Be Merry

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have a Christmas card to share today!  I am usually very diligent about making holiday cards all year long, but I had quite a few left from last year, so I have been a bit of a slacker!  But the Jingle Belles challenge is to use something new that Santa might have brought you, and Sunday Stamps had a pretty floral color challenge that I thought I could translate into Chrismas:

I used a new Stamp Market stamp set called Candy Cane Christmas, along with the matching dies and a SU punch to create this:

I used Cherry Cobbler ink for the candy cane, Pool Party for the greenery, and Flirty Flamingo for the bow:

I used the Timeless Label punch to punch out some Pool Party pieces, then embossed them with Pretty Polka Dots EF (ret).  I used the new Stitched So Sweetly dies to diecut the sentiment:

I used my Stamparatus to get good coverage with the large sentiment on the inside, and I added another little sprig of greenery too:

A few sequins and it was done--it was fun creating with some new stuff!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy saw something online and since I had all the ingredients, she decided to create it the other day---an apple owl!  I believe it didn't turn out quite the way she envisioned it, but she did it all by herself...even using the knife (yikes!)!

Oops, his wing slid a little!  He is cute, though...and she ate him afterwards, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Bold Peace

Happy Saturday, peeps!  We are shopping today to pack our Operation Christmas Child boxes!  Cassidy always likes to do that!  I squeezed in some time to create a Christmas card yesterday for a few challenges:  the gorgeous photo from The Card Concept, the FMS sketch, and the metallic Christmas from  In(k)spire Me!

# 406 - 21.11.2019 Christmas-Special METALLIC - Heike 406_we10

The Card Concept always wants to know what style card you've created---I would say that this is "cleand and layered"!  I recently got a beautiful pad of patterned paper called Wonderland from KaiserCraft, and it had this gorgeous foiled paper with a funky tree design!  I matted it with a piece of Bermuda Bay foil; in order to save some of this gorgeous foil, after cutting the mat, I cut out the center of it so that I just had a "frame" on which I mounted the printed paper!  I then used part of the piece left from the inside of the frame to diecut the "peace" (Papertrey):

I also had some Bermuda Bay glimmer paper left from last Christmas, so I cut out a few little trees  (The Stamp Market) and topped them with some silver stars

On the inside, stamped with Bermuda Bay inked, I added a sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin kit, along with some Stamp Market trees:

The card base is Naturals White...missing that nice paper from SU's lineup!  Glad I got some while it was on the Clearance Rack!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
