MTCC30 Thinking of You

Happy Saturday, peeps!  My card today uses an awesome sketch from Make the Cards Challenge:

I pulled out Shaded Summer and some purple hues and went to work:

I stamped the floral image in Gorgeous Grape and Fresh Freesia, then diecut it and added some coordinating mats.  I cut three pieces of Gorgeous Grape DSP for the vertical panels and layered them on a Basic White panel that was embossed with the Ornate Flowers EF, then added the floral piece:

I added a sentiment from Quiet Meadow and a pearl, colored with a Blend, to finish it off.  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Oh, I almost forgot...I'll be taking a little blog break, so I'll see you back in a few days!

'For this is what the Lord says---he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited--he says: "I am the Lord and there is no other."'

Fabulous FMS500

Hey peeps, happy Friday!  The Freshly Made Sketches challenge is celebrating 500 challenges!  Woohoo! Congrats to them! They are an extremely talented team and I enjoy playing with them often, so of course, I had to play along this week (there are prizes too!)!  I will say this card started out as something totally different; didn't like the first attempt, changed it up a bit; didn't like that one either, and so this is not what I had planned at all but by 11pm, I was ready to call it a day!  So first, the sketch:

And here we go:

Bumblebee and Cajun Craze with accents of Copper foil are my color palette.  I stamped some images from Little Delights and Banner Year on the Bumblebee panel, embellished it with a stitched copper panel, then diecut a Cajun Craze Stitched Leaves leaf and added a foil bow from Pierced Blooms dies:

The sentiment from All Things Fabulous was heat embossed with copper embossing powder and diecut with the Ornate Frames dies; it look a little plain, so I added some Pierced Blooms leaves:

The Very Vanilla panel is also embossed with the Checks embossing folder.  I really want to use this sketch some more...it's so versatile!  Congrats again to the FMS team--here's to 500 more!  Thanks for visiting today!

Our eggplant crop was prolific this year, unlike many past years; this was only about half of what we harvested from our little garden:

So yesterday morning, I spent making eggplant parmigiana to put in the freezer:

Lots of work, but definitely worth it come wintertime!  Then Cassidy and my great-niece Emma played Uno...for about five minutes (Emma's attention span was a little short yesterday!):

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC128 Birthday Balloons

Hey there, everyone!  It's Thursday afternoon and time for Team X of the Tic-Tac-Toe crew to get busy!  If you needed a bright pick-me-up today, this would be it!  Here's my card:

And here's the grid that our hostess Felicita chose for us all:

I chose the diagonal of balloon, free and birthday, since I already had this yellow balloon diecut floating around on my desk!  It was a perfect opportunity to use it up!  I pulled out some Birthday Bonanza DSP for the background, using an additional piece to back my balloons:

I shaded the balloons a bit to give them some definition and added white cardstock behind the highlight areas.  I added some Basic Black zigzag border along the edge to complement the black sentiment banner, then added a Bermuda Bay foam diecut "you".  This was a fun card to make and I hope the recipient loves it too!

I hope you'll play along with our Tic-Tac-Toe grid this week....you're bound to find something to inspired you on our grid!  Get creative and come share it with us!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

IB184 Holiday Penguin

Hi there, stamping friends!  It's time for a fun new Inspired By challenge...and we're still doing our optional Christmas inspiration!  Check these out:

I had just the right stamp set in mind for my little penguin card, and although I didn't use the colors in either challenge photo, I still went with a Christmas theme:

I used the sketch from Global Design Project:

along with some papers from Authentique, a snowflake from SU, a sentiment from Verve, and my penguin is from Clearly Besotted.  His hat is from Right at Home, stamped in Just Jade, and I added little dots with a white gel pen:

My snowflake uses the new Stitched Snowflake dies, and it was cut from some retired SU glimmer paper.  The inside featured a sentiment from My Favorite Things (I gave lots of stamps lot of love on this one!)

We also had an optional sketch (which you can see on the IB blog), but I chose not to use that!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  And be sure to check out what the DT created...seriously, there is some major talent over there and they'd love to have you play along!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASC&S434 Ho Ho Ho

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a super duper quick card for you today!  It uses the sketch from Clean and Simple Colours and Sketches sketch for this week:

and some new goodies from the Holiday catalog!  Here we go:

Truthfully, the reason it went together so quickly is partly because I had these little Santa hats already diecut and glued together!  They were just sitting on my desk, waiting to be used on a card.  I knew I wanted to use the "ho ho" sentiment from Little Delights, and when I saw the sketch, it all came together!  To make sure I had the sentiments stamped fairly evenly, I diecut a rectangle in the lower right corner of a piece of scrap paper that was the same size as my card, then laid the whole outer portion on top of my Basic White card base, creating an opening in which I could stamp my sentiment.  I then just repeated stamping my sentiment within the "window" until I reached the bottom!

I used retired glimmer papers for my hats, diecutting one set on the back side of the paper so that it would be facing the opposite direction, then glued them together with some strong adhesive.  I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the same set on the inside!  Simple and easy!  Thanks so much for popping in today!

My great-nephews were at their cousin's graduation party on Saturday and Uncle Tommy, father of the grad, was helping them make s'mores over the campfire.

