Twofer Wreath Challenge #11

Hi peeps! I am running very late today...I have my last stamp club of 2018 tonight so I spent the morning getting ready, and this colder weather has my allergies acting up!!  Anyone else "suffering" the same way?  I think it's all those yucky wet leaves!  Anyway, I got a very little bit of stamping time in over the weekend and made a couple cards for the Twofer Card Challenge, in which I have never participated!  My friend Carol is a guest designer there, so I decided to give it a try!  They're extremely CAS because that's all the energy I had, LOL!  So here we go:

I used Fun Stampers Journey's Harvest Wreath for the wreath; the wreath on the Thanksgiving card was stamped with Soft Suede ink and embellished with some faceted gems from Amber Moon; sadly, the photo just doesn't capture how pretty they are here:

My diecut sentiment was from the same set, stamped in Cajun Craze and overstamped with a stamp from Timeless Textures; the together was from The Paper Studio:

I finished it off with a Braided Linen Twine bow:

My second card is a Christmas card; the wreath was stamped in Soft Sea Foam, and the sentiment was stamped in Balmy Blue:

I colored some pearls with a Pink Pirouette Blend and added a Powder Pink bow:

And since the Christmas Card Throwdown's challenge is to use pink, green and blue, I am entering this one in their challenge as well!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Cassidy snagged another sunrise photo from her kitchen deck this morning:

And here is a sunrise photo my brother took very early one morning over the fountains of Longwood Gardens:

Neutral Merry Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps!  A quick card today, amping up my Christmas card stash!  Here we go:

The paper does most of the work here!  All the print papers are from Echo Park's Christmas Delivery; I embossed a piece of Basic Gray with a little snowflake pattern, then added my gold-embossed sentiment and added a gold foil snowflake and pearl embellishments:

And I am entering this in three challenges:  House of Cards' Gold and Pearl color challenge:

And the Simply Neutrals Tuesday challenge, (although compared to the other submissions, mine is rather paltry!!!):

FMS348 and CCT Sticker Christmas

Hey peeps!  I am squeezing in another card today; after I saw Sandy's cute little Christmas card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge of stickers, I knew I wanted to make one too!  I incorporated the FMS sketch into it as well:

So here we go.....an unusual Christmas card in that it is Early Espresso, embossed with a Darice snowflake EF as well!  The stickers are from the Winter Wonderland line by Simple Stories; I adhered them to a piece of Rustic White cardstock and popped them up on dimensionals:

Aren't these images the cutest?  Easy peasy too!

The plaid piece is also a sticker, and I adhered some Tim Holtz Ideology Seasonal stickers on for my sentiment:

Thanks for popping in again today!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SSC174 and 52CC10-18 Christmas Blessings

Happy Monday, everyone!  I have a quick little Christmas card today before I have my stamp club meeting!  It uses the Christmas Card Throwdown color challenge of kraft and red, and the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

Hearts Come Home is still available, as well as Christmas Pines, so I combined the two to create a little scene.  In hindsight, I wish I had heat embossed the houses in white, but I had already fussy-cut them all out and I was too lazy to do them again!!  So here we go:

I mounted them on a little layer of "snow" and added a moon cut with a 3/4" circle punch.  The background is a piece of Crumb Cake that had been run through the Softly Falling embossing folder that was covered with White Craft ink on the inside flat side of the folder.  I like how it's a reverse of the snowflakes on my little scene:

I added a sentiment embossed in white and a layer of Candy Cane Lane DSP (ret) for a coordinating background!  Another Christmas card for my stash!  Thanks for popping in...be sure to come back tomorrow for a nice little announcement!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP061 and 52 CCTD Another Christmas Card

Happy Friday, peeps, and Happy Veterans Day to any of you who have served in our Armed Forces! Another Christmas card today....and I need your help!  But more on that later!  First,  I've got the color challenge from Global Design Project:

And a sweet sketch from 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown:

