Vintage Fa La La Christmas

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I am squeaking in a sweet little vintage Christmas card for the "belles" at Jingle Belles, where their theme is "Walking in a Vintage Wonderland"!  I love Christmas and I love vintage!  So I searched in my stash of papers and found a few that worked for my collage-style card today!  I did some trimming and sponging and diecutting and did not do a bit of stamping, at least on the front! Here we go:

I cannot begin to tell you who makes these papers; I bought just a few pieces loose from an online seller and there is no name associated with them, but they are all from the same package.  You may be able to see the background print peeking out from the elements that I cut apart and mounted on top.  Before mounting, I sponged each edge and roughed them up with the edge of my ruler.  I also added some glittery holly leaves (white glimmer paper with some Soft Sky ink sponged on them) and a little diecut bow (Real Red with some white ink sponged on it),  Here are some closeups of these delightful little scenes:

Everything went on a Naturals Ivory card; I stamped a sentiment from Flonzcraft on the inside with Crumb Cake ink.

These images all just remind me of Christmases from when I was a little girl!  And I  promise, one of these days, I'll do some actual stamping on a card! It's just so fun to pull out some neat papers and let them do the work though!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC678 Just a Note

Happy Monday, everyone!  I love today's Atlantic Hearts sketch:

I found these gorgeous florals in some Craft Corsortium papers and although I hated cutting into them, I just had to showcase them on my card today:

I've been a lazy stamper lately and let the paper do most of the work, and I admit that I did it again here!  I even cut out a larger flower for my central image, adhering it to an oval of Soft Succulent that was softened with a layer of vellum!  I did do a wee bit of stamping for my little slider tag, which was threaded throught some Pink Pirouette seam binding:

I even adhered a scrap strip to the inside because it's just too pretty not to!

I had bunches of ideas swirling around in my head for this sketch, so you may see it again!  I hope you'll have some ideas about how to use it as well, and share it with us at Atlantic Hearts!  Thanks for visiting; enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP782 Fawned of You

Happy Sunday, all!  Hope you're having a good weekend so far!  It's Christy's turn to be the hostess at the Paper Players, and it's clean-and-simple week! She has a sweet theme for it, too! Check it out:

What a fun theme!  Remember, it needs to be clean and simple!  Not a lot of embellishments or layers (although mine does have a couple of them!). I went searching through my plethora of paper and stamps and went a real easy route, letting the paper do most of the work!  Here we go:

I remembered I had some really cute papers from Craft Consortium with lots of woodland creatures and greenery on it, so I diecut a little fawn from one piece, added a scallop border and a couple more of the forest babies (massive fussy-cutting skills here!) along the edges:

And since those Poppy Whittle Sayings were still on my desk, I couldn't resist adding a punny sentiment!  Oh, and I did emboss my Natural White cardstock panel with a Burlap embossing folder before adhering it to a Basic Beige card base.  I wish SU still carried the Natural White cardstock; it's such a good fit with nature-themed cards!

The Design Team at the Players has really come up with some fun creations!  Be sure to pop on over to the Paper Players to give them some love, then share your clean-and-simple baby animal creativity with us as well!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS732 Feel Better Dragonfly

Happy Friday, peeps! Yay, the weekend is here!  I was playing with the Scalloped Wishes set and realized I hadn't used that pretty little dragonfly die yet, so I remedied that with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I still had some Pool Party Shimmer cardstock on my desk from yesterday's card, so I thought it would be fun to use it for my dragonfly BUT I added a little something extra to it; I colored it with some Azure Afternoon reinker ink to give it a deeper hue!  Here we go:

After coloring it with the ink, I mounted it on several diecut circles of cardstock and added two more circles from Not 2 Shabby's Rustic Blooms paper.  I embossed the left from of the card with the Greenery embossing folder, then added some sequins and a get well sentiment:

I love blue but I haven't used any of these hues for a while!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Just a Little Note for CASC&S583

Happy Thursday, all!  You know I like things in threes and when I saw the Clean & Simple Colours & Sketches challenge this week, I was quite happy:

I did a class recently at my neighborhood retirement center and had some leftover pieces from that project, so I used them for my project:

The butterflies were diecut with some Shimmer Pool Party cardstock, then layered on a butterfly-embossed piece of Basic White.  The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps' Whittle Sayings, using an Impression Obsession Small Tags die.

