WT316 & CDACsc20

DSCF0289

For today’s SCS WT316 challenge, we were to use flowers!  That’s an easy one!  I actually did two!

The first one is an Easter card using a digi from Arielle; if you are a member of Crafters Digital Art Center, you can get it free!  I used her sketch as well:

CDACsc20 (1)

And here’s my card:

DSCF0287

I struggled a little with the sketch—I love it, but I think I just didn’t have the right proportions, and my yellow Copic selection is limited!    My next card is a Christmas card, and I intended to make it for the jingle belles Holly & Ivy challenge, but I was too late!  I still am happy with it, it was a nice, easy CAS card to make:

DSCF0291

The paper did most of the work!  I did cut out a corner poinsettia and popped it up on dimensionals so that the sentiment could slide underneath:

DSCF0292

Another one for my stash!   I don’t have any baby pix to share today, but hopefully I’ll take some later on after her nap.  Thanks for visiting today!  And I hit 300 subscribers, so I will be having some BLOG CANDY next week!  Stay tuned!

Color Throwdown 135 & Farewell

DSCF0227

Happy Wednesday!  Barbara is our hostess for the CTD this week with this fun palette:

swatch 135

As always, we invite you to play using any brand of paper or stamps, just please stick to the colors above.  All the details can be found on the CTD blog

I had some cute pictures of the baby from Valentine’s day, but the colors weren’t really right to complement Barbara’s colors, so I printed them in sepia to make this 12x12 page:

DSCF0232

It’s always tough to photograph something this large, especially with all the “activity” going on here!  I’ll break it down a bit:

DSCF0228

The base is a piece of Love Letter paper with a grid design, that already had a black flourish on the corner; I added some heat-embossed hearts, some diecut-embossed hearts, butterflies and swirls, and a little diecut tag.

I also added some embossed diecut flowers, embellished with butterflies as well!  Even though it is a bit busy, I just love it!  Now, we’d love to see what you do with these colors!  Be sure to share your creation with us over at the CTD blog, where you can also see all the other designers’ creations as well:

  • Stamps:  Always
  • Paper:  VV, Real Red, Basic Black, So Saffron Patterns & Love Letter DP
  • Ink:  Black Craft

Also, I wanted to let you know that this is my last week as a permanent member of the CTD team.  Ever since Tammy first asked me to participate, I have had an incredible experience with a wonderful, creative, crazy bunch of women, and an even more incredible time seeing all the beautiful cards and projects that you, our readers, have created!  I will be playing with them occasionally, but need to spend a little more time with my family!  Here’s a little “blast from the past” showing a few of my favorite CTD cards, including my very first one from July 9, 2008, (of which I was the hostess), featuring Sage Shadow, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink!

ColourQ 78

DSCF0257

It’s Tuesday, and that means another ColourQ challenge! Today’s soft colors had me running to some BG Porcelain paper……I just love candy colors like this:

cqc78

And here’s my card:

CQC78_LeAnne-1

Although the pinks in this paper are a bit darker than the challenge, it was too pretty to pass up! (I just love to let the paper do the work!) I had the “lace” already cut from another project, so I added a little border ribbon of Whisper White, shabby flower & leaf (all from the BG paper), a bird cut from the Merry Details diecut, and I blinged it up with a line of rhinestones. A tiny bit of stamping on the corners of my Crumb Cake card with the vine from Fresh Cuts, and my card was done! We hope you can play along too with these yummy candy colors! Be sure to check back at the CQC blog to see what the designers and the participants have come up with! Happy Stamping!

SSSC110

DSCF0270-1

I haven’t played with one of Karen Giron’s sketches for a long time, and when I saw it this morning, I knew it would be perfect for a Graphics Fairy digital that I printed off over the weekend. Here’s the sketch:

SSSC110

And here is my card, another sewing-themed one, I’m afraid:

DSCF0270

I did replace the oval with a circle, since I was afraid the oval would cover up too much of my image and the sentiment from CS seemed to fit the circle better! Image is colored with Copics, and her dress was paper pieced; I sewed around each of the DP panels.