Did you know you could customize a s'more and add peanut butter to the graham cracker along with the chocolate and marshmallow????  That's what these boys did!  Sounds delicious, even to a non-s'more-lover like me!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JAI568 Lots of Love

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I am squeaking in a card today using the You're A Peach DSP, which has been quite neglected since the mini catalog came out!  I just felt like I needed to use a couple of those pretty little patterns!  So here we go:

I used the sketch from Just Add Ink:

I diecut two panels with a Stitched Rectangle die, then heat-embossed a portion of a sentiment from the Sweet Little Stockings set on an Old Olive Tailor Made Tag.  I fussy-cut a peach from another one of the DSPs and layered it on top of some Mossy Meadow Braided Trim:

I just love those wee little peaches, don't you?!  And speaking of peaches, check out what my peachy little great-nephew found out in their field recently:

Dirt, tractors and a garter snake....a little boy's dream!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS499 Fall Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  Short and sweet today!  I am squeaking in a card for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

I felt in a fall-ish mood, so I pulled out some fall colors, Forever Fern, and some  Very Vanilla cardstock, and went to work:

I stamped several images in Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Bumblebee and So Saffron, then added a few sprinkles in Crumb Cake.  I embossed it with the Tasteful Textile folder, mounted it on a Very Vanilla card base, and added a sentiment from Hand-Penned Petals:

I love these fall colors together!  Thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP555 Graduation Congrats

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  Laurie is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fun sketch:

I love sketches!  I happened to need a graduation card for a young man in our church, so this was a perfect way to put this sketch to use!  He graduated from the same high school I did, and our school colors are maroon and gold, so I got out some Merry Merlot and Bumblebee products and went to work:

My card base is Merry Merlot, and I added an embossed panel on top, using the retired Alphabet Press EF for a school vibe!  I had some leftover Bumblebee DSP from last year, so I diecut a tag and added a stitched and embossed star on top, accenting it with a Merry Merlot tab and some twill ribbon from my stash:

The sentiment is from Hand-Penned Petals, diecut with the Tasteful Labels die.  Easy and fun!

What will you create with this sketch?  Check out what the DT made at the Paper Players blog, then share your creation with us too!  Thanks for popping by today!

Yesterday was to have been Cassidy's birthday party, but due to her fractured ankle, they decided to put up a tent and have a drive-by!  Her friend Ben came over to hang out with her, and here they are posing with one of her favorite gifts...a giant squirt gun.  She'll have to wait until her ankle heals to use it though!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Vintage Typewriter for FFC0091

Happy Saturday!  I have a quick little card today for a family friend who just had an operation; I used the sketch from In(k)spire Me and several items from Festive Friday:  alphabet, typewriter, layers, and patterned paper:

And here we go:

I went way back into the archives for a few of these items, LOL!  I began with a piece of Crumb Cake I embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, and I gave it a bit of color with some Soft Suede ink.  The patterned papers are from Orchard Harvest, retired quite a few years ago, and the image is from Puns from the Past!  I did add a sentiment from Hero Arts, diecut with a Tasteful Labels die.

Hope he recuperates quickly!  Thanks for popping in today!

I realized I missed sharing a couple of birthday cards!  This one is from Karen:

And this beauty is from Michele:

Now we're off to do Cassidy's birthday party--a drive-through, since she can't do her regular party with all the activities!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI257 Gather Together

Hi everyone!  Yay, it's Friday!  And that means a new As You See It challenge, and this week it's a recipe!  I love these, and I really loved this one!  A great way to introduce your fall stamping:

Surprisingly, this came together quickly!  The hardest part was diecutting the stitched mat!  Here we go:

I got these wheat dies a couple years ago and haven't used them much, so this was a perfect time!  I cut them from Crumb Cake and backed them with a Very Vanilla stitched mat die from The Greetery.  I had some leftover gingham DSP in Soft Suede, and I liked the monochromatic look with the Crumb Cake, so it all went together nicely.

I used a sentiment from Pretty Pumpkins, stamping it in Soft Suede, then diecutting it with a Stitched Rectangle die and running it through the Tasteful Textile EF for a little additional dimension.  I finished it off with some thick Baker's Twine:

A Thanksgiving sentiment was stamped on the inside, and it was done!  Be sure to check out what the DT created....it always amazes me that despite the same recipe, we all create things that are vastly different and creative!  We hope you'll play along too...check them all out at As You See It!

Cassidy loves Legos, especially the really detailed ones with itty bitty teeny weeny pieces!  She got the Paris skyline one for her birthday and started it yesterday:

She got quite a bit done....this is just the very beginning!  I'll be sure to show you a picture of the finished project when it's done!  And you can see that the boot isn't hindering a thing, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

IB183 Peaceful Greenery

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for a new Inspired By Challenge, and we've got two beautiful photos to inspire you:

You can choose the first one to make a generic card or the second one to make a holiday card!  I just happened to get a new stamp set that featured lots of foliage, so that's the one I chose!  Once I got started, I just kept going! Here we go:

I drew two lines at the lower third of my card and stamped the greenery from Close to My Heart's Merry Borders in various shades of green on either side. I also added some other greenery from W+9's Merry and Bright.  I added pine cones from the same set, candy canes from another CTMH set (Just Treats Stamp of the Month), and some red berries cut with SU's Poinsettia dies:

I added a Kraft panel, stamped with the lines image from Gorgeous Grunge, then added the "peace", diecut from some retired Brushed Silver cardstock.  And here's the inside:

I am also entering this at the Jingle Belles, because they're asking us to make a card with NO designer paper---and this just happens to fit the bill!

Please stop by the Inspired By blog to see the amazing creations the design team made, then share yours with us as well!  See you there!  And thanks for popping in today!
