TSOT 585 Christmas Camper

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I got these Tree Lot dies during SAB to match the Trees for Sale set and have barely used them, so I thought I'd remedy that today!  My sister and BIL have a camper (not like this one though---much bigger!) and so I thought it would be fun to use the camper die to create a card for them.  Here we go:

I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday:

I cut the elements from Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Shaded Spruce and retired Brushed Silver cardstocks and assembled my little camper, coloring in the tire with black and silver markers.  I used some retired Classic Christmas DSP from a couple years back and added a few Shaded Spruce trees in the background:

The sentiment from the same set was stamped in Real Red and accented with some tiny die-cut stars...aren't they the cutest?  Just so much to love about these dies and stamps!  Thanks for popping by today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC501 Retro Christmas

Happy Tuesday, peeps, hope you're all doing well!  I haven't made a retro Christmas card for a while, and I got some cute papers from Prima recently that worked well with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch; here's the sketch:

and here we go:

I let the paper do most of the work!

I cut out a big scalloped circle and adhered it to a striped piece, then ran some machine-stitching around the outer edges.  I stamped a sentiment from an old Cornish Heritage Farms vintage Christmas set in Soft Succulent, then diecut it with the Stylish Shapes dies:

I did lots of fussy-cutting, snipping out this little cutie along with the poinsettia behind her and the bow on the sentiment:

I added a few colored pearls before I mounted everything on a Pink Pirouette card base and stamped another CHF stamp on the inside in Poppy Parade:

These images are the ones I remember from my early childhood and they always make me happy!

Here's a sweet treat Cassidy found....probably at Walmart!  That's a lot of candy! THREE pounds!  My teeth hurt just looking at it!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS563 Sympathy

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  It's never fun to make sympathy cards but having to make them during holidays is extra-challenging. Our friend's father passed away after many years of illness and blindness, so although they will miss him here on earth, they rejoice in knowing he's with his Saviour!  I made them a simple sympathy card using the sketch from FMS:

I recently got some lovely plaid DSPs with masculine colors so I started wtih a mossy green one:

Although this tree stamp and diecut is from the Trees for Sale set, I thought it would still be appropriate for a masculine sympathy card.  I stamped and diecut the bottom tree layer with Mellow Moss, then diecut the upper layer with Mossy Meadow.  I mounted it on a Very Vanilla circle with a mat of Evening Evergreen.  The sentiment, from Hero Arts, was also stamped on Mossy Meadow cardstock in  Evening Evergreen ink:

On the inside of my Very Vanilla card, I stamped an older Our Daily Bread Designs stamp in Evening Evergreen:

And it's ready to go in the mail!

On Saturday, we decorated the church for Advent, and Dana brought Cassidy along to help. I put her in charge of the little Nativity set we put in the entryway:

I really love the camel she had peeking out of the stable!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP620 Santa Sketch

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge and this week, as we wind up November, Laurie has a fun sketch for us:

I just got this Simon Says Stamp Santa die in a recent order and couldn't resist playing with him for today's challenge!  Here we go:

This chubby guy is a little fussy to put together but he's so cute, I didn't mind.  I layered Blushing Bride, Real Red and Basic White, along with some scraps of glimmer paper to create him, giving him some really rosy cheeks with my Blender pen and Flirty Flamingo ink....might have to tone that down next time, LOL!  I stamped a sentiment from  the retired Wrapped in Christmas and added a wee little "Make it Merry" from SSS's Joy to You & Yours:

The panel looked a little bare so I diecut some red glimmer paper stars for fun, then mounted it all on a piece of Classic Christmas DSP.  You can't go wrong with traditional red and green, especially when Santa is involved!

I hope you'll play along with our fun sketch this week; I love sketches, they're a great jumping-off point when you need a card!  Check out what the Design Team did with it at the Paper Players blog, then share yours with us too!

This is totally unrelated to stamping, but during the Thanksgiving break I have been watching a Netflix series called The Extraordinary Attorney Woo.  Anyone ever see it?  I love quirky movies and series and this one fits the bill!  It's a Korean series about a young female attorney who has autism.  It's a little unsettling to have the English words dubbed in, but the plot lines are ingenious and watching the attorney deal with her autism in a professional and personal setting is really interesting.  I just want to reach into the TV and hug her....but she doesn't like to be touched!  If you like quirky films, you should give it a try!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TGIF396 Joy Love Peace

Happy Saturday, peeps! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.  Ours was very quiet and I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things! Normally I'd be putting up my Christmas decorations but it just doesn't feel quite like Christmas yet to me!  We'll be decorating our church today so maybe that will put me in the mood!

