Christmas Banners in the Snow

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I have another Christmas card for you...are you getting sick of them yet?  There are so many fun new things in the upcoming holiday mini, I just can't help myself!  The Jingle Belles want traditional red and green for their challenge this week, and the TGIF challenge wants banners!

I just received the Merry Snowflakes bundle and I thought it would be fun to combine some banners and snowflakes!  So here we go:

I started by diecutting some banners from some Classic Christmas DSP (retired) using a die from Tasteful Labels.  Before adhering them to my Basic White card, I embossed the bottom portion with the longer snowflake die:

Then I cut another piece of Basic White using the curved die from Basic Borders, and embossed that piece with the snowflake embossing folder from the Wintery set, and layered it on top of my banners:

I diecut two snowflakes (they're gorgeous!) and shimmered them up with some Wink of Stella, then layered them together with a white brad I colored with a Blend.  I stamped a portion of one of the sentiments from Christmas to Remember and diecut it with the smallest Stitched So Sweetly dies:

I love how this all came together!  Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a Paper Players challenge....and a non-Christmas card for sure!

Here are a few more birthday cards:

From sweet Sandy:

and sweet Debbie; the DSP is embossed on this one, such a cool technique!

Kathy always makes clever cards, this one uses Give it A Whirl dies:

And this beauty is from Bonnie!

Thanks, ladies!

This picture just cracks me up!  Elvis has left the building!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Tis the Season

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, the weekend is upon us!  I have a fun little Christmas card today which uses some old and new products...lots of new stuff, actually!  It began with a few little scraps I had lying on my craft desk and here's what evolved:

It all started with the Christmas tree!  Each time I use a shaped die, I cut it out first from kraft cardstock to create a template.  That way I can line up the opening in the kraft cardstock with my stamped image, pop in the die into the opening like a puzzle piece, and then run it through the Big Shot.  Usually it ends up lining up perfectly.  And then I have a little kraft piece left over!  Mostly I chuck them but I thought this one would look nice embossed in white.  It comes from a retired set called Peaceful Pines with a matching die called Perfect Pines.  I stamped and embossed the tree branches in white ink and embossing powder.  I also had lying on my desk a white wreath, diecut with the new Seasonal Swirls die.  It was just made with some scrap Basic White cardstock and I was going to chuck it as well, when I thought the two diecuts looked nice together!  I layered them on a panel of some Tidings of Christmas DSP that had been diecut with a Basic Borders die.  Before adhering it, I embossed the bottom portion of a Basic White card with one of the Wintery embossing folders; you can just barely see the snowflakes in the photo, but they are very pretty!

To finish it off, I stamped a sentiment from Christmas to Remember in Real Red and used a Tasteful Labels die to cut it out; then I diecut three Cherry Cobbler stars using the Messages die, layered and glued them together and finished it off with some Shimmery Crystal Effects:

There are really a lot of gorgeous new products in the Holiday mini and I can't wait to use them!  Thanks for popping in today!  And here are a few more birthday cards:

This beauty is from Renita:

And this cutie is from Robyn; we share an office in our church (the inside says "just a note to say, you're awesome, woohoo!")

And this sweet one is from Peggy and it has a very cool fun fold!

Thanks, ladies!

And how about a sand crab?  A REAL sand crab?

What a clever guy Wayne is!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC124 Summer Shaker

Hi there everyone!  Hope your week is going well!  It's time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge, and here's the grid that Joanne came up with for Team X:

I needed a birthday card for my niece, and these fun summery papers from Carta Bella seemed to be perfect for a cute shaker card!  I chose the diagonal of Fruit, Patterned Paper and Shaker:

After creating the shaker and filling it with some Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles, I added a little cocktail from Nothing's Better Than, complete with its little lemon wedge on the rim:

There's also a cherry on the patterned paper:

and a little "celebrate" sentiment banner to bring it all together!

My niece will be 31 years old...hard to believe, and I can remember the day she was born!  Hope she likes it!  And I hope you'll play along with our Tic Tac Toe challenge grid this week.  Check out what all the DT created as well!  See you there!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

KCC570 Pretty Pumpkins

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Hope your week is going well so far!  I have LOTS of goodies from the new upcoming mini catalog and I was able to play with the new Pretty Pumpkins bundle recently!  I LOVE pumpkins...I have lots of pumpkin stamps, but I couldn't resist this new one!  It works well with the Anything Goes challenge at Krafty Chicks, too!  Here we go:

I started with a mat of the new SAB papers, Peaceful Prints, in a Sahara Sand neutral plaid.   I placed the printed pumpkin stamp in my Stamparatus, then stamped it in Sahara Sand, left it on the plate, and cleaned off the ink.  Then I inked each leaf with a SU marker and re-stamped it right over top of the Sahara Sand ink.  I added a couple of diecut leaves in Old Olive:

I added a horizontal panel of Cajun Craze DSP, stamped with a sentiment from Sparkle of the Season, and matted with a stitched Cajun Craze panel.  This set has lots of lovely pumpkins in it, and I know I'll be using it more!  Thanks for popping in today!