Phew, this color combo WAS a challenge....I like both of these colors individually, but together, I was a bit stumped.  Every Occasion is a sweet little set that seems to have fallen in the stamping cracks; I used it when it first came out in the catalog but haven't inked it up lately, and I don't see it out in blogland too often.  So I checked out the holiday images in it and thought I might be able to come up with something!  My only issue was that I didn't have any DSP that worked with the challenge, so I took out a panel of Irresistably Floral Specialty DSP....it has embossed designs that resist ink....and I sponged it with Sweet Sugarplum ink and made my own matching DSP:

Of course, I had to use my new stitched dies, and added some bling and pretty ribbon:

The outside sentiment is from Good Greetings (retired SU); the inside sentiment is from Oh What Fun.  And HERE is my problem.  Check out all the "fuzzies" that came along for the ride when I stamped this sentiment on the inside!  GRRRR!  I used SU's Basic Black this time, but it happens with the Memento pad as well.  And if you look at the other images, stamped in colored ink, there aren't any fuzzies at all.  SO what is it with black ink pads and photopolymer stamps?

I clean my stamps EVERY time with cleaner on SU's Stamp 'n Scrub and I still cannot get a clear image.  So any help would be appreciated from anyone else who's had this issue!  I am thinking of trying Lawn Fawn's Stamp Shammy....it has gotten rave reviews and I am hoping it might help!

On a brighter note, I got Cassidy some fall clings and she put them on her bedroom window, which looks out on a very fall-ish scene!

Makes me want to go stamp a blue owl!  Enjoy your day!

Golden Pinecones Christmas

Hi peeps!  I was experimenting with some watercolored backgrounds....I definitely need more practice!  My card today is for the 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown:

as well as the Jingle Belles' "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" challenge, which is to use music on your card!  So here we go:

I hadn't put away my new Christmas Pines set, so after doing the watercolor background on my el-cheapo watercolor paper (wet it, dab on Pear Pizzazz ink, then dry with a heat gun), I stamped the pine bough in Garden Green, the "Noel" in Cherry Cobbler, and added some gold accents and stars:

But I thought it looked a bit bare, so I decided to try out one of the pine cone dies from the Pretty Pines set with some gold foil; WOWZA!  Check these out:

I haven't been this jazzed up about a die for a long time!  It creates an awesome effect!  I added some sheet music DSP from last year's holiday catalog on a Cherry Cobbler card base, then stamped another sentiment and some more gold stuff on the inside, using a leftover piece of that el-cheapo stuff:

Another Christmas card for my stash!

And a little photo from Sunday's Fish Fry...my dad, Jim, with his two great-grandchildren, Jamison and Cassidy!!  Love!

Thanks for popping in today!

Snowflakes in April

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  My Christmas card this week uses three challenges!!  The first is from  52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown:

As well as Merry Monday's snowy theme:

And the beautiful color challenge from In{k}spire Me:

Because the colors are a little unusual for a snowy Christmas card, I went "light" on the snowflakes, using several different sets, stamping them in the challenge colors on a Whisper White base.  I added a sentiment from Paper Pumpkin in Blackberry Bliss, a retired metal frame from waaaaaaay back, some glimmer ribbon and linen thread:

The frame actually had eyelets on both sides, but I trimmed one end off to make it look more like a tag!  The sentiment is from Papertrey's Believe set, and you can't see it, but the letters are sparkly because I used Wink of Stella on them!

The white panel was simply mounted on a mat of Blackberry Bliss and adhered to a Sahara Sand card base!  Another for my stash!

Enjoy your day!

Mojo Monday 444 Silent Night

Hi everyone!  I've gotten a wee bit behind in making my Christmas cards, so I put to use the Mojo Monday sketch for this week to play catch-up!

My card base is Baked Brown Sugar, and my papers are from KaiserCraft's Home for Christmas line:

I stamped the sentiment from Papertrey's O Holy Night directly onto the print paper in Cherry Cobbler, then diecut some Tim Holtz holly leaves from Always Artichoke cardstock.   Timeless Textures was stamped on top and I added an enamel dot "berry":

I added a few more holly leaves on the inside along with a sentiment from the same set:

I am also entering this in 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown's Christmas Foliage challenge:

Thanks for popping in today!

The first warm day, and Cassidy is ready to go swimming!!!  Silly  kid!