Here is the original project; I just used two of the single butterflies and trimmed one from the trio for the above card:

I am also entering this at Krafty Chicks, where they're looking for Clean and Simple too!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"But I will bless the person who puts his trust in me.  He is like a tree growing newar a stream and sending out roots to the water.  It is not afraid when hot weather comes, because its leaves stay green; it has no worries when there is no rain; it keeps on bearing fruit."  Jeremiah 17:7-8

More Lilies of the Valley

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I was playing around a little more with the Lily of the Valley bundle, and challenged myself to use it with some colors I rarely use:  Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist.  When I looked at pictures of the lilies on the internet, the stems were an intense green, and that was my jumping-off point!  I diecut some leaves and lilies from some watercolor paper and went to work:

One thing about these colors is that (to me), they just don't photograph well.  This looks way too yellow in my photo, and it's really a nice light green.  Anyway, I used Granny Apple Green to color the stems and leaves, then mounted it on a piece of embossed Lemon Lime Twist.  The scalloped panel is a piece of Lemon Lime Twist DSP from last year, stamped with the Scalloped Wishes stamp and diecut with the matching die.  The sentiment is also from that set.  I didn't add much more; I will add a sentiment on the inside when I need it--it could be for a birthday, get well, or thank you!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.  Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?  Who may stand in his holy place?  The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol and swear by a false god."  Psalm 24:1-4

Christmas Wishes in White

Happy Tuesday, all! I am slowly working on my Christmas card stash and the sketch at TGIF worked with the all white challenge from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown:

I pulled out some Basic White cardstock, white glimmer paper, an embossing folder and a snowflake die and went to work:

I added a sweet little Spellbinders embossed banner for the sentiment as well as some adhesive sequins to the center of the snowflakes for a little extra sparkle:

You can't tell, but I stamped the inside sentiment with silver Encore ink for some more sparkle!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC677 Birthday in Pink

Happy Monday, everyone!  Our Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week is one I really like!  I've done cards similar to this before, but not with the semi-circle element!  Take a look:

I also decided to use hues of pink for my card so I could play along with the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge; my second color is white!

I punched out 1 1/4" squares of various pink cardstocks, then ran them through embossing folders and dabbed on a bit of pink ink to show the detail a bit better!  Adhered them to a card front and added a birthday sentiment and some diecuts and it was good to go:

Aren't those embossed panels pretty?

Another sentiment and flowers from the same set went on the inside:

I like pink, but it's not a color I normally gravitate to, so this was fun! I enjoyed pulling out some retired goodies as well! I hope you'll play with us at Atlantic Hearts this week too!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP781 Extreme Dirt Bike Birthday

Happy Sunday, all!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge and Jan is our hostess with an interesting color challenge:

I confess that my first thought when seeing these colors was to use them with my beloved bumblebees---perfect colors, don't you think?  BUT I needed a birthday card for my nephew Jameson, and he loves dirt bikes, so I switched gears (no pun intended) and went in a different direction:

I started by stamping some grunge elements in Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight, then stamped the biker with Stazaon Black ink.  I added some stitched lines to look like tracks, then a simple birthday sentiment and some gray metal embellishments.

It went on a Smoky Slate card base with this sentiment on the inside:

I may have used this same stamp on his card last year (can't remember) but I hope he doesn't mind!  Here's a photo of Jameson (on the right) with Maven and Sawyer at Christmas!  They're all getting so big!

I hope you'll create something with these great colors this week!  Not only are they good bee colors, they're probably good for some other cool subjects as well!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share them with us at the Players!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS731 To A Sweet Friend

Happy Saturday, peeps! Hope you're having a good weekend so far! It is finally sunny here in SE PA, but the wind still thinks it's boss!  I have a fun little card today using Donna's sketch from FMS:

I kept thinking of all the little puppies in the Cutest Crew set, so I pulled out some retired Playful Pets DSP and went to work:

I stamped, colored and diecut the puppies, then mounted them on pieces of the DSP that were diecut with the retired Stitched Rectangle dies and matted with Real Red.  The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Whittle Sayings:

The inside sentiment is from Cutest Crew:

Enjoy the rest of your day and be blessed!  Thanks for visiting!

