FF0153 Making Friends

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I have another "friendship" card today; while I was making my Paper Players card, I decided to just ink up another cute image from that Rare Images set. This one features a little girl with her kitten; so here we go:

This time I stamped my little girl on some watercolor paper with Stazon ink and colored her with inks and an aquapainter, leaving the little kitten's face white:

I found an older SU stamp that had this friendship sentiment, so I stamped it on watercolor paper as well, then diecut it with the Nested Essentials die.  I added some featherstitching to the side of the watercolor paper panel, as well as at the bottom of the Azure Afternoon card, and added some black and white gingham to coordinate:

I think I'll throw this in the ring over at Festive Friday; the blue and white colors and the "supportive statement" should fit the bill!

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB136 Summer Fun

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for another Retro Rubber Challenge, where we give some love to our stamps that are a year old--or older!  This week we have an appropriate theme challenge:

I challenged myself this week by using a sketch and an unusual color palette with my fun, vintage summertime image from Technique Junkie, which I got at least three or four years ago:

Here's the sketch I used from Try Stampin' on Tuesday:

and the color palette from Inspire. Create:

I started by stamping the besties image in Night of Navy, then trimmed out around their heads and did some partial diecutting with a Stitched Shapes die.  I added a back panel of Rich Razzleberry, diecut with a Stitched So Sweetly die (and cut apart) which had been embossed with a Perfect Polka Dots EF:

I added a sentiment and shell from another old set from Artistic Outpost called Boardwalk (approx 2015), and mounted it all on this terrific printed paper that looked just like ocean water!  On the inside of my Coastal Cabana card, I added a few more oldies but goodies:  a sentiment from Friends 24-7 (2009) and Birthday Centers (Cornish Heritage Farms, probably 10 years old!):

I finished it off with a striped Bermuda Bay bow and some pretty turquoise sequins from my stash!  I have so many summer stamps, it was hard to choose, but I was happy with how this turned out, and it's already in the mail to someone special!

I hope you'll kick off summer by stamping a summer-themed card with us!  Just be sure to use stamps that are at least one year old, and tell us how old they are!  Can't wait to see what you share!

The farmer cut our field on Saturday, and raked and baled it today....such a pretty sight, at least to a farm girl like me:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB86 May Flowers

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for another Retro Rubber Challenge and this is a sweet one...May flowers!

Image may contain: text

Oh my, so many sets from which to choose!  In the end, I opted for a retired SU set called Nature Walk from 2009!  I stamped it in Stazon Black ink on watercolor paper and used ink and an aquapainter to color it in:

Here's a closer view:

I am still getting the hang of doing the background...coloring the images in is a piece of cake, but making that "dreamy" background takes a bit of practice!  I added a little banner and sentiment, and it's hard to see, but there is a piece of Powder Pink ribbon behind the sentiment, as well as a glimmer dot on top:

I love that pretty pink paper on the background...it's from PhotoPlay's French Flea Market!

I hope you'll play along with us this week...I know there are lots of flower-lovers out there!  Pull out your older stamps (at least a year old) and give them some love, then share it with us at the RRCB blog!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
