldn’t pass up this fun sketch from Retro Rubber:

 Challange 26

I turned the sketch on its side to make use of this fun MME Lost & Found Christmas paper that I’ve been hoarding for a long time, along with some matching MME brads and embellishments!  I mounted them all on a card of Bravo Burgundy:

After agonizing over which brads to use, this card took about ten minutes to put together!  The only stamping was the sentiment on the inside!  Easy peasy!

So, I am on a roll here with the bad-grammy sweet stuff this week; yesterday we made Halloween cookies with orange icing and orange and black sprinkles!  Yikes!  The end result is tucked away in a tin on top of the fridge, so we can limit the amount she eats every day!!!

Rolling out and lifting the cookies from the cloth requires great concentration:

But once they’re baked, the fun begins!

“Maybe I should stand up!”

DSCF2583

And yes, doesn’t everyone wear their “Peace Out” rubber boots while decorating Halloween cookies?  (She insisted on wearing them because it was raining!)

DSCF2584

Tada!  And trust me….don’t buy black sprinkles unless you want your fingers, lips and teeth to turn gray!

This was my favorite…the “spooky bat”!!!  Enjoy your day!

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I wanted to title this post “The Saga of the Sad Christmas Children”…..but that would have been too long, LOL!  So here’s how it started; I wanted to use this interesting color combo featured at Stamp, Ink Paper this week:
SIP Color Challenge 20 800
along with the sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday:

I had it in my mind that I had to make a Christmas card….so I looked through my vast array of Christmas stamps, trying to find one that would support Blushing Bride..not an easy task!  I found these wee sisters on a sled in an Artistic Outpost set called Sleigh Ride.  I stamped a Christmas background from Stampendous on some Very Vanilla, then stamped the girls in Early Espresso on top.  I had diecut this “merry” from some Gold Foil paper, so I thought I would use that.  Put it on an Early Espresso horizontal panel, added a some gold embellishments and it was done.

LeAnne Pugliese WeeINklings Artistic Outpost Sleigh Ride

But the more I looked at those somber little faces, the more incongruous that “merry” looked….finally, I just had to rip it off.  It just did not fit.  And I don’t know why they look so sad….maybe their wee little cheeks are cold from being out in the snow? Don't they realize CHRISTMAS is coming?

DSCF2561

SO, I redid the panel; added some lace; heat embossed a vintage sentiment in Gold Glory embossing powder and changed the gold circle to a gold scallop oval:

So they’re still somber, but at least now they are not faking being merry!  And I just got some new PTI goodies, and this sentiment fit perfectly for the inside:

Enjoy your day!
Somehow, blue jello landed in my grocery cart this week, so we had a jello-making morning (and just for the record, I don’t think anyone, especially children, should eat anything colored blue….too much artificial stuff for my liking!).  But somehow I got coerced:

And it wasn’t just blue; it was FROZEN Chilled Berry blue!!!  AAAHHHHH!

Try Stampin’ on Tuesday 242

DSCF2460

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It’s time for another Try Stampin’ On Tuesday challenge, and I found this sketch a real pleasure to work with:

The bonus challenge is “Boo or Eek”, but since I needed a birthday card, I went in another direction!  I had these pieces sitting on my desk from a Christmas card I demonstrated at my last workshop, and I thought I could make them work for this card as well!  Card base is Soft Sky, and the polka dotted paper is Watermelon Wonder DSP.  Check it out:

I embossed the circular panel with the Vine Street embossing folder, then I made a banner using Endless Birthday Wishes, adding a few little Soft Sky hearts, pearls and white sequins….and a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri:

DSCF2461

and for the sentiment in the corner, again, Endless Birthday Wishes, this time stamped in Craft White and embossed with white embossing powder; more sequins, hearts and pearls!

This was for my beautiful niece Kelly, whose birthday was Saturday!  I hope she liked it!  Now, what will you create with this lovely sketch?  Share it with us at TSOT’s blog, or even share it on our Facebook page!  Can’t wait to see it!

My friend Linda wanted to know if Cassidy was still “lining things up”!!  Here she is, yesterday morning, playing with her Halloween magnets on the refrigerator:

Yep, still lining things up!  Enjoy your day!

Blue Christmas

DSCF2295

Happy Monday, peeps!  I am sharing a Christmas card with you today; I first saw this idea here by Deb Valder, and I knew I had to CASE it, it was sooooo pretty!  My version uses some Timeless Elegance DSP, Sahara Sand for the window, and Night of Navy for my little scene from Cozy Christmas:

You can find the details on Deb’s YouTube video, but it is pretty simple to make, just some masking and stamping and sponging and glittering and layering!  Really, it’s a pretty card that has a great “wow” factor!  Thanks for popping in today!

