CTS278 It's A Boy

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Boy, is it hot today!  We went yard-saling this morning and it was just overwhelmingly unbearable!  So back inside to work on my craft room...or not!  Anyway, I made this card for a couple in our church who just announced the birth of a new grandson!  Yippee, I always love to make baby cards!  I started with the Cas(e) This Sketch sketch for this week:

And here we go:

This retired stamp set, Every Little Bit, has lots of fun little images that are quick to stamp and easy to color in!  I stamped the images in Memento Black ink and used various SU Blends to color them in, then diecut them with the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

The sentiment is from another retired set, Nursery Necessities, and it and the other banner (Lawn Fawn plaid paper) was cut with a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Labels die.  Everything was adhered to a thick white card, and since the banner stuck out a little, I created a custom envelope with my Envelope Punch Board!

So happy you popped in today...be SURE to come back tomorrow, as the Paper Players have an awesome challenge for all you lucky stampers!  Be blessed and enjoy your day!

Cassidy's first "sparring" time...she is on the left.  She's not quite advanced enough yet to really know how to do this, but Master Fisher put her in with the other students in the class!!!  Yikes, that looks scary to me!

AYSI 179 Happy Bee Day

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hard to believe that June is almost over....July will be here SOON!!  The As You See It  DT has a fun challenge for you today...check out these gorgeous colors!

No automatic alt text available.

At first these colors stumped me, but then I found this piece of My Mind's Eye paper (I couldn't find the cover of the pad, so I don't know the name) and it had almost all the colors on it already!  How convenient!  It had a rose-colored floral already printed on the side so I created a different one in Flirty Flamingo to cover it up, then added a few more embellishments of my own:

Everything on the right side of the paper was stamped with images from Darcie's Heart & Home, except for the honeycomb, which is from a retired My Favorite Things set.  Even the little sentiment in the center was added on!  The flowers are from W+9's Freehand Florals:

I added some sequins and a shabby seam-binding bow, then I diecut a circle from the bottom of the panel, flipped it over and stamped the sentiment, then added the black lace and bee images, stamped in Basic Black:

I had a strip left from the original page, so I adhered that on the inside and added a sentiment from Perennial Birthday, stamped on Gray Granite.  I used a square Stitched Shapes framelit to cut a rectangle!!!  I positioned the square die at the top of the sentiment and ran it through once, then re-positioned the die so that it was at the bottom of the sentiment and ran it through again, laying it on the plate so that the uncut edge would go through first.  I turned the crank, but only until I heard the first "clunk", signifying that only the bottom portion of the die went through the BS, then turned it back.  Clear as mud? I'll have to take some pictures to show you sometime!

The design team has some marvelous creations to show you...be sure to stop by the AYSI blog and share your creations with us as well!

Cassidy is with her daddy all next week, so I will get a little vacation!  We did do a little art project today; she painted her little wooden tooth fairy box (she was using it as a first-aid box!!!).  She painted it white, then added some other colors to the top.  I have to learn that my idea of a good paint job and hers are a little different, but she was proud of it (even though she refused to smile for the photo!!!)!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB26 Let's Go Camping

Hey peeps!  It's Thursday...the end of the week is coming up, and it's time for another Inspired By challenge!!  I was so excited to see this prompt....it "prompted" me to run right out and get this little diecut to create a wee little whimsical card; check it out:

And here is Laurel's prompt!  Isn't this quilt adorable?!

My camper die is from Flora and Fauna, it was cut from watercolor paper, colored with an aquapainter and ink and mounted on a Crushed Curry oval.  I put a couple of "trees" punched with a retired SU tree punch behind the camper.  The sentiment is from Adventure Awaits, and I stamped it on a piece of retired DSP, then mounted it all on a Call Me Clover card base:

I also stamped a sentiment from the same set on the inside: I think this would make for a great graduation or new job card!

You don't need to follow the camping theme though...check out the IB blog to see the other lovely ways our talented design team interpreted this cute challenge!  Hope to see you in the gallery too!

I wanted to share the screen shot that Dana sent me from Cassidy's karate "graduation"...they have to fill out a book with six lessons in it, and she did it successfully and garnered quite a haul of goodies!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS343 Vintage Snowmen

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I have a quick little Christmas card today; I let the paper do most of the work on this one!  It uses the FMS sketch from Jen T:

and some fun coordinating vintage-style papers that came from.....I don't remember!  I think I bought this as a kit on Etsy!  Sorry!  Anyway, here we go:

My card base is Soft Sea Foam and I used a Papertrey die for the "Holiday", cut in Real Red. The words are stamped in Tranquil Tide, and I added a little baker's twine bow and some sequins from my stash!

I just love how that snowman is waving, right by the "hello"!  A happy coincidence!  The inside uses a little scrap of the printed paper and a sentiment from SU's retired Warmth and Wonder:

I am also entering this in The Merry Christmas challenge of Anything Goes!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Some pool time fun from last week....although it's going to rain today, no pool for us today!!!:

CAS Colors & Sketches 278 Fabulous You

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  This is my last week as guest designer for CAS Colours and Sketches, and we have a lovely sketch for you:

I haven't used this new In Color, Call Me Clover, yet, so I thought this would be a good occasion to remedy that!  I used it with Granny Apple Green, another bright new color, along with Picture Perfect Birthday:

One fun element is the line of piercing above my In Color DSP layer; it's from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets, and it is so fun!  I like how it mimics the polka dots in the DSP!  I added a bow and a noise-maker and popped them up on dimensionals:

I love this simple little sketch and I hope you'll play along with it....it's open to so many possibilities!  And check out all the submissions, as well as the DT creations, at the CAS Colours & Sketches blog!

A little sprinkler action:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Easy Sketchy Saturday

Happy Monday, peeps!  SO....here was my day yesterday:
  1. Walk a mile when I got up.
  2. Make breakfast before church.
  3. Go to church.
  4. Come home and make lunch.
  5. Mow the yard.
  6. Go to a wedding (but not the reception).
  7. Come home and crash.
  8. Take a nap.
  9. Make a card.
  10. Make dinner.
  11. Walk again.
  12. Surf my favorite blogs and go to bed.
LOL....are you bored yet?  See how far down the list "make a card" was??  So I had to make this easy peasy one using some pretty Shimelle Little by Little papers from American Craft and Perennial Birthday (again) because it was already sitting on my desk!

I used Laurel's Sketchy Saturday sketch:

The papers did most of the work.....check out this pretty wreath!  In hindsight, my flower is a bit too bright, but the Mint Macaron sentiment works perfectly!  I just hand-cut the curvy banner and adhered it with a couple of dimensionals!  I added a few sequins too!

I always need birthday cards, don't you?!  This will help build up my stash!

You never know what you'll find when you go yard saling with Grammy and Grampy!!

Everybody needs an orange plastic Halloween skeleton decoration!!  It was only a quarter!!  So happy you popped in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP399 Laurie's Sketch

Happy Sunday, all!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge!  Did you notice the latest number of our challenge?  #399?  That means #400 is coming up next week, so be sure to stay tuned for some fabulous-ness at the Players that week!  Anyway, for today's challenge, Laurie has a nice little sketch for us!  I wanted to make several cards using this one:

I've got two cards to show you with this sketch; this one is the more stepped-up version!  It's for the wedding of a young lady in our church; she's a bit younger than Dana and we have watched her grow up into a beautiful, talented, sweet girl!  I know she has blue in her wedding, so I pulled a floral from the Gardens Impression papers, added some layers and some florals from a new-to-me set, Perennial Birthday:

Lots of new goodies used here!  The Petal Pink layer was embossed with the Basketweave EF; the So Saffron layer was embossed with the Tufted EF.  I heat embossed the florals in white embossing powder and watercolored them in, and stamped a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Night of Navy ink directly on a piece of ribbon:

I stamped a wedding sentiment on the inside as well!

My next card is much cleaner and simpler; I used some background paper my friend Teri gifted me with, and added a sentiment from Perennial Birthday stamped in Gray Granite and diecut with the Stitched Framelits dies.  I had some of these glossy dot embellishments still in my stash, so I added a couple for interest:

So, two cards, same layout, different designs!  What will you come up with using this fun sketch?  Be sure to share your creation with us at the Players this week...can't wait to see what you come up with!

I have no idea how the karate stances are spelled, but this one sounds like "cheeri-up"!!  SO cheer-up and have a blessed day!

Swirly Snowflake Christmas

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Today is feeling more like fall than summer in SE PA!  Chilly rain and winds!  A perfect day to stay inside and clean my stamp room!!  We'll see if that actually happens!  I do have a Christmas card for the Jingle Belle's challenge this week, which is White Christmas.  My card is almost all white, I did add some Crumb Cake for contrast:

These Swirly Snowflake dies were on my wish list for a long time, but I felt they were probably too intricate and fussy, but when I saw they returned in the catalog this year, I decided to go for them!  They are just beautiful and not difficult to use at all, especially using the Die Brush to poke out all the little pieces!  I cut one layer of the intricate snowflakes, and another of the outline and layered them together, then placed them on a card I had embossed with a Darice snowflake embossing folder:

The sentiment from Better Together was stamped in Soft Suede and diecut with a Stitched Shapes circle die.  My only other embellishment was a white ribbon!  Easy peasy!

Some reading time with Grampy:

Did you know that dragons like tacos?!  According to the book, they do!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS342 Country Road Birthday

Happy Friday, everyone!  My schedule has so radically changed with having Cassidy for the summer, my stamping and commenting time is really wonky!  I apologize for not getting around to give everyone my usual comments!  I even set my alarm for 5am so I could sneak down into my craft room to make this card, LOL!  I got some new goodies and just had to play with them, so I used Amy's FMS sketch for this week to get me started!

I never have enough masculine stamps or cards, so I was excited to see Country Road and Gallery Grunge in the new catalog; those are the new goodies I used on my card, along with some Wood Textures DSP:

It's pretty straightforward; the weathervane was stamped on the lighter woodgrain DSP, with the grass behind it; the sentiment strip has an image from Gallery Grunge stamped over the sentiment, as well as some Merry Merlot faceted gems attached:

I stamped the inside with the sentiment that comes with the Country Road set along with some of the wagon wheels ( I am thinking they look like lemon slices....maybe I could get double use from this image, LOL!):

Now I have another masculine card to add to my stash!

Cassidy goes to karate two mornings a week while school is out...she's getting into it!

Lots of noise and action!  Thanks for popping in today and have a blessed weekend ahead!
