PP804 CAS Challenge from Christy

Hello, stamping friends! It's time for a new challenge from the Paper Players, with Christy as our hostess.  It's Clean and Simple time!  And what a fun one she has chosen: 

I don't have many bear stamps, but I did remember this little guy from Thankful Forest Friends.  I went looking for some "beary" sentiments and came up with this one from My Creative Time, so I made a Christmas card:

This is a little less CAS than I normally do, but hopefully it still qualifies!  I did some masking after stamping my little bear in Pecan Pie, adding some Soft Sea Foam trees from the retired Trees for Sale set.  The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler, so I added some Cherry Cobbler glimmer stars to match:

And of course, I embossed a Soft Sea Foam mat with Swirls of Magic for a fun background.  Another My Creative Time sentiment went on the inside, and since I had some leftover stars, they went on the inside too!

This bear reminds me of Masha and the Bear! Have you ever seen any of those cartoons?  They're Russian but they have them dubbed in English; Cassidy and I loved watching them. Masha sure knows how to get herself into trouble and the bear always rescues her just in time!  You can watch Jam Day on YouTube!!!  (We prefer the older ones, I haven't watched the newer ones!).  And since the CAS Christmas Card challenge is asking for Woodland Critters, I am entering it there as well!

FMS754 Deepest Sympathy

 Happy Thursday, all!  Unfortunately, we needed a sympathy card as our neighbor passed away. I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I used a couple of digital papers, a sentiment from Hero Arts, and a wee bit of twine:

I diecut the gingham with a scalloped die; the sympathy sentiment was diecut with a banner die, and I also embossed around the outer edge with a cross-stitch die:

The inside used a sentiment from Prayers & Promises:

Since it's pretty clean & simple, I'm also going to enter it at the Krafty Chicks this week:

Color Dare 719 Just Wanted to Say Hi

Happy Wednesday, peeps! My card today uses the colors from Color My Heart Color Dare #719:

What a pretty combo! I was looking through some of my background stamps recently and realized I haven't been using them at all, so I pulled out an old Cornish Heritage Farms one, along with the retired Color and Contour stamp set:

I stamped the background in Soft Sea Foam, then added the flowers in Lost Lagoon and Pool Party, giving the leaves a little was of Soft Sea Foam too.  I added a wee little bit of Elements of Text on the background of the arch, then a sentiment from Unity. The placement of the sentiment didn't quite hit the mark on the stitched strip, but, it is what it is! A little rhinestone sticky finished it off:

AHSC699 Autumn Wishes

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Another fall card today, since I still had this CTMH stamp set out on my desk and had actually stamped a few images that were sitting there unused!  It's for our latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge:

I had already stamped my pumpkin in Baked Brown Sugar, so after fussy-cutting it out, I stamped four more pumpkins in different fall colors, cut out each panel and glued them together:

I added some Crumb Cake leaves that were sponged and speckled, and a sentiment from the same set, stamped in Cajun Craze.  Everything went on a Very Vanilla panel embossed with the Stone and Vine embossing folder; I like how it complements the diecut leaves as well as the leaves on the strip of DSP:

After adding some sequins, I stamped the pumpkin again on the inside using Timid Tiger ink:

This will probably be another fall birthday card!

PP803 Colorful Crayons

Howdy, peeps!  I am the hostess this week at the Paper Players, and I am sure I had fall leaves on my mind when I set up this color challenge: 

But as usual, I veered off in another direction. Not sure if I am happy with the final outcome, but I think the child who receives my card won't really mind!  I am squeaking it in at the last minute for the fun CAS Colors & Sketches challenge from Amanda for this week:

So here we go:

I used the Spellbinders Crayon Creations set for my crayons, stamping and diecutting each one with the matching dies. They were backed with a stamped shape from Watercolor Shapes.  A sentiment from Simon Says Stamp created the sentiment panel, and I dotted the "i" with a little star embellishment and added some red ribbon:

I used the Swirls of Magic embossing folder again--really, it's good for so many occasions---and mounted it on a Real Red card base.  Here's the inside:

Copper Pumpkin

 Happy Saturday, everyone! Hope you're having a good weekend so far!  I have a card to share for the FMS challenge as well as the Seize the Birthday challenge of having a sentiment strip.  

