Stamp Ink Paper 110 Primaries

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge....and today, we are featuring primary colors!

No automatic alt text available.

I decided to go with a "nautical" theme and I pulled out the little sailboat from Swirly Bird for my     4 1/4" square card today:

I stamped the boat using Real Red, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight, and created my waves with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die.  I used Claire's sketch from Sunday Stamps for my layout:

It's a bit of a challenge to see, but I used some embossing paste and the Pattern Party Decorative Masks to create some clouds in the background.  I stamped a sentiment from this month's Paper Pumpkin and diecut it with a Bitty Banners die:

And used Banner Blast for my little flags!  I also used some enamel stars on the horizontal panel as well!

The inside is also made up of sentiments from Watercolor Wishes and the July PP kit as well:

It's always fun to create something with these bright colors---I hope you'll share your primary-colored creation with us and be sure to check out what the DT came up with as well!

With all the construction on the house going on, our yardwork has been neglected; I finally went around and cut down some low-hanging branches on our trees so I didn't get whacked in the head when I mowed!  I promised Cassidy we could go swimming after we cleaned them up, and I have to say, she was a trooper!  We piled all the branches in the trailer and Grampy towed them away to dump them out along the woods!

She didn't complain a peep!  And for those who have asked about how the house is coming along, it's slow...John has been working on all the electrical wiring for the kitchen...under-the-counter lighting, ceiling lights and fans, new outlets, recessed lighting....all the stuff that needs to be done before any of the "pretty" stuff gets done!  Plus he is working his business as well, and he's been busy!  So it is getting done a little bit at a time...thanks for asking!  And thanks for stopping in today, and be blessed!

CQC328 and CAS179 Ahoy!

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  My card today features the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

and the colors from ColourQ:

I have delayed using this cute little sailboat from Swirly Bird because it was everywhere in blogland and on Pinterest and I was just sort of "saving" it for the right time!  I thought these colors were really fun (although I did substitute more current ones) so here we go:

I started out by sponging some "clouds" on my Pool Party sky by punching out a scalloped circle and covering up the lower half with a post-it note, then sponging white ink through the upper portion (the birds were drawn with a marker):

I stamped the boat in Night of Navy, and the sails in Pear Pizzazz and Tangerine Tango, then cut them and popped them up on a "swell" of Whisper White cardstock cut with the Swirly Scribbles die.  The sentiment was made with the Labeler Alphabet....if you are fortunate enough to have the 1/4" square punch that SU used to sell, it is the perfect size to punch out these little letters!  A drop of Tombow glue and they line up so nicely! Finally I added some little banners from the retired Banner Blast and added some cute enamel accents in Night of Navy:

I just love these cheerful colors!

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 256

DSCF1126

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge and our hostess Jaydee has a fun one!

I love making square cards…I usually make mine 4 1/4” square so they still fit inside a regular envelope!  Today, my card uses the colors from Just Add Ink:
and I used a new-to-me photopolymer set called Banner Blessings as well as a retired Banner Blast set:

I embossed my Crumb Cake base with the Large Polka Dot EF. I stamped my sentiment in Bermuda Bay and embossed the sides of my horizontal panel with the Stripes EF.   Then I stamped the banners in the challenge colors, punching them out with the Banner punch:

You can see just a wee bit of another row of solid banners peeking out from behind!  Finally, I added a faux button and some Bermuda Bay baker’s twine for some interest  .And since this uses stripes and dots, I am entering it in The Male Room’s Stripes and Spots challenge this week as well!  Hope that little bow of baker’s twine doesn’t seem too “unmasculine”!  I need several thank you cards, so I might just do a few of these!

I hope you are challenged to make a square card this week with us too…the DT has some fabulous samples!  Check them out:
This is what I’ve been doing in some of my “spare” time:

Unfortunately, it leaves THIS in its wake:

(Not including the griddle from breakfast, LOL!).  ARGHHHH!  But I do find that little "plink" sound they make when they seal strangely satisfying!  Reminds me of my mom canning on the farm when I was a little girl!   Fortunately I have this too:

Colour Me…! 20

DSCF2949
Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It’s time for another Colour Me…! challenge, and this was a perfect one for me to start on my Father’s Day cards:

These striking colors shouted “nautical” to me, so I pulled out some retired stuff and went to work:

I inked up the Chevron embossing folder with Crushed Curry ink before running it through the Big Shot to get the chevron background; the rest was just stamping, punching, diecutting and snipping!  I also used the Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch:

I hope you’ll play along with us this week and be sure to check out what all the fabulous designers at Colour Me…! have come up with!

ColourQ232

DSCF1323
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Woohoo, you know what that means…ColourQ day!  Check out this cute little inspirational photo:

I have been itching to play with some vellum, particularly making a little pocket or envelope, and this seemed the perfect time:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ232 Vellum Pocket Geometrical

I cut a piece of vellum 4 3/4 x 11”, cut one short end with the Adorning Accent Edgelit die, then folded it and sewed the sides to make my pocket.  The banners are punched with the little SAB banner punch (if you make your paper just a wee bit narrower than the punch, you can slip it into the back of the punch to make your banners longer!), using various papers and cardstocks.

DSCF1327

The “newsprint” is from the Shop Around jumbo wheel, and the sentiment is from Geometrical.  I inked up my stamp with Versamark, then Lucky Limeade ink, stamped it on the vellum, sprinkled on Heat & Stick powder; heated it; then sprinkled on some Martha Stewart glitter and heated it again.  I love the unusual font against the vintage feel of the rest of the pocket!

DSCF1326

I used the Chalk Talk dies to punch a little oval in the top of the pocket, then added some hand-dyed shabby seam ribbon and black & white baker’s twine.  Of course when it was ALL finished, I decided it was a little too plain, so I inked up the swirl from Everything Eleanor in white and stamped it in the open areas:

This will be perfect in which to put a little SU gift certificate, doncha think?

Thanks for stopping by today, and be sure to pop over to the ColourQ blog to see what the other creative courtiers have made for you today!

I shared with you earlier Cassidy’s Christmas cookies made of play-doh; here is she is, “baking” them in the oven (it was not turned on, don’t worry!):

And here she is, “blowing” on them, to cool them off!

Quite a pile of cookies, wouldn’t you say?
