Fusion Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hopping in here very quickly with a sweet little card that uses the Fusion sketch challenge, because it is my FAVORITE sketch of all and my go-to one when I am stressed for time or ideas!:

I needed a quick birthday card, so I pulled out my Hues of Happiness DSP and let it do most of the work:

I used the Blossoming Happiness dies to cut out a rose and some greenery from another piece of the DSP, and popped it up on top of a Night of Navy strip that was diecut with the spiral strip Blossoming Happiness die:

I added some gems and a sentiment from Happiness Abounds, then added another sentiment and a flower stamped in Versamark on the inside of the Pool Party card:

And this one is in the mail!

As I was running errands today, I came across this pretty image that was on the side of a building; this town has cool murals on many of its buildings, but this was the first time I had seen this one..so nice!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP615 Happy 90th Birthday

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge, where Anne Marie has a Tic-Tac-Toe grid for us, since it's the fifth Sunday!  Check it out:

My dad's cousin is turning ninety and a special celebration is on tap for him, so I thought I'd use the center column of die-cut, texture and birthday as my tic-tac-toe!  And here we go:

I had a little scrap of the Rings of Love DSP in my stash, so I started with that, adding a mat of Soft Suede and mounting on a Cinnamon Cider card base that was embossed with the Timber embossing folder.  I stamped the bear from Thankful Forest Friends and fussy-cut him out, then stamped the border on a diecut piece of Basic White.  I added a sentiment and numbers as well as a few metallic elements and it was done!

Added a quick little sentiment on the inside:

I hope you'll play along with us and our tic-tac-toe grid this week!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at the Paper Players, and check out what the design team created as well!

Thursday night the town where Cassidy takes karate lessons had their annual Halloween parade, and her karate class participated:

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Cupcake Spinner Card

Hi peeps!  Just a fun little spinner card today for a little girl at our church!  I haven't made one of these for a while, and I needed a wee bit of a refresher for the instructions but it came back to me quickly!  I used some Celebrate Everything DSP and an old Papertrey cupcake set for the spinner:

I know this girl loves pink and purple, so I chose this DSP and stamped the cupcake in Polished Pink and added sentiments in Highland Heather:

Mounted everything on a Highland Heather card base and stamped a birthday greeting on the inside!  Hope she likes it!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Two CAS Cards

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Almost the weekend!  Sadly, I needed a couple of sympathy cards this week, I'll share one here;  it uses the sketch from FMS and the color palette from Color Dare:

So here we go:

The circular image is the Skeleton Leaf from Sweet n Sassy stamps; the leaves were cut from Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya and Roccoco Rose cardstocks with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves die.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts:

I stamped a simple Bible verse on the inside, it's from Stamp Simply:

My second card today is a quick Christmas card; it uses the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I have a few rolls of washi tape that I thought would be fun to use; even the sentiment is washi tape:

I had been playing with a Spellbinder bird die, so I thought I'd make a little diecut cardinal to embellish it:

A simple sentiment from Unity Stamp was stamped on the inside:

I've already started moving my spent flower pots to behind our shed, pulling out dead flowers and such, so imagine my surprise when I went to empty our recycle and saw this little pansy popping out of a cleaned-out pot! I didn't even plant pansies this year!  I have no idea how it got there:

But it was a sweet little gift from heaven!  Thanks so much for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC496 Thank You

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Today is my busy day-errands, working at church, grocery--trying to make all my trips on one day to save on gas, right? I had a very relaxed day yesterday but I did make one card for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:

The sketch had a lot of elements in it and I wasn't sure if I felt motivated enough to create something that detailed, but I did need a thank you card for a customer, so I pulled out Cottage Wreath and the matching Country Wreath dies and went to work!  First, I just diecut a punch of leave and foliage pieces and then put them in my pre-cut diecut templates in my Stamparatus so I could stamp them easily.  Did the same with the wreath shape and finally decided on what papers to use!  So here we go:

I may have gone a wee bit overboard with the foliage...but I kept tucking things in here and there and I finally decided I'd better stop! I did find that using Glue Dots to adhere the smaller pieces is much neater than trying to use glue! The card base is Crushed Curry with a mat of He's the Man DSP.  I embossed and sponged a panel of Very Vanilla with the Pinewood Planks EF, then cut four 3/8" pieces of some plaid DSP for the horizontal elements.  I stamped the wreath in Crumb Cake and added "foliage" in Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze, then a few more elements in the same colors:

The sentiment is from the retired Teeny Tiny Wishes, and I added some Faceted Gems and gold rhinestones for fun!  It's already in the mail!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

MTCC66 Jolly Christmas

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend! My card today uses the sketch from Make The Cards Challenge:

and since I recently got the Jingle Jingle Jingle set, I though it would be a great sketch to highlight one of those fun sentiments!  So here we go:

I stamped the Jolly outline in the retired Emerald Envy ink and the inner portion in Poppy Parade.  I tried to get the other words in the set to fit on my Stitched Nested Label panel, but it just wasn't working, so I ended up adding some words from an older Christmas set (I believe it's from My Favorite Things but it's not marked) and embellishing the panel with some stamped images from Jingle set:

I added another Emerald Envy panel, trimmed, behind my main panel to mimic the shape in the sketch a little better.  Another older set, Jar of Cheer, provided the inside sentiment!