Paper Players 268

DSCF2478

Hi everyone!  Happy Sunday!  Today, I am the hostess at the Paper Players with a sketch for you!  Here you go:

Today I veered away from fall and Halloween creations again, giving my beloved Mint Macaron a little love!  I needed a thank you card for someone who did me a big favor, so I cut some of the Color Collection DSP into strips, did a few layers of cardstock and added a sentiment from Friendly Phrases:

I rescued a Basic Black scallop that I had been chasing around my desk, unused from another project, added it beneath my circle, and stamped the “thank you” from the retired Itty Bitty Banners in Basic Black.  The flower embellishments are from Endless Thanks, stamped and fussy-cut; the larger ones have a candy dot center; the smaller ones, I simply filled in with a black marker!  Some narrow grosgrain ribbon finished it off!

I have to tell you, the designers outdid themselves with this sketch this week!  I hope you’ll visit them all, then use their ideas to inspire you as well!  Can’t wait to see what you create!

MTS095, AYSI 109 and TSTR262

DSCF2487

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Got anything fun planned this weekend?  I am going to stay home and clean my stamp room…..it is a disaster area!  I squeezed in some stamping time late, late last night for these three challenges:

Match the Sketch:

As You See It:

AYSIChallenge109

and The Shabby Tea Room:

I saw a card made with this CTMH stamp recently and was lucky enough to snag one online, and it arrived in the mail yesterday, so I quickly inked it up!  I love these colors together; a recent issue of Better Homes & Gardens used these colors too, and even though I’ll never see a Lost Lagoon leaf in real life, I think they’re pretty here!

My little pumpkin is from Recollections, and the sentiment is from My Creative Time’s Mixed Holiday Sentiments.  I almost forgot that I had this pretty Lost Lagoon baker’s twine from SAB, so I added a piece to complement the stitched leaves from Lawn Fawn!

Such a fun subway art-style image!

We took a last trip to the local farm to pick up a few more pumpkins!

SIP19 Boo Box

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Surprise Halloween Boo Box Front-001

Happy Friday, peeps!  I have another little Halloween project for you today; it’s really quite easy and fun to do.  This was the “bonus” project for my Halloween Treat stamp camp, and they all enjoyed it!  It’s also perfect for Sandy’s Tic Tac Toe challenge at Stamp, Ink Paper:

SIP Tic-Tac-Toe 19 800

I believe I got seven out of the nine, not too bad!   I took a Tiny Treat Box and covered the sides and top with some Happy Haunting DSP.  I stamped my kitty and pumpkin in Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black, then did some fussy cutting and adhered them together and put them on the front.  This is one of my favorite vintage Halloween stamps; I am pretty sure it came from 100 Proof Press:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Surprise Halloween Boo Box Front

On the top of the box, I added a black glimmer paper “boo” from Boo to You framelits along with some black and orange sequins:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Surprise Halloween Boo Box Top

And the surprise is this little bat that pops up out of the box when you open it!  It’s the bat from Cheer All Year, mounted on a thin strip of window sheet.  His wings are curled inward, and the window sheet strip is mounted to the center bottom with a glue dot:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Surprise Halloween Boo Box Opened

After you put your candy inside, tuck the bat down on top of the candy, as shown; the wings need to be curled enough to fit inside (a bone folder works well, as one of my customers told me!!!), then just fold the lid down and it’s ready for trick-or-treat night!  I did trim the side flaps  of the lid, but that was just my choice….you don’t have to do it!

I also stamped the sentiment from Cheer All Year on the inside lid as shown.  These little 2” boxes are so much fun to make, I hope you’ll try one too!

We taught Cassidy how to play Sorry!, since I was a wee bit tired of Candyland!  She did really well….and Grampy lost!

Kraft Journal 246

DSCF2449

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I hadn’t played too much with my Curvy Keepsake die lately, and when I saw this adorable creation by Rachel Tessman, I knew I had to make one of my own!  The Kraft Journal has a scarecrow challenge this week and since I don’t have any scarecrow stamps, I thought this would be perfect!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Curvy Keepsake Box Scarecrow

Mine’s a wee bit different from Rachel’s; I used Crumb Cake for my box, stamping the line image from Gorgeous Grunge in Sahara Sand (stamped off) in both directions on each portion of it, shading the edges as well. I used a few punches for the eyes, cut out the nose freehand, and drew on the mouth and added a wee bit of “rouge” with Watermelon Wonder and a sponge dauber!

His “hair” was created by using a crimper on Hello Honey, Crumb Cake and So Saffron scraps, then cutting them into strips, gathering them together and tying them with some linen thread and adhering them to the top of the box with Sticky Strip.  I diecut a black crow from an old Sizzlet (Birds & Blooms, I believe) and created a tag with the acorn from September’s Paper Pumpkin kit; I used a Cajun Craze marker to ink up a portion of a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes:

DSCF2451

Hmmmm…..I might just fill him up with some candy and give him away as a door prize tonight at my Halloween treat class!  What do you think?

Cassidy wanted to make some Halloween cards for her friends on the bus…I’ll just show you one today!  She was fascinated by this black spiderweb paper, but I told her she could only stamp with white on it, so we picked out a little ghost stamp and I helped her stamp them all around the edge.  She then insisted on giving them smiles:

DSCF2443

All of them….I guess she doesn’t realize ghosts are supposed to be spooky!  Lots of little Caspers here!

Don’t they make YOU want to smile?  Enjoy your day!