The TGIF challenge for this week was a pretty one:

It reminded me of a Unity stamp I had gotten several years ago.  I stamped and embossed it in white on some Basic Black cardstock and went to work:

I also just got a couple new stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp; I stamped the small "joy love peace" in the upper corner, and the larger "Joy" stamp on a piece of woodgrain paper, embossing them both:

My sweet friend Michele just gifted me some SSS goodies too...these diescuts are from the Pepperberry die/embossing folder set; I watercolored the leaves with some Garden Green ink and added a shabby seam binding bow:

I added a simple Christmas sentiment on the inside of my Crumb Cake card and it was finished!  Thanks for popping in today!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!  Here are a few vintage postcards from my vast digital stash!  Enjoy!

"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  Know that the Lord is God.  it is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanskgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."  Psalm 100

IC130 Strength for Today

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Hope those of you who are hosting the big turkey day tomorrow are right on schedule!  I have a simple card today using the wide-open sketch from Inspire.Create:

My sweet stamping friend/church co-worker/small group prayer warrior Robyn had knee surgery earlier this week, so I wanted to make a get-well card for her.  The sketch left everything to one's imagination!  I pulled out some pretty Prima Farm Sweet Farm papers and a Hymn Block stamp from Sweet & Sassy and this is what I came up with:

I love these words from Great is Thy Faithfulness; I stamped them directly on to the DSP in Merry Merlot ink using my Stamparatus:

The papers also have lots of little country-related images, so I snipped a couple out, mounted them on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, added some Braided Linen Trim and mounted it all on a Merry Merlot card base:

And I just realized as I was writing this that I stuck the card in the envelope and never signed the card.  Sigh....hopefully she'll get a giggle out of my faux pas!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC500 Hues of Happiness Birthday

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is a long skinny one this week:

and so I decided to make a birthday card using the beautiful Hues of Happiness DSP; they have several ombre patterns which I thought would fit the sketch nicely!  So here we go:

Stampin' Up! has some long skinny envelopes in this year's catalogs, so I made my card 8 1/2" x 3 3/4" to fit.  I cut one panel of the ombre DSP, then fussy cut flowers to coordinate with each section, stamping the birthday greeting from Happiness Abounds in Melon Mambo below the pink flower:

These papers are so gorgeous, making a beautiful card is quite easy!  I stamped two more sentiments on the inside and stamped a floral outline in Blushing Bride on top.  And it's ready to go in the mail!

I finally found a primitive frame at a yard sale recently for 25 cents; it was the right size to frame my little turkey sampler that I stitched in 2020! I took a break from stamping and put it all together just in time for the holiday!

I have to stop stitching these things...I'm running out of room to display them, LOL!  Thanks for visiting today...enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS562 Merry Everything

Happy (COLD) Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend!  I am squeaking in this last-minute card for the FMS sketch this week....not a really good interpretation of the sketch, but I had an idea in my head and wanted to stick with it!  Here's the sketch:

I took a couple of liberties with the sketch, orienting it to the other side of the card so my Santa would not be flying in the wrong direction!!!

I stamped the Santa and reindeer in Starry Sky ink and added the little silhouette village in Starry Sky cardstock.  The sentiment and snowflakes were stamped in Seaside Spray ink.  I found a little scrap of Marina Mist glimmer paper for my vertical piece.  The hardest part was curving the sentiment to go the right way...it's a red rubber stamp from Jingle All the Way (ret), and it doesn't curve quite as easily as a photopolymer one does!  My Stamparatus helped me a lot!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP618 CAS Gnome Christmas

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's time for a new challenge from the Paper Players, and Joanne is our sweet hostess with a great CLEAN AND SIMPLE theme that is sure to get everyone in a holiday card-making mood!  Here we go:

I had lots of ideas swirling around in my head for this challenge, since I have thousands of Christmas stamps, but there were a couple of fun challenges out in blogland that I thought would work with CAS creation....so here we go:

I saved this cute little gnome set from two years ago called Gnome for the Holiday and stamped them on some Thick Basic White cardstock.  I also stamped and cut two masks, then layered them over my little gnomes and stamped the treehouse in the background.  After watercoloring them in, I added the sentiment, some starry sequins, and rounded the corners for just a wee bit of interest:

There's also some Wink of Stella going on, but of course, you can't see it in the photo!  But it does make it sparkle and shine!  So the TGIF challenge this week is gnomes, and the Jingle Belles want us to make a card using their banner as an inspiration, and the Color Hues challenge is scarlet and green!

I hope you'll be able to play along with our challenge this week....just remember to keep it clean and simple!  It's hard sometimes to not add layers and doodads, but you can do it!  Stamps, ink and paper---the basics---are all you need!  Check out what the other designers did at the Paper Players and get some inspiration there! Thanks for popping in, enjoy your day and be blessed!
