Merry Monday 77

DSCF8252

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend.  We went to DH’s 40th HS reunion!  I didn’t know too many people but he had a blast, so that’s all that matters!  It was a beautiful weekend, too, so that was an added bonus!

Lesley’s inspiration for today’s Merry Monday challenge is a real cutie:

Cute, cute, cute!  So many ways to be inspired!  I chose to use those sweet little gingerbread men on my card today:

I am wishing I had used Garden Green instead of Glorious Green for my dark green, but I am not going to change it now, LOL!  I used this week’s sketch 27  from Fab Friday for my layout:

and here’s the inside:

Cute, fun & easy!  Hope you’ll play along with us….I am sure you’ll have fun with the colors and inspiration photo!  Can’t wait to see what you create!

Over the weekend, Dana took Cassidy to Steppingstone Farm Museum in Havre de Grace, MD.  (One of these days, I’ll get there too!)  Here’s a picture of Cassidy on a 1952 Farmall tractor, which will make both her daddy and great-granddaddy very happy!!!:

Merry Monday 23

 DSCF0981

Happy Monday, peeps!  It’s time for Lesley’s Merry Monday sketch challenge!  Use her sketch every week, and soon you’ll have lots of cards for the Christmas holidays!  Here’s our sketch 23:

I finally broke open the pack of Be of Good Cheer DP that I received and I kind of went overboard with it!!!

Merry Monday 23

This is a bit of a departure from my normal style, but I just couldn’t help myself---the prints and colors of this paper are so fun to work with!  I used a retired tag image from Christmas Punch, stamped twice; once in Cherry Cobbler and again in Gumball Green, and then cut out the hat and adhered it to the tag.  I mounted it on a circular base of Gumball Green and added some cool Gumball Green stitched ribbon and a glimmer brad:

Of course, he had to have some “snow” of Dazzling Diamonds glitter!!!  My sentiment is from Four the Holidays, which I am sad to say is retired as well!  I hope that you’ll be able to play with us this week over at Always Playing with Paper, which hosts the Merry Monday challenge, and peek at the other creations as well!

I don’t have any Cassidy photos today---but I did snag a few pix of a snapping turtle at my neighbor’s pond.  (Sorry, I know that’s not as fun as Cassidy!)   Every spring we usually see one; sometimes it comes all the way across our yard, down across our stream, across the road, and eventually makes it to his pond:

As soon as he saw me coming, he plopped in the water so fast, I couldn’t get another shot. Although judging by the grass “skirt”, it may be a “she”!!!  Maybe next year!  Have a happy week!

Merry Monday 11

 DSCF8070

I am squeaking in my Christmas card this week under the wire, as I haven’t felt much like stamping with my hacky cold.  I had a piece of glossy white paper already stamped with the Musical Notes wheel, so I used it and the Merry Monday Sketch 11:

for my card:

I used the Adorning Accents framelits on either side of the panel and used a little leftover piece of glossy white, embossed with the Stripes EF,  for my horitzonal piece.  Pretty simple, and another one to add to my stash!

Adios!

Paper Players 60

PP60 banner

Happy Sunday everyone!  It’s Paper Players time and this week I am the hostess!  With Lesley’s help, I made my first sketch!  I hope you’ll play with us this week!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

I took the opportunity to make another Christmas card for my stash using some new stuff—Well Worn designer paper—as well as some old stuff—the reindeer from Winter Post.  Although it is difficult to see, my little reindeer are heat embossed:

I don’t have Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, but I do have clear embossing powder, so I inked my stamp in Versamark, then Cherry Cobbler ink, then stamped it on River Rock cardstock.  I sprinkled the clear EP on top, heated it up and voila—Cherry Cobbler embossing!  You can use this technique with any color ink—just be sure to clean your stamp between each stamping!!!!  I used the Music Notes wheel for my background on the Very Vanilla panel as well as part of the Well Worn panel, and added some of that sweet new quilted ribbon that will be available in the Holiday Mini:

The inside also uses a new set that will be available in the mini, Sounding Joy:
