GDP237 Guest Designer

Happy Monday, peeps!  I was happy to be chosen as the guest designer for the Global Design  Project Challenge recently!

Their challenge for this week is a vivid color palette:

Aren't these pretty together?  I searched my stamps for something that hadn't been used lately, and came up with For the Love of Felt and Sweetly Swirled; they both have bold floral images that I thought would work well for these bold colors!  So here we go:

I started with a Night of Navy DSP panel, then added a Whisper White panel diecut with the new Ornate Layers die.  I stamped some of the leaves from For the Love of Felt along the panel, then added some flowers from each set, stamped in Melon Mambo and fussy-cut out.  They were mounted on the panel with dimensionals:

I stamped "thank you" from the Sweetly Swirled set and fussy-cut it out, then mounted it on a little white banner cut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  My final touches were a border of Mint Macaron diecut with the Ornate Borders die and a Night of Navy gingham bow attached to the upper left.

I am sure you will be able to come up with some amazing cards featuring these colors!  I hope you'll share them at the Global Design Project as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana sent me this photo of Eden...the window was open and people were talking outside....she hates social distancing, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP473 Thankful Wreath

Happy Sunday, everyone!  The talented, fun Anne Marie is our Paper Players hostess today with a cool color challenge:

I admit that at first, these colors really DID challenge me!  But I thought perhaps a floral design would work, so I pulled out a couple of sets and started stamping!  Here we go:

I used the wreath from Sweetly Swirled, stamped it in Crumb Cake, and some florals from A Big Thank You, stamped in the challenge colors.  Then I fussy-cut them out and placed them on a white panel, matted with Crumb Cake:

I added a Linen Thread bow, then heat-embossed a sentiment on a panel of vellum for the horizontal piece; I like how the stamping still shows through a little!

I embossed the background of the card with the Tufted embossing folder and added a panel of Rich Razzleberry DSP to fit the sketch from Case This Sketch:

I hope you'll jump on the Paper Player train and play with our colors this week!  You can see what all our talented designers created at the Paper Players blog!!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC214 Fall Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend...I know I had one busy day and then one relaxing day...a great weekend!  I got in a wee bit of stamping time between reading, cross-stitching and cooking, and was able to create a thank-you card for a customer using the Sunday Stamps sketch:

Normally, with a large open area like this, I would be tempted to let some beautiful DSP do all the work (and I may do that yet, LOL!) but I decided to go a little more detailed with the Sweetly Swirled set:

Unfortunately, there is no die to match this set, but the elements are fairly easy to fussy cut!  I stamped some leaves in Terracotta Tile, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie, then some greenery in Old Olive, and finally some flowers in Cajun Craze, Real Red and Terracotta Tile, then cut them all out.  I stamped the wreath with Crumb Cake on a Very Vanilla panel and went to work assembling it all:

I did stamp some "berries" in Terracotta Tile (my new favorite color) before adhering everything down!  My sentiment was from Itty Bitty Greetings, and I already had this Old Olive Linen Thread bow sitting in my unused box, so I adhered it to the banner.  I mounted it all on a piece of Old Olive gingahm DSP....I love the country feel of this!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP458 Ann's Pretty Colors

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  Time for another Paper Players challenge with the talented Ann as our hostess!  She has a pretty fall color challenge for us this week:

Some of these colors are in the new Come to Gather DSP, so I paired a few of the patterns with some Merry Merlot DSP to come up with this:

It follows the Fab Friday sketch:

and I used some strips to create the horizontal elements; I used the woodgrain paper for my background, and I cut an open circle from the Merry Merlot DSP, along with a MM leaf diecut, for a focal image.  I hand-cut a little tag from the same woodgrain paper and stamped a sentiment from Here's a Card, then added some sequins, a faceted element and a little twine bow!

As I do often, I created another card with a totally different feel using the same colors!  This one uses the sketch from FMS, the CAS on Sunday challenge to use a diecut sentiment, and the Festive Friday Inspo challenge;  I used stripes, a bird, and pearls:

And here we go!  For this card, I hand-painted some stripes in Pretty Peacock on a piece of diecut Whisper White, then  used my Stamparatus to ink flowers from Perennial Birthday in Merry Merlot and Versamark, then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder and watercolored them in.  They're not too hard to fussy-cut, so after doing that, I mounted them on a "wreath" from Sweetly Swirled, stamped in Cajun Craze:

I masked off part of another sentiment from Here's a Card and stamped it on the striped piece to go with my diecut sentiment and bird, which are both from the Well Written dies, and I added some speckles and pearls to finish it off:

Please be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see the fabulous creations the DT has made, then share yours with us as well!  Can't wait to see what you create!

FMS394 Sweetly Swirled

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I got a late start today, we are having another yard sale this weekend...the hottest weekend of the year so far, of course!  Anyway, I needed several thank you cards and the sketch from FMS was a nice easy one to use:

I hemmed and hawed about getting this Sweetly Swirled set, but I gave in and was happy that I did!  What a fun little set!  I stamped the largest oval swirl in Mint Macaron, stamping it first on scrap, then on Whisper White cardstock and diecut it with the largest Stitched Shape oval.  Then I went to work decorating it, the fun part!

I used Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Coastal Cabana and Balmy Blue to accent my "wreath".  There are no dies to cut out the flowers, so I fussy cut the largest one and just stamped the others.  The sentiments are great in this set, too....perfect for my thank you card!  I accented my oval with a couple of Iridescent sequins and mounted it on a matching DSP!  It's going in the mail today...or maybe tomorrow, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today!

AYSI203 My Favorite Color to Wear

Happy Friday, peeps!  Thankfully, our hot, humid, sticky weather is supposed to break today---yay!  Just in time for a fun As You See It challenge too...check this one out!

Image may contain: text

What a great idea!  My favorite colors to wear are anything in the peach/coral/orange family!  In fact, in my (1972) senior yearbook likes and dislikes, I list "orange" as my favorite color!  SO....I inked up some new stamps and went to work:

I used Flirty Flamingo for my DSP and to ink up Bloom and Grow twice; I then colored the blooms with Light Pumpkin Pie and Light Calypso Coral Blends.  These images diecut like a breeze...aren't they gorgeous?  I added a lacy border from the Arts and Crafts Die, and although you can't see it, another scalloped border of Calypso Coral:

My final addition was a stamped sentiment (Sweetly Swirled) and some Iridescent sequins:

My sketch is from FMS, although I totally spazzed about the sentiment placement!  Oh well!

Maybe this is a little too much orange-ness going on, but I love it anyway!  Hope you'll share something using your favorite colors too!  We can't wait to see it at As You See It!

Our local library had a Teddy Bear Picnic in the park yesterday, and Cassidy, Lee, Lee's mom and sister all attended; we brought our lunches, listened to Miss Lisa read some books, and then the kids played games and did a coloring craft:

It was a nice way to spend our lunch hour!  Thanks for popping by today--enjoy it and be blessed!
