I have been making thank you cards since Christmas; this one is for a male friend of ours from church, so it gave me a chance to use some cool papers from Echo Park along with a couple of SU sentiments:

DSCF1908

The front uses a sentiment from Blessings from Heaven; I actually cut this sentiment apart, which makes it much easier to ink up the “friend” in a different color, as I did here!  And since I am hand-delivering this, I was happy to use a corduroy button as an accent!

Word Play was the sentiment I used for the inside, and I used a couple of dies from Apothecary Accents for some added interest!

For my sketch, I used the Stampin’ Royalty sketch #156:

Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy was enthralled by my nephew’s iPhone….she knew just how to make it work, too!  The look of concentration…….

Happy Friday!  I finally did some stamping yesterday!!  Getting back into the groove!  I loved the color challenge from Create with Connie & Mary:

2012 Create Thursday-012

and I needed a couple of birthday cards for this weekend, so I went to work:

This one uses a new paper doily from the upcoming Spring Mini as well as the sketch from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday:

I used a small heart punch to make my silver glimmer hearts and used the Fancy Fan EF for my background!  The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake, stamped directly on to the doily:

This also qualifies for the Little Red Wagon challenge this week, which is to make a square card!  Thanks for visiting!

A couple more pix from Christmas;  Cassidy got a little “rag doll” and she tried to make it stand up:

and she promptly complied when Dana told her to give her a kiss:

She did wonder where her nose was, though!  That kid doesn’t miss a thing!

The Day After

DSCF1893

What day is it?  It feels like Saturday or Sunday, not Wednesday!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday…we did, but now I am suffering from those post-holiday blues…..I just sort of puttered around the house this morning, and finally decided STAMPING would lift my spirits!  Now that I’ve played, I can concentrate on cleaning up a bit!

I needed a special thank you card, so I flipped the RetroSketches sketch 43:

so that I could play with some new goodies:

Unfortunately, this is one time where my MS glitter didn’t look so hot, but once that stuff is glued down, it’s not coming off!

DSCF1892

This is also for the Shopping Our Stash challenge 82, which is winter but not Christmas!  I used some pleated and gingham ribbons that have been in my stash a while!

Cassidy got right into the spirit of things yesterday; she actually sat through the entire church service Dana attended on Christmas eve:

and loved unwrapping her gifts on Christmas morning almost as much as playing with them:

Grampy came to the rescue on a particularly tricky package!

We even had snow on Christmas eve!

Have a blessed day!  Any questions, shoot me an email!

ColourQ169 & US190

DSCF1783

Merry Christmas!  I hope you all are having a wonderfully blessed day with your families!  I had some free time to create a baby card for a friend of my daughter’s who had her baby on Saturday before Christmas!  Arielle’s ColourQ challenge for this week was the perfect color combo:

I had Nursery Necessities already out on my table---sadly, it is retired, but it is still handy for baby cards!

LeAnne_CQC169

I wish I had used a colored background for my photo….I hope you can see the details!  Pretty simple, but a fun layout, which came from Unscripted Sketches this week:

The sentiment, which is from Petite Pairs, was perfect for the inside as well…added a little star and we’re done!  I can’t wait to see this little fellow….his mom and Dana grew up together, so now hopefully their children will grow up together too!

If you have some free time this week…maybe you’re off work, or are home with the children….I hope you’ll play along with us!  A few of the courtiers are taking a break, but if you want to see the other creations, just hop over to the ColourQ blog to see what’s there!

I hope to have some Christmas pictures to share this week!  Here are a couple from last week, a blueberry breakfast!:

Merry Christmas!!

“While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”  Luke 2:6-7

This vintage postcard reminded me of Cassidy and her doll….and the fact that Jesus came into this world as a baby to save us all from sin!  Have a blessed Christmas!

Another Week to Play with the Paper Players!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I don’t have a new Paper Players creation for you today as our challenge goes until Friday, December 28!  So you can check it out here and still play along!  I will be back on Christmas Day with my ColourQ challenge card, so be sure to stop back when you have time.  We are ALL busy at this time of the year, so just relax and take your time!!!  Meanwhile, here are a few pictures of Cassidy, changing her doll’s diaper:

She started on the floor:

Couldn’t quite get it to work, so she moved to Grampy’s chair:

RS42 Blackboard Style

DSCF1774

I am squeaking in another post today because I wanted to use the RetroSketches sketch from this week:

Everybody is jumping on the blackboard bandwagon, so I searched my stash for a couple of stamps that might look “blackboardy”:

DSCF1775

Actually, the whole reason for making the card (besides the fact that I needed a birthday card!) was that Cassidy was playing with all my ribbons today and this was one she had….it was sparkly and pretty, so I decided to design my card around it!  The images I used are from SU (Word Play) and Waltzingmouse; I stamped them on black cardstock, added some white chalk and dusted off them off with an Embossing Buddy…worked like a charm!  It’s hard to see, but the sentiment is punched in a circle and popped up:

DSCF1776

Here are a couple of pictures of Cassidy draping herself with my ribbons….very serious work!  Don’t worry, she wasn’t going to strangle herself, I watched her the whole time, LOL!

Enjoy your weekend…..it’s getting down to the wire!  Lots of plans for tomorrow!  Stay safe and warm!