I pulled out an older CTMH stamp set, got it inky, and here we go:

The pumpkin is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, and although the circle behind it looks black, it's actually copper foil!  It looks great with the Brown Sugar and I added a copper cord bow as well:

You also can't tell but I heat embossed the sentiment from Lily of the Valley in Copper embossing powder.  The background panels are Baked Brown Sugar, embossed with the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder and sponged with Brown Sugar ink, and Woodgrain Wonder DSP.  Another sentiment from the Lily set went on the inside:

I had cataract surgery on Thursday and I didn't really know if I'd be able to stamp for a few days or not, but it seems to be okay.  I am still blurry on the distance vision, but my doctor said that was normal!  Keeping my fingers crossed!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI381 Color Challenge

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you have some fun stuff planned for the weekend!  It's time for a color challenge at As You See It, and this one is quite striking: 

I really had no clue what to do with this challenge, but I remembered a set from Colorado Craft and a little light bulb went off! I normally do not go quite as literal with my stamping, but this one just had to be:

I first embossed a piece of Basic Gray cardstock with a Tim Holtz Brick embossing folder, adding some dimension by swiping my Basic Gray ink pad on the inside of the folder before embossing.  I then stamped my door on some Azure Afternoon cardstock, gave it a little watercolor shading and fussy-cut it out.  The little kitties were stamped, watercolored and also fussy-cut, then they were all mounted on an Azure Afternoon mat and white card base.

I didn't want my sentiment to overpower my design, so a simple hello from an old Flourishes set worked fine!  I have been updating all my stamps in a database, adding sentiments so I can find one when I need it, and I have forgotten a lot of my older stamps, so it was nice to give this one some love!  

I know this is a challenging color combo, but I enjoyed thinking outside the box a bit and I hope you will too!  Play along with us at As You See It!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB280 Happy Fall

 Happy Wednesday, peeps! I pulled out a real oldie for today's card, which is for the Retro Rubber sketch:

I came across this set from 1999 called Fall For All, which features those sweet little line art images I loved so much when I first started stamping:

I stamped my little sweetie in Stazon ink on watercolor paper and colored her in with an aquapainter and reinkers:

I added a few punched out leaves from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set (2020) to scatter around the outside of my image.  The papers are retired Crushed Curry and Garden Green DSPs, and I diecut around the outer edge of my Very Vanilla card with the Stitched With Whimsy die!  The sentiment on the banner is from Close to My Heart's Autumn Blessings, which I know I have had for several years!

I left the inside blank but I'll probably make this a birthday card!  I just love her little face!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Fall is My Favorite Color

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Hope you had a lovely holiday weekend! It certainly had a nip of fall in the air, but I know that September can have some warm days, so I'm not putting away my shorts quite yet!!  I did make a fall card for you today; I recently purchased some pretty digital papers and just had to put them to use!  I matched them with the Honey Bee Blessings of Fall stamp set:

I stamped the sentiment in Pecan Pie on Crumb Cake cardstock, then mounted it on a diecut Pale Payap panel that was blended with Cajun Craze ink, then overstamped with a script stamp from Elements of Text:

I added some sequins along with a couple of punched glimmer paper leaves!  It all went on a card base of Copper Clay; I left the inside plain for whatever occasion may arise!

AHSC698 Trick or Treat

Happy Monday, everyone!  And Happy Labor Day!  Time for a new challenge from Atlantic Hearts!  Here we go: 

I haven't done any Halloween cards yet, so I decided to remedy that!  I found some spooky prints and went to work:

I am a little on the fence about this card, but it has so many layers and parts I just couldn't start over, LOL!  The papers are actually some retired Christmas papers called Lights Aglow. I diecut a rectangle out of one side and flipped it over, matted it with some glimmery golden-hued paper and mounted it back on top.  I added a Starburst circle and stars diecut from the same glimmery paper.  The vellum panel was embossed with the new SU Swirls of Magic embossing folder, and I swiped some Smoky Slate ink across it to give it some depth.  Finally, my sentiment from My Creative Time was stamped on a Crushed Curry banner:

I did add some gold Blooming Pearls, then stamped the inside:

PP802 Theme Challenge from Joanne

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for a new theme challenge for the Players, and Joanne is our hostess this week!  Since her birthday is coming up, she chose "Candles" as her theme!  And it doesn't have to be birthday candles--any candle is okay!

I only have a few candle stamps and dies, and they didn't really do anything for me, but I remembered a pad of  heavy paper that I had featuring all kinds of birthday papers in bright colors and GLITTER!  So a few snips and some glue and I made two cards:

This is just one panel from one page; I trimmed off the "celebrate" strip and mounted it with some dimensionals.  It all went on a Granny Apple Green card base.

A Simply Said sentiment, stamped in Azure Afternoon (which turned green on the cardstock, LOL) went on the inside:

LRW874 Aw Shucks!

Happy Friday, peeps! I have been busily making cards this week but not posting anything!  I finally did get a chance to make a card for a friend who recently had some surgery.  The Little Red Wagon challenge is looking for anything farm-related, and as I was going through all my stamps, I remembered this fun image from Unity and it seemed to have a good sentiment too:

My friend is not "sick" so "Get Well Soon" didn't really fit the bill, but I thought she would get a kick of out of this sentiment!  I used some digital gingham paper cut out with the Perennial Postage die, and a Nellie Snellie die set for the sentiment.  I added a wee bit of black & white twine for fun.  The set is Funny Farm by Unity:

I am struggling lately with photogaphing my cards!  Nothing looks quite right....I guess I need to fool around with some backgrounds to see which ones make the whites look really white!  Anyway, thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