AYSI3701 Birthday Dogs

Happy Friday, all!  The As You See It challenge this week is the fun "Fill in the Blank"!  This month's challenge is HERE:

This was an easy one for me, and even easier because I was just on a roll making some really fun BIRTHDAY cards with some new papers I just got!  Masculine birthday cards are always a challenge and these papers from Craft Consortium are called The Collector, and they have a plethora of marvelous assorted vintage images.  They are SO amazing, all I did for this card was to add a sentiment tag; I let the paper do all the work!  Here we go:

Since the papers are 6x6, and I didn't want to cut off any of these cute pups, I made my Basic Beige card 4 1/4" x 6 1/4", then just added a panel of the paper on top.  I diecut a Basic Beige tag, stamped a sentiment from Lasting Joy in Early Espresso, gave it a little sponging to mimic the vintage look and tied it with some Linen Thread:

I added another sentiment to match on the inside and called it all good!  Easy peasy!  I am sure a lot of you send out many birthday cards as well as Christmas, but you may have another occasion that you send out lots of cards for as well.  Halloween comes to my mind, as I have TONS of Halloween stamps, LOL, and I love to use them all!

I hope you'll share your creation with us at As You See It this week  Thanks for visiting my blog, enjoy your day and be blessed!

Lilies of the Valley

Happy Thursday, peeps! I was so excited to see a lily of the valley stamp in the upcoming SU catalog! I remember a row of them growing along my grandmother's house in the spring and they smelled SO good. I even wore a lily of the valley perfume in high school called Muguet de Bois - I just looked it up online and it goes for $50 on ebay! YIKES!  You can be sure I didn't spend that back in 1970!!!  Anyway, I'll just imagine the smell as I share a couple of cards I created with this new set along with a new In Color called Peaceful Pine, which is a lovely green, and Fresh Freesia.  Here we go:

My first one uses the smaller floral image, stamped in the Peaceful Pine, and lightly watercolored with Fresh Freesia ink.  I then die cut it and mounted on an Everyday Arches diecut with a Peaceful Pine mat.  The background was embossed with the Eyelet embossing folder; I added some pearls and white ribbon trim.  The sentiment is from the same set.

The second one uses the larger lily of the valley image, stamped, diecut and colored the same way; the sentiment is from Lasting Beauty.  I did color a piece of white ribbon with a Fresh Freesia blend for a little accent.  The background paper is called Bloom Boutique:

I also used some retired Fresh Freesia DSP.  The layout is from Try a Sketch on Tuesday:

I look forward to playing with this some more!

On a different note, John & I went to see the movie A Great Awakening yesterday; it's a historical movie about the great preacher George Whitefield and his friendship with Benjamin Franklin.  It was extra-special to us, as it was filmed in our area by Sight & Sound Productions, which is noted for it's amazing Biblical theatrical productions.  They feature LIVE animals in some of them!  (I read where they sell more tickets than most Broadway shows and it is in a rural area of Lancaster County!)  Another reason it was extra-special is that George Whitfield preached AT MY CHURCH in 1740 to a crowd of 12000 people!  It gave me goosebumps to think about it! And lastly, a family friend who works at Sight & Sound was an extra in the movie and we actually saw him in the film!  Wow! I know a movie star, LOL!  I recommend it highly!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Another Christmas Card

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Can you handle another Christmas card?  The sketch from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown was a fun one, and I combined it with the RetroRubber Tic-Tac-Toe grid:

I chose the middle column down:  Pines, Snow and My Choice, which was embossing!  Here we go:

(Sorry for the glare in the corner--not sure how that happened!)  My pines are from Rooted in Nature (2018) and the sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas (2019).  I embossed my banner with the Softly Falling embossing folder and made some "snowy" hills with the Stitched Hillside dies from Lawn Fawn.  I added a border of Cherry Cobbler and a faux bow and ribbon, embellished with a sequin:

Sentiment on the inside was from the same set, and I stamped a couple of trees inside as well.  The DSP is the retired Classic Christmas!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
