Paper Players 280 Yellow Bird

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Wow, can you believe it is the last day of January?!  I am excited to spend some time today with my club hostesses!  I stopped my clubs temporarily, so this is a chance for me to reconnect with them and show them my appreciation.  But first, it's time for the Paper Players, and Jaydee is our hostess today with a fun Tic-tac-toe challenge!

As soon as I saw "birds", I knew that I would be using that bottom horizontal line for my card!  It gave me a chance to use lots and lots of images, papers and elements for my eclectic card:

Hello Honey and Basic Black are the main colors I've used, along with some MME Sunshine papers.  I've used a plethora of stamps, including Red Lead Paperworks' Bird,  SU's Timeless Textures, Crafty Secrets Birds, Simon Says Stamp Grid Background, and a stamp set from Pink Paislee that has no name on it...it just has lots of vintagey French ephemera and cool uplifting sentiments!  I added a wee bit of watercoloring to my bird, and a shabby seam binding bow, along with a diecut zigzag edge:

A couple of banners, one in champagne glimmer paper, and a sweet little sentiment:

And you can see the Grid background stamped in white, along with some other textures and bird images!  Oooh, I had so much fun making this card!  My desk was a mess but I was HAPPY!

I didn't make this card for any particular occasion, so I left the inside blank...when the need arises, I can add the appropriate sentiment!  Now, let's see how the other designers used the tic-tac-toe grid!  Check them out:

And I hope you'll play along with us as well!

Cassidy is "potty training" her little boy baby doll Liam (who is anatomically correct, which makes for some interesting scenarios!) and she made a Potty Chart, with 100 spaces on it.  Amazingly, he got all 100 check marks on his first try, LOL!  We should all learn so quickly, right?!  Enjoy your day!

FMS221 Hello

Happy Saturday, all!  Just a very quick post, a CAS card for Freshly Made Sketches:

I desperately wanted to use this gorgeous Pool Party glimmery ribbon that's in the spring mini, and that big "hello" from the Hello set was perfect for the sentiment:

I love the combination of Pool Party and Basic Black...so that's what I used!  Ribbon & sequins, and it was done!  Easy peasy!

Cassidy decided to build a ski/shoveling machine with her Legos....all the snow must have prompted her engineering decision!

Enjoy your day!

CYCI104 and CTD377 Sympathy

Happy Friday, peeps!  We made it to the weekend!  Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card this week so I used the Can You Case It sketch and the Color Throwdown colors:

CYCI#104

I pulled out some old Indigo Bleu papers and an Artistic Outpost stamp called The Outpost:

After diecutting my background pieces with various stitched dies, I did some random stamping of the leaves in Crushed Curry and Smoky slate.  I stamped the house image on Ivory Naturals with Crumb Cake ink and my sentiment from Daily Designs Sentiments (Papertrey) in Soft Suede.  My final embellishment were three little stitched leaves from Lawn Fawn:

The sentiment on the inside is also from Papertrey (Everyday Blessings), and I added some leaves there too.

Enjoy your day!

MM189 One-Layer Christmas

Happy Thursday, peeps!  A quick card today for the Merry Monday gals, this time Debbie wants us to make a one-layer card!  Easy peasy!

I have a plethora of pretty papers, some of which are fairly sturdy, so I chose this design from MME's Lost & Found Christmas, cut it to size and stamped a My Favorite Things sentiment on the front!  That was it!  I did do a little sponging around the edges with Delightful Dijon ink to give it some antique glow!

Although you can't see it from the photo, the red design is glittery!!!  And I did punch the lower corner with SU's corner punch for a little extra interest!  Another one for the stash!

I have a new customer, she is as sweet as can be and already a talented stamper!  I recently won this cool Pocket Full of Sketches tool from Julie Davison (another sweetie), and I shared it with my customer to give her some ideas for sketches.  She sent me this picture of a card she created!  Isn't it awesome?