  • Paper: Naturals Ivory, VV, Not Quite Navy, Material Girl, Cosmo Cricket; unknown scrap

Paper Players 40

DSCF0223-1

Happy Sunday to you! Nance is your hostess for the Paper Players today, and she has brought you a nice sketch again:

March Sketch-001 (1)

I took a little artistic liberty with my card and moved a couple of the elements; I hope that Nance won’t mind! I needed a birthday card for my SIL and she likes to sew, so I made a real quick card incorporating the corner of a piece of DP from the Sew Suite collection:

DSCF0223

I just love how that little needle & thread comes around the corner! I made a tag with the Tags & More diecut, but it was a little longer than I wanted so I repositioned it on top of the cutting area and ran it through my Big Shot again to get a smaller tag:

DSCF0220

I cut a tiny smidge out of the tag and adhered it over the needle so that it would look as if the needle was sewing through the tag!!! Corny, I know!! The little piece left from the “recut” was adhered to the back of the button card and used to fasten the Pear Pizzazz seam binding:

DSCF0224

Since the colors were soft, I used Sahara Sand to stamp all my images instead of black; I think it adds a more feminine touch! Although I did stamp the sentiments on the inside in Stazon Black:

DSCF0222

Hope you have a chance to play along with the other Paper Players using this sketch! Be sure to check out all the samples at the Paper Players blog—Happy Stamping!!!

  • Stamps: Sew Suite, Bring on the Cake, Tiny Tags
  • Paper: WW, So Saffron, Sew Suite & Pear Pizzazz Patterns DP
  • Ink: Stazon Black, Sahara Sand
  • Acc: Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding, Buttons and Tags & More Diecuts, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, thread, dimensionals

Club Cards

DSCF0186

Thought I would share the two cards my hostess club members made this month. The first one featured the Framed Tulips embossing folder done as a square instead of a rectangle, and the silhouette image from Easter Blossoms:

DSCF0186-1

Edited to add: I learned to make the square embossed piece from my creative friend Donna at Butternut Sage. You can see a video of it here. We made a little “ruffle” of Newsprint DP at the bottom, and her basket was filled with Easter egg pearls!

The next one featured the Black Magic technique. A bold image was stamped in Craft white ink on Basic Black cardstock, then colored with SU colored pencils. This highlighted the SAB set Punch Bunch, the In Color Peach Parfait, and the Elegant Lines embossing folder:

DSCF0180

I think everyone really enjoyed these; I know I did!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!!!

Cards from Friends

It is going to be quite a hectic day today, so instead of stamping, I am sharing some cards that I received from friends!  This one I got a long time ago but never posted; it’s from Cheryl:

DSCF0183

She even sent me a little picture from a magazine that inspired her!  Very sweet, fun colors!  I love it!  The next one is from Ruth; she sent me this along with a WONDERFUL cookbook from her church—I can’t wait to try out some of the recipes!  Her card is lovely –clean & simple, with fresh colors and images:

DSCF0185

That’s it for today; tomorrow I am hoping to share with you the stamp club cards we did this month!

Pretty Quick Card

DSCF0216

I can’t remember the last time I made a card this quickly!  This is for three challenges:

  • WT315 at SCS  no black ink, only color!
  • Just Add Ink 61: just add stamps - only stamps & paper, no DP, punches, embellishments, etc!
  • JUGS76:  a color challenge of Pink Pirouette, Baja Blue, Soft Sky and So Saffron

JUGS76

Add here’s my CAS card:

DSCF0213 I happened to have a little piece of textured white cardstock sitting on my desk as well as a piece I had run through my Big Shot with a rectangle nestie, so I used it as a mask, stamped the flowers from Eastern Blooms (which hasn’t seen ink in forever), then sponged the edges; took off the mask, mounted it on a card I wheeled once with Cornelli Lace and added a sentiment.  Done!

DSCF0215

I just love the look of stamping on textured cardstock!  Thanks for visiting today!

  • Stamps:  Curly Cute, Eastern Blooms, Cornelli Lace Jumbo Wheel
  • Paper:  Text White, Pink Pirouette
  • Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky
  • Acc:  Sponge

And if you’re one of my customers, you never know where your purchases may have been before you get them:
