Blame it on Michele

LOL, do you like the name of my post?  It's all because my friend Michele posted cards made with this adorable stamp set called Clever Sausage...and I just had to get it!  Here we go:

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday, and I am also entering it in the Time Out Birthday challenge:

I started by stamping my little pup in Memento ink on some Soft Suede cardstock and shaded him with some blends.  You can get matching dies with the set, but the images fairly easy to fussy cut, so I passed on the dies!  I also gave him a polka dotted sweater:

I added a polka dotted balloon, and a sentiment diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  Before adhering everything, I stamped a few little confetti on my Stitched So Sweetly panel!  His little bow and tie around his tummy were hand-drawn!

Finally, on the inside of the Daffodil Delight, I added the sentiment:

All the printed papers are from Honey Bee's The Bee's Knees 6x6 pad!  Thanks for popping in today!

I must admit, that socially distancing myself has made me very, very lazy.  All I did on Sunday, after watching our church service on FB, was to work on a puzzle, oh and I did sew two DIY masks which I will be mailing to my niece.  There is NO 1/4" elastic to be found anywhere, so that's the extent of my mask-making.  I am keeping up on my Bible study, walking, and making a few cards, but mostly just....working on my puzzle!  Hopefully it will be done today and I can move forward!  How are you keeping busy?  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JAI494 Thoughtful Blooms

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Happy Leap Day too!  My card today uses the colors from Just Add Ink:

I've been feeling rather uncreative lately, and I felt a little better after using these soft, pretty colors on my card. I pulled out my unused Buffalo Check background stamp and the SAB Thoughtful Blooms set and matching punch and went to work:

I stamped the blossoms on Grapefruit Grove cardstock in matching ink and the leaves in Soft Seafoam.  I curled the petals a wee bit with my bone folder and added some white centers with a gel pen.  I diecut three tiny butterflies with the Nature's Promise dies to create a little embellishment for my flowers:

I also layered a couple of diecuts to create a horizontal panel, which added some interest against my gray plaid background:

Finally, a sentiment from So Sentimental on the inside, along with a few more leaves:

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

I wanted to share this cute photo of my great-nephew Jameson, at his brother Sawyer's birthday party.  His mom got cookies that had an edible "paint" palette right on the cookie, and he was getting ready to paint his cookie!! (And he's a lefty!) What a fantastic idea!  I hope they tasted as good as they looked!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #050

Hello, stampers!  A second post for me today.... I was recently asked by Felicita to be on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge team!  I said yes, and there are a lot of other familiar faces on the design team too!  I am happy to be designing with them!  Our first challenge of 2020 looks like this, with Shannon as our featured designer:

No photo description available.

I used the bottom row across:  punch, blue and twine!

I started with some Balmy Blue cardstock and my Timeless Label punch, punching out three labels, then stamping them with Versamark ink, using  the wooden image from Gallery Grunge.  I tried an old technique to add some light color; I used my Stampin' Pastels (anyone remember them???) and a cotton puff to dab on some color, just to make it stand out a bit!  I embossed a panel of Basic Black with the new Coastal Weave EF and layered the labels on top.

I stamped two of the birds from the May Paper Pumpkin kit and fussy-cut them out after giving them a wee bit of color with my Blends.  A sentiment from the same kit was stamped in Memento Black and diecut with a Stitched So Sweetly die and tucked under the black panel:

I finished it with some Soft Sky twine, then mounted it on a Smoky Slate mat, a white rectangle-stitched panel, and finally a Balmy Blue card base.  I stamped a sentiment from So Sentimental on the inside, along with some speckles and another couple of birds:

I can't wait to see what you create with this tic-tac-toe board!!  They're always fun, and they are a great way to get your creative juices flowing when you're stumped for ideas!  Stop over at the TTTC blog to see what the others have created and share yours too!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP476 Hello Baby Love

Hi crafty friends!  Well, it's Sunday---Super Bowl Sunday---and Claire and the Paper Players have a "lovely" challenge for us today! Check it out:

I've been stamping Valentine cards up a storm, so I thought I would take a different route with my "love" card today!  Can you guess the love theme for my clean-and-simple card today?:

The So Sentimental stamp set has a sweet little baby stamp with a little heart on it, so I thought I would use that, along with some Pool Party gingham!  I stamped it in Pool Party as well, coloring in the heart with a Blend, then diecutting it with the smallest Stitched So Sweetly die:

My triple row of hearts features two dies from Close to My Heart; I diecut the top layer in Whisper White, then the bottom layers in So Saffron, Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride, and adhered them to the top of my card:

They work perfectly for the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge sketch for this week:

I don't know anyone who needs a baby card right now, but it's always nice to have one on hand!  I just think these colors are so sweet together, and babies mean LOVE, right?!  I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week, too!  Less than two weeks until Valentine's day, if that's your motivation!  We can't wait to see what you create at the Paper Players!  Thanks for popping in today!

A little ice skating at the University of Delaware's rink yesterday:

Wayne is a good skater, but I think perhaps some practice might be in order for Cass...apparently there was a lot of falling down, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FSM420 Koala Birthday

Happy Saturday, peeps!  And Happy February!  I will be stamping with some friends today, so I am doing a happy dance!  And here's a happy little card using some elements from the Birthday Bonanza Suite!  I needed a card for a two-year-old, and a sweet friend had borrowed my Bonanza Buddies stamp set, but I still had my dies and Birthday Bonanza papers, so I knew I could still make it work!  Those dies do a great job cutting out the little koala images from the DSP, and I punched a balloon from some Grapefruit Grove cardstock, shaded it with Terracotta Tile, and this is what I came up with:

First off, I used Jen's fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I made my card base 4 1/4" square, added a circle of DSP and a scalloped mat of Terracotta Tile, then popped up my diecut koala.  I added some twine "string" and popped up the balloon so it was floating off the top of the card:

The birthday sentiment from Label Me Bold was perfect for the sketch; I got good coverage with my Smoky Slate ink by using my Stamparatus, then fussy-cutting it out:

I added a sentiment from So Sentimental, along with some confetti too!

It's in the mail....hope she likes it!  Thanks for popping in today, and be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!!

Cassidy and her little friend were big winners at the games they played during her karate class's Parents Night Out...she even beat Master Fisher at dodge ball!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

LIM411 One Layer Thank You

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Brrr....it's really cold here in PA!  No snow though, I am wishing for at least one good one this winter!  Hopefully soon!  Anyway, I am doing something different today, I have a one-layer card for the Less Is More challenge this week:

I see so many cool cards featuring stencilling, but I just don't feel as if I am very good at it!  But I thought I'd give it a go, using a SU mask and the colors of Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry, to create my off-center design:

I used blending brushes to sponge on each color, going from light to dark.  For the sentiment, I used a sentiment from the new So Sentimental set, lining it up in my Stamparatus and inking it in Blackberry Bliss to get a good sharp image.  I cleaned off the stamp, still on the plate, and inked it again with Versamark, then heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder:

The embossing really shines on top of the stencilling!!  And the stencilling wasn't that difficult!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy has always enjoyed drawing, and she got a big sketch book and some colored pencils from her uncle this Christmas, so she has been entertaining us with some of her artwork.  She made this for Wayne, and all the letters are made from sports equipment!

Dana said the W is made of footballs; the A is baseballs; the Y is basketballs, the N is hockey sticks  (my favorite), and the E is hockey pucks!  She is also learning cursive, so I love how she connected the W and A in Wayne's name (as well as her own signature).  Her creativity amazes me!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Hostess Party Projects

I had my Hostess Appreciation party yesterday, and of course, I was so intent on socializing, feeding my friends and stamping, that I got NO pictures!  I am just so bad at that!  But I did photograph our projects!  I wanted to highlight some SAB things, so everyone got to make a Kerchief Card from the Paper Pumpkin-style kit:

And in December my friend Sally sent me this lovely Christmas card, with this cute little "corner tuck" feature, and I loved it so much, I wanted to make one of my own:

So we made a card using the gorgeous florals from Best Dressed; this one happens to be on a  Blackberry Bliss card base, but some of the girls also did a Pear Pizzaz one with a different floral:

I chose to put another diecut right on top of the triangle piece, stamped with a sentiment from Beautiful Day and embellished with a sequin:

We used a new set, So Sentimental, for the inside panel!  Everyone really like this style of fold!

Finally, we did a Valentine candy treat using the Printed Cello bags from the mini catalog and the Over the Moon set:

A heart was diecut from Rose Glimmer Paper and a little topper from Rococo Rose; the stamped panel was diecut with a die from Stitched So Sweetly, then colored with Blends.  To make the moon, they stamped the image on the back of a piece of Sparkle Glimmer paper, then hand-cut it out:

We also had cheeseburger soup, along with salad, snacks and desserts!  Delish!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy, Dana and Wayne enjoyed the 76ers game.....although Cass fell asleep before they even got there:

It's good to get a nap before a big game!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
