AHSC594 Happy Halloween Boo!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Time for a new sketch from Atlantic Hearts, and here it is:

I went old-school here and pulled out some stamps and papers that I've had for a while to create a Halloween card:

The papers are from Carta Bella; I cut some Watermelon Wonder paper with a scallop-edged die and mounted it all on a card base of Basic Beige.  Before mounting, I stamped some little bats all along the edge! I believe the vintage Halloween sentiment is from an old Recollections set....can't be 100% sure!  The "boo" is from Scary Cute and the "happy" is from The Paper Studio.  I stamped it on a diecut banner and it just seemed too big, so I did some creative folding to make it stand up, but still lie flat in the envelope!

I added some big enamel dots, and a sentiment from Close To My Heart's Hello Pumpkin on the inside:

Fun sentiment, fun card, fun sketch!  I hope you'll play along with us at Atlantic Hearts!

You Are My Sunshine

Happy Saturday, peeps! I have a quick card to post before my stampers get here this morning!  It fulfills three challenges: TGIF is looking for a pocket full of posies; As You See It wants to know what  color I use the least is; and CAS on Sunday wants sunshine!

So here we go:

I knew right away I would choose yellow as my least-used color! It's not that I dislike it, I just don't gravitate towards it very often.  And that fit in perfectly with a sunshine theme!  And I admit that when I looked at the TGIF challenge, I missed the "posies" part of it, but perhaps my little image on my tag could be a sunflower?!  The sentiment is from the retired Ridiculously Awesome set, stamped in Daffodil Delight on Lemon Lolly cardstock:

I created a pocket with one of the Timeless Tag dies, stamped a sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin on the front and added some yellow embellishments:

I then added a tag to tuck into the pocket, using the same Paper Pumpkin set to stamp the sunshine-shaped flower and added a gingham center.  The sentiment is from a Paper Studio set.

I also embossed the front with the Stitched With Whimsy die for fun.  My friend just went through some surgery, so this is going to her to cheer her up!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

inspire.Create#162 Yee Haw!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Today I'm playing with the Inspire.Create challenge to CASE their designer!  Here's the card they want us to CASE:

I've been trying to make some masculine birthday cards to have on hand, as well as use up some scraps of scrapbook paper I have, so I looked in my stash and decided to make a cowboy-themed card! Here we go:

This retired Yee Haw set is one I'll never part with! Such a fun array of images and sentiments!  I used some papers from Authentique's Frontier Collection, cutting out the circles with the Stylish Shapes dies and arranging them on some gingham paper.  I stamped, colored and fussy-cut the sentiment, the popped it on top of some leather-looking paper and added a rope embellishment:

I combined a sentiment from the set along with some words from Paper Studio's Everyday Expressions for the inside:

Another one to add to my b-day stash!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

KCC689 Velveteen Rabbit

Happy Thursday, stamping friends!  I recently got this stamp from Unity because The Velveteen Rabbit was one of my all-time favorite stories from my childhood!  Such fond memories! And yet I don't think I ever read it to Dana or Cassidy...sadly!  Anyway, it's a sweet little retro image, so I stamped it on some Crumb Cake cardstock, gave it a bit of vintage shabbiness, and here we go:

I watercolored him in with Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand inks, then added a little brightness with a white watercolor pencil.  I masked him off, then stamped various vintage holiday sentiments lightly in the background and then used some Pecan Pie ink to add shading:

The sentiment is from the same set, diecut with a Stylish Shapes die and shabbied up as well; the "hanger" is a stitched strip from Reverse Confetti, and it is hanging on a piece of Very Vanilla velveteen ribbon.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler which was embossed with the Quilt Top embossing folder:

The inside was stamped with an old Cornish Heritage Farms Christmas sentiment:

The Krafty Chicks' challenge this week is Christmas, so I am going to enter this there!

Speaking of vintage, I follow Ms Bingle; she takes old pieces of jewelry and whatnot and creates new items from them; I happened to see this lovely mermaid and I know my sister likes kitschy, beachy retro stuff, so I checked out Ms Bingle's Etsy Shop thinking I might get it for her:

Yikes!  $300!  I told my sister I love her but not quite that much, LOL!  But while you're there, check out her items....it's a fun little trip!  Thanks for visiting today---enjoy it and be blessed!

IB219 Mountains

Happy Friday, everyone!  I have another masculine card today---January just seems to be the month for them!  Laurel's Inspired By challenge is GORGEOUS...those big cables make me want to knit something...but I chose to use just the sketch for this particular card.  Here are the prompts:

I pulled out a couple of  Tim Holtz dies and went to work:

This is quite a change from my normal style of card, but I like the final result for a masculine birthday.  I created the mountains with Basic White, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Soft Stone (PTI) cardstocks; the trees are Mossy Meadow.

I used some Smoky Slate DSP and some Tim Holtz letters for the "HB".  Words are from the Paper Studio.  Enamel dots were the final addition.  The inside will read "Mountains of blessings on your birthday!"

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Happy Fall to My Friend

Happy Friday, peeps!  Wowza, fall has fallen in my neck of the woods....I know these temps and wind will go back to normal soon but right now it is definitely feeling "fallish"!  I thought I would visit my friends at As You See It because they have a really fun sketch this week and I wanted to incorporate the Just Add Ink challenge in there too!

