PP530 Sweet Friend Sketch

Hi stampers!  Sunday brings a new Paper Players challenge with Ann as our hostess and she's sharing a great sketch!  Here we go:

I have been itching to play with the new set Welcoming Window, so I paired it with some colors from the Color Dare Tic-Tac-Toe palette:

I chose the top row across, using Highland Heather, Mossy Meadow and Balmy Blue!  So here we go:

I did a bit of creative stamping and diecutting to get the window the way I wanted, then added the vase and flowers:

This set has a lot of sweet sentiments, and I love this one; I cut it out with the Tasteful Labels die:

I added this sweet little corner vine:

and another pretty sentiment, backed with some brick:

I am also entering this at the Krafty Chicks, where they are looking for "occasions"!

This is a great basic sketch that can be made as simple or layered as you want!  Can't wait to see how you interpret it!  Be sure to pop over to the Paper Players blog to check out the awesome samples!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Thanks a Bunch

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope you have a nice weekend planned!  It's raining here so I SHOULD be cleaning up my craft room....we'll see how that goes, LOL!  I do have a quick little card for the FMS sketch by Judy, as well as the Sunday Stamps color challenge...I love orange, but it took me a little while to figure out what I wanted to do with it!

So since I had this Basket Bunch still on my desk from last week (remember I said I needed to clean up!?) I thought a little punny card would be fun:

I used Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Sahara Sand as my colors; I stamped the carrots in black and colored them with Blends, then diecut them and layered them on a panel of Sahara Sand.  The ribbon was some Grapefruit Grove retired grosgrain that I "dyed" with a Pumpkin Pie Blend.  Once it dried, I adhered it to the bunch of carrots with a glue dot.  The horizontal panel is Pumpkin Pie, diecut with a die from Ornate Layers, and the sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze:

I also added some background speckles using the Sweet Ice Cream set!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

A little funny my sister sent me:

TMS594 Sympathy

Happy Friday, peeps!  The weekend is upon us...albeit a wet one, but I can't complain since we've had some lovely sunshine the last couple of days!  Sadly, I needed another sympathy card, and I really liked the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week:

Woven Heirlooms is a lovely set that doesn't see enough ink in my craft room, and it has a perfect sympathy sentiment, so I paired it with some almost-retired SAB papers from Flower & Field:

I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black, then added a Basic Black mat as well as some Rococo Rose diecut flowers; they looked a little plain, so I colored some retired Candy Dots with my Basic Black Blend, and added a few black leaves to complement the pattern in the DSP:

I am a big proponent of color in my sympathy cards....they don't have to be garish, but I think some muted colors like these are appreciated!  Thanks so much for popping in today---enjoy your day and be blessed!

Tic Tac Toe 102 A Green Hello

Hi peeps!  Time for a new Tic-Tac-Toe challenge with Betty on Team X as our hostess!  Here's her grid:

I actually made three cards for the challenge!  My first one uses the center column of Shades of Green, Word Diecut and Enamel Dots!  I pulled out some Toile Tidings Christmas DSP in Garden Green along with Forever Fern to get started:

I used the Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch:

I stamped some of the greenery on a piece of Very Vanilla, then added a couple of layers (got the printed DSP in the right direction this time!) and added a diecut sentiment in Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green on top, along with an Old Olive bow and a little Glitter Enamel Dot for fun:

A sentiment from Berry Blessings was stamped on the inside, along with another fern:

My second and third cards use some lovely older CTMH papers...they're so pretty, they don't need much embellishment at all!  This time, I used the top row of Thinking of You Sentiment, Shades of Green and Stenciling:

They are both mounted on Kraft paper card bases.  They also both use stencils from SU, using a Blender Brush and Soft Suede ink.  This one also uses some thick Baker's Twine and a little banner:

Here's a detail of the stenciling:

This one simply uses some Gold Metallic Pearls along with the stenciling.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts:

The eclectic patterns on the paper lend themselves very well to the stenciling!  And I always need encouragement cards, so these will be perfect, and they were easy to make, too!

I hope you'll play along with our Tic-Tac-Toe grid...so many different ways to create!  Check out what the DT made at our blog as well!  See you there!

Dana's neighbor took his sons and Cassidy to a neighboring farm to go sledding!

The hill behind the barn looked pretty steep!  I wonder where her hat went????

By the way the snow is flying around her feet, she must have been using them as brakes!!!

I wonder if the cows wanted to go sledding too?!!!  Thanks for popping by today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB163 Take A Number

Hey everyone!  Happy Thursday!  We have a cute inspiration photo for you today at Inspired By:

And here's the optional sketch:

This challenge came along at just the right time for me, as I needed  a birthday card for special lady at my church who is turning 90!!!  So here we go:

I started with a So Saffron card base and added a mat of pretty floral  DSP  from the SAB Paper Blooms.  I colored in a few of the flowers with my So Saffron marker to complement my palette!  The retired Large Numbers were used to cut "90" from some Misty Moonlight cardstock that had been adhered to a Foam Sheet.  I created my own DSP by stamping some flowers from the retired Blooms & Wishes on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then matting it with some Night of Navy, diecut with a Stitched So Sweetly die.  A few flowers cut with the Pierced Blooms dies and a banner and sentiment from the retired Number of Years finished it off:

The inside has a few more flowers and this sweet sentiment from the same set:

Our friend is nearly blind but hopefully she'll be able to see this big bold 90!!!  And I hope you'll be able to play with some numbers of your own!  The possibilities are endless!  Check out what the DT created at the Inspired By blog to get some inspiration!

Can you see a little dog in here?  She always snuggles in to get warm:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Celebrating SAB

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  There are only a few more days left of Sale-a-bration!  I wanted to make a few more cards using some of the beautiful papers featured this year, so here we go:

I'm only sharing two today; the first one uses Flower & Field DSP and a couple of sentiment from Free as a Bird, and is also for the challenge from Global Design Project, which is to CASE the Designer:

I basically used her sketch, stamping the sentiments in Misty Moonlight to match those pretty flowers:

I love how the papers coordinate so well!

The second one uses the Berry Delightful DSP and Berry Blessings stamp set; it's a little busier for sure!  It also fulfills the Little Red Wagon challenge to use a tag:

I added a Pear Pizzazz frame along with some Pierced Blooms flowers in Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry, and tied it with the gorgeous Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon:

And since the TGIF challenge this week is to highlight SAB, I'm entering it there as well!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Cassidy built a crane with her latest STEM kit:

So clever!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Jingle Belles Text Me

Happy Monday, peeps!  I'm sharing the card I originally made for last week's Paper Players challenge, but I forgot one of the colors....black!  But it was still a cute card, so I am going to share it today.  It uses papers from the same MME pad but it uses a subway-style sentiment stamp I've had for a few years from CTMH, which makes it perfect for the Jingle Belles "Text Me" challenge!!  Here we go:

I used the Fab Friday sketch:

and I used some Red Glimmer paper and Silver Foil for my banners, adding some stars randomly:

inside and out!  The sentiment on the inside is from Concord & 9th's Joyful Noel, diecut with a Pretty Pink Posh stitched die:

It all went on a Blushing Bride card base!  Thanks for popping in today!

Over the weekend, we drove from PA to northwestern NC to buy a truck for John!  He's really fussy about the kind of truck he drives so when he saw it on line, he jumped at the chance.  It's a stick shift, which is hard to find, most everyone wants automatic!  We left at the ungodly hour of 2:30 am to beat traffic around Baltimore and DC but of course, we did hit it on the way home.  Yuck!  Here is Mr Photogenic getting ready to drive it home:

I also loved this sign from inside the little used-car dealership:

along with cool photo from 1955 in Myrtle Beach!

All my full-time working years were spent at dealerships, so it was like walking down memory lane!  Thanks for popping in today!
