TSOT358 and SIP139 Happy Anniversary

Hey peeps!  Sorry this is a little later than normal...I have managed to avoid catching a cold all winter long and I am afraid it's my turn!  Just sort of lazing on the couch today, taking it easy.  I roused myself to make a card with the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch and the ribbon theme from Stamp Ink Paper:

The optional theme for TSOT was Flower Power, so I pulled out my neglected Beautiful Bouquet and three ink colors:

I stamped each of the flowers on Very Vanilla cardstock in Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride, then cut them out with the matching dies.  I swooshed some ink and water in the same colors on some scraps of VV cardstock and cut them out with a Stitched Shape circle die.  I added some speckles with Itty Bitty Backgrounds and mounted the florals on with a dimensional.  Finally I added a matching scallop layer and mounted them all on a Very Vanilla panel that was embossed with the Quilt Top embossing folder:

I stamped the sentiment with Flirty Flamingo on a scrap of VV and used one of the square Stitched Shape dies to cut and emboss it, and added my little snippet of ribbon in Powder Pink, below it:

Since the embossing causes the cardstock to become a bit flimsy, I mounted it on a base of thick Very Vanilla cardstock; that really helps give  a "firm foundation" for the embossing...and we all need a firm foundation!!  Thanks for popping in today!

Ice cream plays an important part in the Hendrickson household!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IM339 and CCC400 Feel Better Soon

Happy Monday, peeps!  I hope you had a good weekend....we had a very relaxing one....well, I did!  John worked on our remodeled bedroom upstairs above the new kitchen....the painter is done, John's working on his new closet; soon we'll have the carpet chosen and installed and then we can move out of the tiny spare bedroom!!!  Anyway, I really didn't get much stamping done, but I did make one card for the In(k)spire Me sketch challenge and the City Crafter Challenge to use polka dots:

I had this little Altenew image stamped, colored with SU Blends, and diecut, just sitting on my desk, so I pulled out some Cantaloupe Crisp polka-dotted DSP and went to work:

I diecut the edges of the DSP with Pretty Pink Posh's Scalloped Borders dies.  The image was stamped on Shimmery White cardstock, colored with Blends and SU's White Chalk Marker for the highlight.  I added an embossed sentiment from Papertrey, stamped in Craft White ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder.  A little snippet of doily added a sweet touch:

I never seem to have enough get-well cards, so this will go in my stash!

Cassidy was with her daddy this weekend, so no pix, but Dana did send me a picture of the other "child" in the family:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP382 Painted Harvest

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I am sure the sun is shining somewhere, but it certainly is hiding its face here in SE PA!  DREARY!  But it's time for another Paper Players challenge where we can make sunny projects, right?  Sandy is our hostess today and she has a great sketch for us:

My card today is not necessarily sunny, but I pulled out Painted Harvest, some True Gentleman DSP , and some colors that I think make an interesting palette:  Tranquil Tide, Sweet Sugarplum and Crumb Cake!  Here we go:

There's a lot going on here; I really had fun with this card!  I stamped the flower several times with Sweet Sugarplum ink and added a center of Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  I stamped the leaves in Crumb Cake as well, then fussy-cut everything out.  I took some retired Sweet Sugarplum glimmer ribbon and cut it into a narrow strip, then knotted one end and shredded the other, to make some matching shiny "thread" to tuck behind my flower:

I also used some embossing paste and a brick mask for the horizontal panel; added some linen thread and some embossing with the Seaside embossing folder.  The little sentiment is from Picture Perfect Birthday, as is the inside sentiment:

I stamped the smaller Painted Harvest flower directly over the sentiment with Sahara Sand ink and I really like that effect!

I hope you'll play along with us at the Players...the DT has created some lovely samples to give you lots of inspiration!  You can check them all out at the Paper Players blog!

One more photo from Cassidy's dance...can't forget Wayne!  He is such an awesome stepdad!

Thanks for popping in today..enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS325 Fabulous 50

Happy Saturday, peeps!  My card today is for a special friend who has a big day coming up...and the FMS sketch was perfect for it!

I used some Bubbles and Fizz DSP from the current SAB promotion, along with some candles from the Picture Perfect Birthday set:

The colors are so fun and bright in this DSP, it's perfect for a special birthday!  I diecut a star and added a few circular elements and some Little Numbers; Bermuda Bay glimmer paper really adds some sparkle!

The sentiments and elements in this set are easy to layer and put together...here's the inside!

Can't wait to get this in the mail!

And here's a pretty little card I received from one of my customers this week; she made a mask and used chalks to color in the background colors, which represent the water, the land and the sky!  Cool!

I might have to try this technique myself!  Thanks for visiting today and be blessed!

AYSI170 Sticker Snowman

Hello, everyone!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge....it was fun seeing what everyone's first stamp or tool was!  This week it's a new sketch and I put to use some new products that I got recently for a fun little Christmas card!  So here's the sketch:

No automatic alt text available.

And here's my card:

I got a fun little bundle of Simple Stories' Winter Wonderland from Peachy Cheap...there was a 6x6 pad, washi tape, stickers and LOTS of embellishments....more than I will be able to use in a long time!  They're all so CUTE!  So I put some of them to work on my card:

The washi tape is the vertical element; I diecut the square and circle from some of the papers; the snowman, snowflakes, and bottom sentiment are all stickers.  The "Merry Christmas" was a blank sticker and I stamped a sentiment from Our Daily Bread on it, and I stamped some random snowflakes in Soft Sky ink on the Rustic White cardbase too!

Here's the inside, using the retired Stitched With Cheer set:

This was so fun to make, especially with a sketch that has lots of elements to interpret!  I hope that you'll play along with us!  You've got two weeks to play, so plenty of time!  Check out the other designers as well, you can see them at As You See It!

We had such nice weather on Wednesday, we played some velcro ball outside! We were practicing really HIGH tosses!  The rest of the week.....cold and rainy!  Back to February reality!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Inspired By #8 Missing You

Hi peeps!  Thursday means another Inspired By challenge, and I WAS challenged! It took me longer to make this card than it should have, but that just happens sometimes!  In the end, I was happy!  Take a look:

I told my teamie Michele that I didn't have any cat stamps....but I forgot about this 100 Proof Press one...aren't these little felines cute?  I stamped them once in Basic Black, then again in Pumpkin Pie, and cut out the orange one and adhered him to the lineup!  I then used a blender pen to color him in along with adding some calico spots on the little kitty on the end:

My background of Basic Gray cardstock was textured with a Papertrey embossing plate; I added an Altenew sentiment, a scalloped mat and a little orange heart!  In hindsight, I wish I had rounded the corner of the card and the mat...maybe I'll make another one, LOL!   And here's Laurel's inspiration photo:

No automatic alt text available.

Originally, I thought to use the fox, but in the end, thought the little kitty would be "funner"!!

Be sure to check out what the other designers did...it's so cool to see their interpretations!  You can see them all at the Inspired By blog!

On a recent trip to the movies and then lunch at McDonalds:

I hope this phase passes quickly!!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Scrappy Hello

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Just a quick, no-challenge card today using up some scraps that I had been pushing around my desk, but didn't want to toss!

I just arranged the pieces on a piece of Rustic White cardstock until I liked how they looked, then added a diecut "hello" and popped on a cut-out heart.  SUPER easy and my desk is cleaner, LOL!  There isn't even any stamping on it!!!

I love these colors together, as well as that "chatter" banner!

I have had a couple of requests lately for details about the products that I used on my cards; usually I try to write everything in the little box at the end of my blog, but if you need more information, I am always happy to share.  However, you MUST include your email address in your request, or simply email me....if you sign in as anonymous, or without any contact info, I cannot respond to you!  My email address is at the upper righthand corner here in my blog where it says "Contact Me"!!  Thanks!

My sweeties!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  Be sure to pop back in tomorrow for an Inspired By challenge!

CASEing the Shower Invite with FF131

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have two sweet little cards to share today; they use the sweet little sketch from Fab Friday:

I needed a bridal shower card for my soon-to-be-niece and I loved the invitation that came for it; it had beautiful roses in deep burgundy and pink shades.  (You can see the top of it under my card).  So I pulled out my Altenew Painted Flowers and a few rosy colors of ink and went to work:

Both the background DSP as well as the tag were from CTMH's Chelsea Gardens; I backed the banner in Smoky Slate just to bring it out a little.  I originally stamped three large flowers in dark, medium and light shades of pink, but ended up not using the large pink one and created a smaller pink one.  I stamped some florals directly to the DSP, the added some greenery in Pear Pizzazz and Always Artichoke and finally added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I happened to have a little scrap of already-dyed green shabby seam binding, so I added that to the top of the banner.  It's hard to see, but there is also silver thread looped under the flowers.

The inside is a combination of two sentiments stamped in Berry Burst and Smoky Slate; the "blessed" is from Technique Tuesday and the "wishing" is from Altenew as well.  I love that layered look!

Since I already had the Altenew pink rose and greenery cut, I went ahead and created another card with the same sketch, using a scrap of Pear Pizzazz DSP and some retired baker's twine, all attached to a Blushing Bride card.  The sentiment and greenery are from a recent Paper Pumpkin kit:

MTS216 More Sewing

Hi everyone!  It's a school holiday today, so this will be quick!!  I promised that I would show you my first sewing-themed card from yesterday's Paper Players challenge...this is the one that was NOT clean and simple but it was still cute, so I thought I'd share!  It uses the Match the Sketch sketch for this week:

And here we go!  This uses the same papers as yesterday's card (Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl) but a different stamp set:  Needle Little Love by Paper Smooches:

I did some paper-piecing for the focal elements, a lot of stitched dies and the needle from SU's Quilt Builder die for my elements:

This was definitely a fun card to create!!!  Thanks for popping in today---I'm not leaving a "recipe" so if you have any questions about the supplies, send me an email!

A little snow tubing at Round Top, taking advantage of the fresh snowfall we got Saturday night:
