GDP220 Coppery Birthday

Happy St Patrick's Day, peeps!  Unfortunately, I don't have a green card today, but I do have a bright blue one!  I needed a masculine birthday card, and I wanted to use some of the Flowering Foils SAB papers, so here we go:

I took a piece of the grid-style paper and brayered it with some Blueberry Bushel ink, then added a couple of white borders and mounted it on a Blueberry Bushel card. I took the compass image from Sailing Home and heat embossed it with some Copper embossing powder, and mounted it on a Sweetly Stitched diecut of some retired Brushed Copper cardstock.  I also added a little sentiment from Label Me Bold and some copper brads:

I added a sentiment from I Made You A Card and stamped the lighthouse from Setting Sail in Seaside Spray:

The Global Design Project had a CASE the Designer challenge, so I chose to CASE Connie's sketch:

So happy you popped in today!  And here is a wee bit of St Pat's goodness for you---I picked these up at a yard sale on Saturday; they've been dropped, broken and repaired, but they're as cute as buttons and since I had no St Pat's decorations, and the price was good, I gave them a new home!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTD576 and TSOT440 John's Anniversary

Happy Saturday, everyone!  We are finally supposed to get some snow today---just in time for my Hostess party tomorrow!  The weatherman promises it is all going to get washed away by tomorrow!  We'll see!

I'm sharing the card I made for John for our anniversary; it uses the Try Stampin On Tuesday sketch as well as the Color Throwdown colors:

I used the lighthouse image from Sailing Home for the focal point, and since there is a bit of ocean splash at the bottom, I guess it qualifies for the "wet" part of the challenge too:

I began with a large stitched circle of Naturals White cardstock.  On it, I stamped the lighthouse in Night of Navy and birds in Pretty Peacock, then diecut the lighthouse out and offset it against the cut opening; I added some Denim ribbon behind so that it would peek through the opening:

I added a background of Pretty Peacock DSP and mounted it on a Honey Nut card base (Papertrey).  I also diecut a sentiment with the Stitched Nested Labels dies, adding a Honey Nut mat as well.  The inside was stamped with a Technique Tuesday sentiment with some other words from Paper Studio added in:

He loved it!  Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF179 Sailing Home

Happy Sunday, peeps!  A quick post today using the sketch from Fab Friday for a masculine birthday card:

I used the Sailing Home stamp set with matching Smooth Sailing dies and a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings; lots of sponging with Soft Suede ink (maybe a bit too much) and I used the Come Sail Away DSP on which to stamp everything:

I created a frame from some retired Woodgrain DSP, and also made another little banner to go behind the sentiment with the same Woodgrain paper:

A few sailboats and a sentiment on the inside and this will be in the mail tomorrow!  Thanks for popping in today!

My SIL were bird-nerd talking yesterday and she told me she saw a yellow-bellied sapsucker on her tree recently! Imagine my surprise when I looked out the window this morning as I was getting my coffee and saw this:

As you can see, it was only about 20 degrees and everything was quite frosty...but he didn't mind!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB86 Nautical Hello

Hi crafters!  It's time for another Inspired By challenge this week....Laurel has another seasonal one for us in shades of blue, yellow and white!  Here's my take on it:

And here's the pretty photo prompt:

I put together a few DSPs, nautical images and die cuts for my friendship/hello card!  I started with the lighthouse from Sailing Home, stamped in Night of Navy and diecut with the Smooth Sailing die.  I put it on top of some nautical DSP from a few years back; a Daffodil Delight anchor (My Favorite Things dies) was mounted on top of a striped piece of DSP from Come Sail Away.  Finally, a Night of Navy wheel (Smooth Sailing) was mounted on top of a piece of Daffodil Delight polka-dotted DSP from a few years back as well!!  (Love using up some of that older DSP!)

I finished it off with a sentiment from Bloom and Grow, diecut with the cute banner die from Smooth Sailing:

Oops, I almost forgot; I lightly stamped the seagulls from Sailing Home at the top and bottom of the card, just for a little additional interest!  I left the inside blank, until I am ready to use it for whatever occasion might arise!!

Thanks for popping in today!  I hope that this photo inspired you to play along with us at Inspired By...come on over and share your creation with us too!

Cassidy, Wayne and Dana went to a Skillet concert recently; Cass is lucky that Wayne doesn't mind holding her up so she could see better!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS396 Vintage Nautical

Happy Friday, peeps!  Wow, what a day we had yesterday....I was driving home from dropping Cassidy off and it was raining insanely!!  Scary stuff!  Hopefully today will be better!  Anyway, late last night I crept into my craft room to make a card with Linda's FMS sketch:
I really liked the vintage sailing print in the Come Sail Away DSP package...it's interesting enough to not need a lot of embellishments, which made it great for the sketch!  So here we go:

I used the little rope die from the Smooth Sailing dies to cut my borders from Soft Suede cardstock, pieced them together and glued them on top of the DSP.  I stamped a sentiment in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the stitched label die from the same set. I thought it looked a little "naked", so I cut another die from SS, cut it in half and layered it underneath! The final touch was some retired candy dots.

I stamped a birthday sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday on the inside, along with the lighthouse, stamped in Sahara Sand:

These make such great masculine cards!  So happy you popped in today!

We got to meet Ginger a few days ago; Cassidy carries her around everywhere, and even put her on the swing!  And she must have liked it, she didn't jump off!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB80 Nautical Happy Day

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for another Inspired By challenge, and we have a nice summery one for you!  My stamp clubs played with this Sailing Home bundle on Monday, and although this isn't the card we made, I used the leftover DSP scraps, which is always nice!  So here we go:

And here is our summery prompt:

I went more with the colors than the beachy theme for my card, since I already had this set on my desk, LOL!  I stamped the elements and diecut them out, then added brads and twine:

And before adhering everything, I lined up the papers in my Stamparatus, and stamped the lighthouse on the DSP; it's a nice subtle touch that brings the theme together!  Finally, I stamped a sentiment and diecut it with that wee little banner die....LOVE it!  I added another one in Night of Navy behind it for fun:

Finally, on the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Botanical Bliss and added another anchor diecut that I had left over:

I hope you'll come play with us, and show us your beachy/nautical creations at Inspired By this week!

A little Italian water ice is always nice on a hot summer day!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