She used papers from the It's My Party DSP and card stock series and Endless Birthday Wishes for her sentiment!  I think I might have to CASE it myself!  Enjoy your day!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Fun Fold Cards

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  My upline Pennie has a FB page where lots of her downline share ideas!  My friend Janice shared a fun folded card there and she graciously gave me the measurements, so I made a couple of my own.  (I will share the measurements at the end of the post.)  My first one features Love Blossoms DSP, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler along with Something to Say, Remember This, and Friendly Wishes:

So the front of the card looks like a regular card (I added some twine to hold the folds together), but when it opens...tada!

The smaller right panel folds under the larger left panel, and you can decorate all three of them any way you like!  Here's the inside:

The second one features Birthday Bouquet DSP and Suite Sayings:

I used Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride for my colors and since the DSP has a fairly large pattern, I chose not to decorate the smaller panel and use just a simple sentiment for the front!

Here are the measurements:
  • DSP:  4 x 3 1/4" and 4 x 1 1/2"
  • Mats for DSP and back of card: 4 1/2 x 3 3/4", 4 1/8 x 3 3/8" and 4 1/8 x 1 5/8"
  • Card base is 10 1/2 x 4 1/4, scored at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 7" and 8 3/4"
  • If you want to add an optional layer to the inside:  4 x 3 1/4"
Have fun!  Any questions, give me a shout!

A little snow fun:

Enjoy your day!

MTS108 Thanks

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I am squeaking in a card for the Match the Sketch challenge:

and I am using some new stuff and some old stuff!  Here we go:

I was really tempted to use the Window Frame thinlit, but a lot of people used that, so I thought I would go in a different direction!  I did use some new DSP from the Love Blossoms line, but I added a embossed panel (Softly Falling) and some punched butterflies....white on white looks so nice against this Rose Red floral, don't you think?

I added a little "thanks" from Another Thank You photopolymer set and plopped it atop my little banners made of another Love Blossoms DSP and Whisper White cardstock:

Thanks for popping in today!

No Cassidy pix today, sorry....you'll have to look at some snow!

Poor Dana - we had to shovel out her car; it was totally enclosed in snow!  She had a good attitude for the most part, though!

John's garage doors were blocked:

Here's just one pile of snow....and an overhanging avalanche ready to slide off the shed roof!

Too bad we can't save some of it to cool us off in the middle of the summer!!

PPA284 Another Baby Card

Happy Monday, peeps!  Wow, what a weekend...what a blizzard!  I think we got about 30-36" of fluffy white stuff!  It snowed for more than 24 hours!  Hope everyone weathered the storm okay!  I did get to spend a little time stamping, this time I played with the Pals Paper Arts sketch:

PPA-284-Jan21

Another baby card...not sure why I have babies on my mind, but this DSP was laying on my desk, and it's sort of an odd color for a baby card--Tip Top Taupe--but the prints were cute, so I went with it!  It's about as simple as you can get..a bit of starry embossing on the Very Vanilla card base, a couple of sentiments punched out with circle punches and some VV thick twine:

I did do a little playing around with a couple of the sentiments from Greatest Greetings on the inside.....fun to mix them up!

Only one little picture of Cassidy...she was at her daddy's this weekend weathering the storm with Lambie and Chase...and a wee bit tuckered out:

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 278 Get Well Sooner

Hi peeps!  Happy Sunday....are you snowed in?  LOL!  Nance is our hostess with the mostest today, and she has a wonderful sketch for us today play with at the Paper Players!  Here ya go:

I am also using the fun colors from Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMC390

And here's my card:

Since the colors are so strong, I chose to use a lot of texture rather than a lot of stamping!  I used the Large Polka Dot EF for the background; the Decorative Dots for the circle; and the Happy Hearts for the banner!  My sentiment is from Greatest Greetings, stamped in Lost Lagoon, and the flowers are from Friendly Wishes.  I also used some of the new Silky Taffeta ribbon and some well-placed pearls!

And on the inside, I used the cutout from the Butterflies thinlit from the front as an accent:

Be sure to check out what the other designers created this week too...you'll love them!  You can find them at the PP blog, or check them out at the links below!