So I chose masking and friend as my two choices for my card today, and I pulled out a lot of different stamps to create it!  Here we go:

My Buffalo Check background stamp with inked with a combination of Sahara Sand and Tim Holtz's Antique Linen inks, then I stamped my pumpkins in Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzaza, Antique Linen and Lost Lagoon inks, masking each one as I went along.  The sentiments are a combination of SU (Biggest Wish and Endless Birthday Greetings), Papertrey (Wreath for All Season) and Paper Studio (Everyday Expressions), all stamped in  Lost Lagoon:

I used some Burlap Ribbon on which to put my little circular sentiment and I also embossed the panel with the Subtle EF!

I enjoyed getting all my stamps inky for this fun card!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

I found a new bird on my walk yesterday morning...there were several of these flitting around my neighbor's tree and they actually didn't fly away as I took a picture!  My camera does not photograph very well, so they're not clear, and I still am not 100% sure as to what kind of bird it was!  The consensus on my birding FB page was a Tennessee Warbler, but whatever it was, it was fun to watch!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB176 Lilac Sympathy

Happy Thursday, all!  We have a lovely floral inspiration photo for you today at Inspired By:

Well, I don't have any lilac stamps, but I did find some hyacinth ones in my W+9 Spring Blessings set, so I stamped and diecut several of the images to create a sympathy card for a close friend:

Purple hues are ones I don't gravitate to, but I did enjoy playing with these!  I used Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape to create these, along with some Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose for the pink ones!  The leaves were stamped with Soft Seafoam and Soft Succulent:

My little wooden crate was stamped with Sahara Sand and Smoky Slate and embellished with some Linen thread.  The circular background is some digital gingham and it fits the optional sketch for this week:

Finally, I stamped a two-color sentiment on a Tailored Tag and layered it on top of the card base, which was embossed with the Pinewood Planks EF.  It got a Linen thread bow as well as an In Color Jewel, which I also added to some of the flowers.

Thanks so much for visiting today!  I hope you'll play along with our pretty floral inspiration...you can use the flowers, colors or just the sketch!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

CTD576 and TSOT440 John's Anniversary

Happy Saturday, everyone!  We are finally supposed to get some snow today---just in time for my Hostess party tomorrow!  The weatherman promises it is all going to get washed away by tomorrow!  We'll see!

I'm sharing the card I made for John for our anniversary; it uses the Try Stampin On Tuesday sketch as well as the Color Throwdown colors:

I used the lighthouse image from Sailing Home for the focal point, and since there is a bit of ocean splash at the bottom, I guess it qualifies for the "wet" part of the challenge too:

I began with a large stitched circle of Naturals White cardstock.  On it, I stamped the lighthouse in Night of Navy and birds in Pretty Peacock, then diecut the lighthouse out and offset it against the cut opening; I added some Denim ribbon behind so that it would peek through the opening:

I added a background of Pretty Peacock DSP and mounted it on a Honey Nut card base (Papertrey).  I also diecut a sentiment with the Stitched Nested Labels dies, adding a Honey Nut mat as well.  The inside was stamped with a Technique Tuesday sentiment with some other words from Paper Studio added in:

He loved it!  Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Twofer Wreath Challenge #11

Hi peeps! I am running very late today...I have my last stamp club of 2018 tonight so I spent the morning getting ready, and this colder weather has my allergies acting up!!  Anyone else "suffering" the same way?  I think it's all those yucky wet leaves!  Anyway, I got a very little bit of stamping time in over the weekend and made a couple cards for the Twofer Card Challenge, in which I have never participated!  My friend Carol is a guest designer there, so I decided to give it a try!  They're extremely CAS because that's all the energy I had, LOL!  So here we go:

I used Fun Stampers Journey's Harvest Wreath for the wreath; the wreath on the Thanksgiving card was stamped with Soft Suede ink and embellished with some faceted gems from Amber Moon; sadly, the photo just doesn't capture how pretty they are here:

My diecut sentiment was from the same set, stamped in Cajun Craze and overstamped with a stamp from Timeless Textures; the together was from The Paper Studio:

I finished it off with a Braided Linen Twine bow:

My second card is a Christmas card; the wreath was stamped in Soft Sea Foam, and the sentiment was stamped in Balmy Blue:

I colored some pearls with a Pink Pirouette Blend and added a Powder Pink bow:

And since the Christmas Card Throwdown's challenge is to use pink, green and blue, I am entering this one in their challenge as well!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Cassidy snagged another sunrise photo from her kitchen deck this morning:

And here is a sunrise photo my brother took very early one morning over the fountains of Longwood Gardens:

FMS343 Vintage Snowmen

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I have a quick little Christmas card today; I let the paper do most of the work on this one!  It uses the FMS sketch from Jen T:

and some fun coordinating vintage-style papers that came from.....I don't remember!  I think I bought this as a kit on Etsy!  Sorry!  Anyway, here we go:

My card base is Soft Sea Foam and I used a Papertrey die for the "Holiday", cut in Real Red. The words are stamped in Tranquil Tide, and I added a little baker's twine bow and some sequins from my stash!

I just love how that snowman is waving, right by the "hello"!  A happy coincidence!  The inside uses a little scrap of the printed paper and a sentiment from SU's retired Warmth and Wonder:

I am also entering this in The Merry Christmas challenge of Anything Goes!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Some pool time fun from last week....although it's going to rain today, no pool for us today!!!:
