Blame it on Michele

LOL, do you like the name of my post?  It's all because my friend Michele posted cards made with this adorable stamp set called Clever Sausage...and I just had to get it!  Here we go:

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday, and I am also entering it in the Time Out Birthday challenge:

I started by stamping my little pup in Memento ink on some Soft Suede cardstock and shaded him with some blends.  You can get matching dies with the set, but the images fairly easy to fussy cut, so I passed on the dies!  I also gave him a polka dotted sweater:

I added a polka dotted balloon, and a sentiment diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  Before adhering everything, I stamped a few little confetti on my Stitched So Sweetly panel!  His little bow and tie around his tummy were hand-drawn!

Finally, on the inside of the Daffodil Delight, I added the sentiment:

All the printed papers are from Honey Bee's The Bee's Knees 6x6 pad!  Thanks for popping in today!

I must admit, that socially distancing myself has made me very, very lazy.  All I did on Sunday, after watching our church service on FB, was to work on a puzzle, oh and I did sew two DIY masks which I will be mailing to my niece.  There is NO 1/4" elastic to be found anywhere, so that's the extent of my mask-making.  I am keeping up on my Bible study, walking, and making a few cards, but mostly just....working on my puzzle!  Hopefully it will be done today and I can move forward!  How are you keeping busy?  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SS589 Little Foxes

Happy Monday, peeps!  Happy Veteran's Day!  I am waaaaaay late today, too much going on this past weekend and stamp clubs today!  I did put together a card yesterday, only because I already had this cute little image stamped and colored, so I grabbed a scrap of striped paper, diecut my image and threw it all together to make a card:

The Sketch Saturday sketch worked great for me:

My little foxes (Unity A Foxy Christmas) were stamped in Cajun Craze, and I used some Arteza watercolor brushes to add some color and depth to the greenery behind them.  There's actually a little bird on the log too; I almost missed it!!  Hopefully you can see it there!  The paper I used is SU's Shimmery White.  I still need a little practice using those brushes, but it's fun to experiment!  I stamped a retired Papertrey sentiment (Signature Christmas) underneath in Mossy Meadow; there's a cute sentiment that comes with the Unity set, which I forgot about, otherwise I would have used it!  I added some sequins from my stash and it was done!  Easy!  I think next time I use this image, I'll add some darker eyes....they look a little vacant to me, LOL!

We are flying our flag today to honor our veterans...it's easy to remember that John was in the Navy, but I often forget that my dad was also in the army.  He didn't see any action, but I wish I could have thanked him for his service, but he never talked about it ever!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB89 Acorns for Fall

Hi peeps!  It's sweltering here in PA....but it is still summer, right?!  Thankfully, Laurel has her mind on fall and she has a wonderful Inspired By challenge for us today!  Here's my take on it...as soon as I saw the photo prompt, I knew I wanted to use this Spellbinder's Die of the Month from last year:

And here is her photo inspiration:

I love the rich intense colors...I think I should have done some shading on my card!  Maybe I'll do another, LOL!  Anyway, I started my card by using the sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I diecut the acorn cap from some Brushed Copper cardstock, and the remaining pieces from some Oliver DSP from My Mind's Eye:

The tan background, plaid mat, and banner are also from the same pad, and I embossed the tan background with the Subtle embossing folder after adhering it to a Very Vanilla card base.  The final simple touch was three candy dots in the corner!  I left the inside blank until I decide for what occasion to use it!

Thanks for popping in today--I hope you'll use our photo inspiration to create something fall-ish, or acorny, or whatever!  Share it with us at the IB blog too!!

Our little tomboy!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SS559 Dump Trucks for Jamison

Happy Tuesday, all!  It was a busy day yesterday so I didn't get any stamping done, and it was my nephew's 4th birthday, so I made a belated card for him today.  At 4, I am sure he doesn't really know what belated means, so it's probably okay!  I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I had ordered this dump truck die a long time ago and it finally arrived last week, so I put it to good use, since Jamison LOVES trucks, tractors and dirt!  So here we go:

I cut the trucks from Real Red, Call Me Clover and Daffodil Delight; the wheels and torn edges are Basic Black.  Sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays and the Smoky Slate pattern is from an old Paper Pumpkin set.  It's all stamped on some miscellaneous scrapbook paper I had in my stash!

