ColourQ259, RS132 & Catered Crop Good Medicine

DSCF5152

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Wow, what a glorious day we had here yesterday!  Beautiful weather, fun stamping with my club girls and just a glorious day!  However, Arielle’s color challenge today is a DOOZIE:

Blackberry Bliss two weeks in a row, yikes!!  She is really pushing me out of my comfort zone, LOL!   The sweet Linda McClain from Catered Crop chose this card as a winner last week, so since this week’s challenge is “Good Medicine”, I chose to make my card a get-well card!  I also used Arielle’s RetroSketches sketch from Saturday as well:

So here we go!  Flower Patch came to my rescue again, along with some Sweet Taffy DSP:

I stamped and diecut my floral images, then ran the largest one through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and adding a wee bit more color to the embossed areas with a sponge dauber.  I also embossed the right side of my white panel with the retired Tulip Frame embossing folder.  I used some retired DSP and ribbon for the Summer Starfruit portion as well.

My sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts, and I got that set JUST to have this sentiment…I think it’s so sweet!  Hopefully, this will cheer up someone who is a wee bit under the weather!

I hope you’ll play along with us too…don’t let the colors scare you, just play with them and you’ll come up with something fun, I am sure!

I promised yesterday to show you what Cassidy got in her package; here are a couple of things:

A really sweet card:

Merry Monday 125

DSCF4980

Happy Monday, peeps!  I trust you had a good weekend!  Debbie is our challenge hostess this week at Merry Monday, and check out the fun theme she’s chosen:

My first instinct was to use a vintage digital image, but I couldn’t find one that I liked!  Then I thought I would use Loads of Love, but I thought it might get used a lot and I wanted something different.  In the end, I went with a WHEEL….can you believe it?!  The name of it is Time for a Tree, and it has the same feel as Load of Love, but is a wee bit cuter, I think:

I inked up the wheel in Black Stazon, then just colored them in with markers—so fun and easy, I felt like I was back in the early days of my SU demo-ship!  The paper is from a big 6x6 stack from DCWV, and I just stamped directly onto the paper, then mounted it on a Marina Mist card.  I added some sparkly get pen to the little snowflakes too, just for fun, and added a big felt snowflake and a glimmer brad next to my MFT sentiment.

And tell me you can’t read this without getting that song in your head, LOL!!!  And since Linda’s Catered Crop challenge this week is “New Again”, and I used an old wheel, I am entering it there as well!

I hope you’ll play with us at the Merry Monday this week….Christmas will be here before you know it, so it’s a great way to get a head start on those cards!

The morning that Cassidy broke her wrist, we made homemade play-doh, coloring it blue, green and yellow:

Merry Monday 119

DSCF4188
Happy Monday, peeps!  It’s good to be back stamping some Christmas creations!  Lesley’s challenge today is a great one….check this out:

All those elements together make me think VINTAGE, so I pulled out Winter Post and a beautiful Darice EF to make my card this week:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 119 Winter Post Embossed Snowflake Vintage Christmas Card

I started with a Very Vanilla card base, then embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the snowflake EF.  I daubered white craft ink on the raised portions of the embossed piece and then adhered it to the card.  I stamped the skaters on a piece of vellum in Chocolate Chip, then cut it out with a Labels die.  I then cut a CC frame using the Labels die as well, and stamped some snowflakes around the edge, sponging for a vintage look.  The whole shebang was then adhered to the card…can you see the embossed snowflakes through the vellum?  I love that look!

I added a piece of the new SU Venetian Crochet Trim with a few little banners:

and then used the cutout from the frame for my inside sentiment:

My last step was to glitter up some of the snowflakes on the front…..a very frosty finish to my card!  And since the Catered Crop’s challenge this week is to use vellum, I’m entering this card there as well!
The DT has come up with some gorgeous samples, as usual…I hope you’ll stop by the Merry Monday blog to see them all and share yours with us as well!

Bootiful Rainy Day

DSCF2307

Hi everyone! Squeaking in a second card today because this sketch from the Paper Craft Crew is almost up:

Card Sketch

The Kraft Journal this week has a “rain” theme, and The Catered Crop is “think green”…..so I made green Wellies:

I stamped my boots from Bootiful Occasions in Basic Brown and used a blender pen and Wild Wasabi ink to color them in:

A few faux buttons and a little PTI sentiment banner, and this little card will be on its way to someone with a spring birthday!!  Thanks for poppin’ in!  And since it is just sprinkling outside, this is a perfect card for my day!

Cassidy got out some pots and pans (and a bucket!!) and was making “stew” for her doll and Lambie:

A Special Birthday Card

DSCF1165
Today’s card is for a special friend…and I have been wanting to use these little My Favorite Things Bon Appetit dies for a long time.  My friend Teri gifted me with some fabulous DPs and this was one of them, so I knew they would be a perfect pair!  There is very little stamping done; the sentiments are computer generated.  Here you go:

Look at these fun little diecuts:

I stamped the mitt with a lady bug from Itty Bitties; the bowl was stamped with Banner Blast; and the measuring cup was stamped with Gorgeous Grunge, then highlighted with a Gelly Roll pen.  I added little red stripes on the rolling pin with a marker.  I had been saving a card I received from my SIL for my birthday, and it had such a cute sentiment, I used it for the inside, along with some more Gorgeous Grunge:

I am submitting this to Linda's Catered Crop Good Birthdays Recipe Swap Quick Fire, too!  Thanks for visiting today!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

DSCF0927
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!  I hope you all will have time to spend with your sweeties, whether they be family or friends!  This is the card I made for DH:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Valentine card
I let this MME Heirloom paper do most of the work; I did add some hearts at the top and a little resin doodad from SU, which qualifies it for Linda’s Catered Crop Heart of the Matter Quickfire challenge!  Aren't these florals beautiful?
DSCF0928
I usually give DH a card with a boat or something on it, but this year, he’s getting a romantic one, LOL!   And now that my sister has received her little Valentine package, I can share what I made for her:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Valentine's Altoid Tin Vignette 1
This is a little Altoids tin I have had kicking around…it’s a bit scruffy on the outside, but that just adds to the vintage charm!  I used some Valentine images I found on the web and layered them with some hearts & stuff!  The little girl’s got some glitter on her coat, and the little pup has a heart in his mouth:

I didn’t do a whole lot of embellishing on these, but I still think they’re cute!  And here’s the outside:

And here’s my own little Valentine:

and one for you, all my sweet blog readers, this time from MY era!!!