Yesterday was my birthday, and I wanted to share some of the pretty cards I received in the mail!  This one is from Mollie:

and this one is from Karen H:

TMS616 Thanks a Bunch

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  A lot of the cards I make are thank you cards for my customers!  I needed a to send out a couple, so that's what I am sharing today.  The first one uses the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch:

and the Color and Contour stamp set featuring the pretty Highland Heather:

I stamped the image in Smoky Slate, then added some color to the leaves with a Soft Seafoam marker and added a mat of the same color; the sentiment is from Celebrate Sunflowers:

I did add some In Color gems too!

The second one is just one I threw together with some scraps laying on my desk; it features a sentiment from Shaded Summer and some diecuts from the new die Summer Shadows, which will be available as a SAB reward!  I used papers from Sweet Symmetry and Flirty Flamingo DSP as well as Just Jade and So Saffron cardstock:

Several different dies were used as well!  Lots of fun using up little scraps!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Hard to believe this little punkin will be eleven next month!

GDP302 Scrappy Halloween

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I had a productive stamping day yesterday and was able to make some samples using some new goodies from the upcoming holiday mini!  The Global Design Project sketch is a great one to use up DSP scraps, but truthfully, I hadn't even broken into the super-cute Cute Halloween DSP yet, but I willingly cut some into strips to make a fun Halloween card!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I cut 1/2" strips of the DSP and mounted them on a Basic White card after embossing the front with the Stitched With Whimsy die.  I mounted them a bit wonky for a playful look.  I added a sentiment from Little Delights, also using a Stitched With Whimsy die, and added a jack and cat that I fussy cut from the same DSP.  For a little extra color interest, I added an Old Olive banner under the sentiment, stamped with bats from the same set.  Finally, I colored a couple of rhinestones with Blends for some sparkle!

I still had some little strips left so I decided to make another card with them; this time I embossed my card front with the Dots embossing folder, then added a sentiment from Sparkle of the Season, and I added a wee little bit of gingham ribbon:

Either my eyes are getting bad or my magnetic plate slipped, because my sentiment is definitely a bit wonky too!  Oh well!!  Thanks for popping in today!

Another cute one from the kids' vacation:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SSC262 Sparkle of the Season

Happy Monday peeps! I have been remiss in using some of my new goodies from the holiday catalog, so I sat down yesterday and tried to remedy that.  I used the pretty Tidings of Christmas DSP and the Sparkle of the Season bundle, along with the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

And here we go:

I struggled a bit with the wreath; it's a little labor-intensive to diecut all the wee little leafy pieces, and it really didn't look very Christmasy until I added some red rhinestones, but I'll keep playing with it.  I love the set...it has LOTS of images for fall and winter stamping and I love the sentiments.  I used Soft Succulent and Sahara Sand for the leaves, then did some marker-stamping for the "berry" images:

I used the stitched rectangle die from Ornate Layers dies, making it smaller by repositioning it and  running it through the Big Shot twice.  The sentiment was stamped in Real Red; the offset panel was Cherry Cobbler.  I think this is such a sweet inside sentimen too:

I have stampers coming this evening to make Christmas cards, so I'm gonna scoot!  Thanks for popping in today!

Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kristy gave Cassidy an early birthday present; she loves Legos and had been wanting the New York City skyline one:

Stay tuned to see the finished project!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP551 Sketch from Ann

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is going well!  Ann is our Paper Players  hostess this week with a fun sketch...I was happy to see THREE banners on the sketch because I love things in threes! I needed a birthday card for my BIL, so I decided to use Sailing Home, which is a great masculine set!  So here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I really struggle with "scenes", and this one was no exception!  I had to do some creative masking to get the ocean and the sky to look just right; the clouds that I wanted to add didn't look just right; the ocean color wasn't really what I wanted....well, I had spent enough time on it and just said the heck with it, it is what it is!

I embossed my card front with the Seaside embossing folder and added some banners of Real Red DSP from last year's selection, and stamped a sentiment from Many Mates in Memento Black.  I used a sponge brayer for the ocean and a blending brush for the sky.  Hopefully he'll like it!  I am also entering it at Just Add Ink; they want two out of three:  Sky, Sea or Trees, as well as Festive Friday, where I've chosen water, blue and red:

I hope you'll play along with our pretty little sketch!  Check out what the DT created...there are some beauties there this week, lots of new products being highlighted...you need to see them at the Paper Players blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana, Wayne and Cassidy stopped on their way home from vacation to visit Dana's half-brother Kevin and his wife Kristy in North Carolina.  Dana is thirteen years younger than he is and they didn't spend much time together growing up but over the last several years have reconnected and they enjoy spending time together when they can.  I am very proud of my ex-stepson and his wife is a gem!  Looks like they had a great time!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