I embossed the Smoky Slate card with a Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder, then stamped a sentiment on the inside (same Paper Pumpkin kit) and over-stamped the number four using a Tim Holtz stamp:

And here's a picture of the birthday boy; our church had an Easter Egg hunt (more pix on that later), and he was quite successful at his quest:

It is so cute to watch these little ones interact; they're so curious!:

And last but not least, I forgot one card that my sweet friend and teammate Claire sent me; she knows how much I love vintage/retro stuff!  I love it:

If you know Claire, you can just hear her saying this...it looks like her a bit too!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF0027 and SS551 Wish Upon A Star

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have a day off today for President's Day, and it's a good thing cuz I have a busy week coming up! I squeaked in some stamping time yesterday for two challenges:  Festive Friday and Sketch Saturday:

#festivefridaychallenge, #FF0027, Stampin Up, Stars

At first I was going to pass on the Festive Friday challenge, as I have NO stamps that are fairy-tale related, but I found this cool hologram unicorn paper that my friend Martha recently gave me, and I also received a new die from my friend Renita, so I thought I would put them together to create a dazzling, star-struck birthday card!  I did turn the sketch on the side to accommodate the paper:

After die-cutting the paper, I added a piece of silver foil behind the cut, heat embossed a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Upon a Star, and added some glimmer paper stars!

And on the inside, a sentiment from the retired Perfectly Wrapped along with some Swirly Stars from Close to My Heart:

So happy you popped in today!

Armed and dangerous, ready for Nerf Night..and sitting in her car seat!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Inspired By 45 Pom Pom Christmas

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for another Inspired By Challenge!  You'd better put on your sunglasses, this one is bright!!

I had a lot of fun making it though...a little out of my normal style, but when you see Laurel's prompt, you'll see why:

I don't even know where I got this deer stamp, but I know I've never used it!  I stamped him in Poppy Parade, then gave him some glittery pompoms; I found some brightly-colored striped paper in my stash and went with the colors:

I punched out different cardstock circles with my 1/4" circle punch and added some Martha Stewart glitter...that was the most challenging part of the card, LOL!  I added a stitched frame, some stitched borders and a little tiny stitched sentiment.  It all went on a card base embossed with a snowflake EF!  The sketch is from Sketch Saturday:

The design team has created some fabulous creations as well...be sure to check them out at the IB blog and share yours with us too! (There is another deer in my stamp set and I might just have to use it for another card!!)  Thanks for popping in today!

Sketch Saturday You Are The Best

Hi everyone!  Happy Wednesday!  The week is almost halfway done, yippee!  I have a sweet little card today using the sketch from Sketch Saturday:

Fun---I haven't used a tag for a while!  I got out some Share What You Love DSP, my tag punch and went to work:

I cut two tags, one in Crumb Cake and one in the floral DSP; on the crumb cake one, I stamped a sentiment from A Big Thank You in Berry Burst and added some leaves around the outside edge.  I filled in the leaves with some Frost White shimmer paint and sponged the edges a bit with some white craft ink.  I added a little "thank you" and another leaf to the bottom of the tag:

All the lower edges of my DSP and card were punched with the corner rounder portion of the Envelope Punch Board to give it a nice finished edge!  This is going to a special someone...I have very generous friends!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Some Halloween peeps for my little peep!!

These are actually chocolate covered on the back!!  Meow!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Two Easy Cards

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have two easy cards for you today...I spent some time in my stamp room today (instead of doing chores, I am such a procraftinator!), and the first one is for Dana and Wayne's first anniversary, which is tomorrow:

Blessedly, the weather last year was very cooperative; if they had gotten married this year, they would have needed umbrellas just like Kelly!  I used the FMS sketch for this one by Jen, it's really clean and simple, which was perfect for what I wanted:

Dana likes purple, so I used some Highland Heather as my card base and layered it with some pretty heart-embellished SU vellum from several years ago.  I heat-embossed a sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet and added some gold diecuts:

Sadly, my second card is for a close family/church friend who has been battling health issues for several years; he came home from the hospital last night and passed away early this morning.  We know it is a blessing, as he was in a lot of pain, but we still miss him!  The sketch from Sketch Saturday gave me a chance to use some pretty papers from Share What You Love:

And here's the sketch:

I already had a Mint Macaron card base cut and scored, so I layered my DSP on a Petal Pink mat and adhered them.  The beautiful velvet ribbon from the Holiday Mini matched nicely, and I colored a pearl with a Light Pumpkin Pie Blend marker and adhered it for just a little extra something:

My sentiments, inside and out, are from Flourishing Phrases, stamped in Soft Suede, and I added some leaves from Perennial Birthday, stamped in Soft Sea Foam:

Hope you have a blessed day, thanks for popping in!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge too!