This was a fun set to use and easy to line up, so I am sure you'll be seeing more of it!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP614 Gather Together

Hello stampers!  Happy Sunday!  This week, Ann is our hostess at the Paper Players and she has a fabulous sketch:

This card came together quickly, as I already had the wreath and the pumpkin assembled!  I put them together and thought they looked pretty good, so off I went:

The wreath is from Cottage Wreaths, stamped with Soft Suede on Crumb Cake cardstock.  The pumpkin is a new-to-me die from Papertrey, diecut and sponged in Pumpkin Pie with some Old Olive leaves.  Everything went on some Soft Suede DSPs:

The sentiment, stamped in Soft Suede also, is from the retired Pretty Pumpkins stamp set:

And the inside sentiment is from the retired Day of Thanks set:

I hope you'll play along with our fun sketch this week...sketches are my favorite!  There are lots of possibilities with this one too!  Be sure to hop over to the Paper Players to see the fun creations from the design team too!  Then share yours with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Fusion Trick or Treat

Happy Saturday, all!  I believe this will probably be my last Halloween card of the season, LOL!  The Fusion challenge is a fun one; I only used the sketch only:

This silhouette image of vintage Halloweeners is also one of my favorites that I try to use every year, but I may have missed last year!  So here it is again, along with a plaid banner and some spooky moon-lit skyline paper! I had to flip the sketch so my little trick-or-treaters weren't blocked by the banner:

I believe this image is from `100 Proof Press, I just think it's so cute!

The plaid stamp is from Concord & 9th; the sentiment is from Recollections, an oldie but goodie.

Thanks for popping in today!

The family went to the last high school football game of the season; Cassidy immediately made a beeline for her friends, so no pictures of her!

It was cold and crisp, a perfect night for football!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTD715 Fall Forever Fern

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, it's the weekend!  I needed a thank you card, and when I saw the Color Throwdown palette, I thought I would start there!  The colors could be for Halloween but I chose instead to create a fall-ish card using Forever Fern.  Here's the palette:

And here's my card:

I stamped the images in Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive, diecutting some to put in the foreground.  I added some speckles and a sentiment from Friends are Like Seashells, and a bow from Cottage Wreaths:

I added two borders from some Old Olive DSP, one a stripe and one a polka dot which qualifies it (barely) for the Little Red Wagon challenge of dots/stripes!  And it's already out in the mail!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy came over for a couple of hours last weekend and I helped her make a cake for math class!  They are learning fractions, so she had to choose a recipe that had at least four ingredients that were fractions!  She chose Kim's Buttermilk Spice Cake and thankfully I had all the ingredients!  She's pretty good on the fractions, and even knew how to substitute when one of the measuring cups had already been used!  She did a great job but took the cake home before it was iced...Grampy was  upset because he wanted a piece, so maybe I'll make one today for him!

Thanks for stopping in today..enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS558 You Are A Blessing

Happy Thursday, everyone!  October is Pastor Appreciation month so I used the FMS sketch to make a simple card for my pastor and his wife; they both prefer clean designs, so this is what I came up with:

Here's the sketch (love things in THREES!):

I stamped the three wheat images from Papertrey in Crumb Cake, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider, and the sentiment in Soft Suede:

After stamping the images, I diecut them with a zigzag-edged die from W+9.  The little swirl is from a retired Paper Pumpkin kit.  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC294 Boo!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Have you finished making all your Halloween cards? Do you even send out Halloween cards? I love making them, but only cute/semi-scary ones!  Creepy gory ones not allowed!  The Sunday Stamps sketch this week gave me a perfect background on which to make a fun little Halloween wreath!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I used some retired papers to create the banner and the horizontal panel, then stamped my wreath from Cottage Wreaths in Pumpkin Pie and Memento Black, then diecut it out.  I added the little "boo" on a diecut tag with some black embroidery floss and a little spider as an embellishment:

While going through my stamps, I found this cute little image from the retired set, Gift Givers!  So cute!  I stamped and watercolored it, then cut it out (not sure what happened to the matching punch!!!) and adhered it to the inside:

Quick and easy and ready to mail!  I am also entering this at the Double D challenge of orange and black!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!
