Happy Anniversary To Us!

DSCF7372

Happy Friday, everyone!  Today is our 16th anniversary, so I made John a card using SU’s new Moon Lake and the spotlight technique:

First, I diecut and embossed the edge of my Crumb Cake card, then stamped the image in Crumb Cake ink, along with some Gorgeous Grunge.  Then I stamped the image again on Whisper White cardstock in Stazon ink and watercolored it.  I punched it out with the 1 3/4” circle punch and aligned it over the first image:

This reminds me of our little dinghy; we use it to get out to our sailboat when it is on its mooring….unfortunately, we didn’t sail at all last year, so it’s actually sitting in our backyard, LOL!  I added a little banner sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, along with some Linen thread for an accent, then I adhered a cool piece of matching DSP from the Adventure Bound pack on the inside and added a sweet little sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts:

I didn’t write all my lovey-dovey stuff on it yet, saving you the embarrassment!  But I am entering this in the Kraft Journal challenge 206 this week:

I actually got everything except the ribbon, glitter and snowman!!  Cool challenge!  I also used the sketch from Mary Jo’s Technostamper Monday Lunchtime sketch:

Thanks for visiting today….we will be going out to dinner later tonight, something I am looking forward to VERY much!

I am looking forward to spring, so we can take these things OUTSIDE!!!

Thank You Times Five

DSCF7131

The Kraft Journal has a “thank you” challenge this week, and I do need several thank you cards!  I have a slew of Crumb Cake Note Card envelopes from a previous SU promotion, so I thought I would make a few simple note cards using some scraps I had on my craft table!  Almost all of them use the “thank you” from the SAB Lotus Blossom; it’s a great size for these note cards.

The first uses the lovely new set available today in the Occasions mini catalog called Moon Lake.  There are lots of cool masculine sets in this catalog, and this is my favorite!  This one uses the Canada goose image, watercolored and mounted on a card base stamped with Hardwood and sponged:

I love that the images are detailed, but easy to color; here is a chickadee, also watercolored:

I used the chalk marker to create the white areas, and I added a Strawberry Slush baker’s twine and Linen thread bow.

I had this scrap of DSP from last year’s mini laying around, along with a new butterfly diecut I had “practiced” on in Coastal Cabana, and the colors just happened to match, so I added a little piece of doily, some ribbon and a row of pearls:

I couldn’t do a set of Crumb Cake cards without doing a vintage one; this one uses the Shop Around wheel (ret) along with some Blushing Bride pleated ribbon and baker’s twine and the rest of the doily.  I also colored a wooden butterfly that was a gift from my friend Martha and adhered it to the top:

Since that little wooden butterfly is new, I am adding this one to the Shopping Our Stash challenge to use something new in 2015!

Finally, a little whimsical card with a touch of Valentine-ness to it!  This uses the photopolymer set Epic Alphabet, which is a fun set to use since it is so easy to line up!  It’s bigger than I anticipated, so my “thanks” took up the whole card!  I added a scrap from the Stacked with Love DSP, a few diecut hearts and a sweet red ribbon:

Thanks for visiting today!
