JUGS281 and Casology135
A quick card today, that seems to be all I can squeak out these days! The CASology challenge this week is “mini”, and the Just Us Girls challenge is a color one:
I needed a “sort-of” get-well card for a sweet someone who had some foot surgery, and this image of bunny slippers from 100 Proof Press seemed to fit the bill:
The card itself measures 3 5/8” x 4 1/4”; I ran a folded card through my Big Shot with the fold below the die edge, using a Lil’Inker Stitched Mat die, and it worked beautifully! I stamped my image in Stazon Black and also diecut it with a Lil’Inker Stitched Circle die, then colored it with my aquapainter and Pink Pirouette ink; I actually got all four colors in there! The bunny ears are Smoky Slate, the mat is Crumb Cake, and the sentiment from And Many More is Night of Navy! I added some sparkle to the bunny tails too…can’t ever have enough sparkle!
And just so she knows it’s not an Easter card, I added this on the inside:
It’s 10 degrees outside, yet she tells me she’s HOT, hence the gymnastics outfit:
Thanks for visiting today!

SSSC257 and CCCB250 Scrappy Card
Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a cheerful card today using scraps! The City Crafter Challenge Blog wants us to use up some scraps today and I sure have a lot of them!
I also used Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch:
I pulled out a bunch of scraps from the Best Year Ever SAB DSP package, along with a few scraps of cardstock, to create my card:
I had some Calypso Coral cardstock already embossed, so I punched out a circle along with the cute little banner from You Brighten My Day for my embellishment:
Some twine and a punched border finished it off!

KJ212 and CYCI58 One-Layer Birthday
Happy Tuesday, everyone! My card today is for the Kraft Journal’s one-layer challenge! I need to apologize to the KJ’s Marsha Drain; I saw her card after I created mine, but I guess great minds think alike! You can check her card out here!!! I had been thinking of this technique for a while, so I was happy to put it to use:
After a little trial and error, I learned that when embossing, you need to stamp and emboss your main image FIRST, then stamp the background! My line of flowers is from Bordering Blooms, stamped in Craft White ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the flowers with reinkers and an aquapainter, adding shading after each ink color dried:
I then stamped the sentiment from Fabulous Four, embossed it, and stamped over top of the whole shebang with the floral image from Hello Darling in Blushing Bride ink , adding some Gold Encore speckles, and a few well-placed sequins:
Finally, I rounded one corner and added a Mossy Meadow bow….one-layer with a few interesting embellishments! I am also submitting this to the Can You CASe It challenge 58, Designer’s Choice!
In an effort to help Cassidy put her own clothes away, Dana recently put pictures and words on her dresser drawers to help her identify where to put what! Good idea, right? So it was not a surprise to me when, after we “organized” her doll clothes yesterday, Cassidy informed me that she needed “drawers” and some rectangles of paper on which to write each category of clothing. I got her some little plastic baskets, and she told me what she wanted the labels to say. I spelled them for her and she wrote them out:
She has discovered my glue dots (uh-oh) and used one to fasten each label to each basket:
And then she carefully placed them, along with her doll’s shoes (not sure why we didn’t get a basket for them!) on my kitchen floor:
So now we just need to find a better place to put them, NOT on my kitchen floor, LOL!
Enjoy your day!

AYSI070 and PPA 240 Baby Shower Cards
Happy Saturday, peeps! Thanks for the well-wishes, I felt better enough to do some stamping for my niece’s baby shower we’re attending today! Her invites were gray and yellow, and she’s having a boy, so I chose those colors plus a wee bit of blue for my card:
I am usually stamp things in “threes”, but the As You See It sketch this week had four panels:
I stamped the little critters from Every Little Bit (retired SU) in Stazon black and colored them in with reinkers and an aquapainter. I punched them out with a 1” square punch, then mounted them on So Saffron squares that were diecut with a Nestability die. My top panel is from the Moonlight DSP stack. I added some washi tape, an embossed button and some twine in Soft Sky:
I also embossed the lower portion with the cross stitch embossing folder from the retired Needlepoint set, and I couldn’t resist adding another button on the inside, along with the sentiments from Something to Say, stamped in Smoky Slate:
Since my sister is here to attend the shower as well, I stamped another card for her, a little different feel to this one; it uses the Pals Paper Arts sketch from this week:
and here’s the sketch:
This uses the SAB DSP Best Year Ever; retired sets Nursery Necessities and Itty Bitty Bitties and Teeny Tiny Wishes. Ink colors used were Hello Honey, Calypso Coral and Soft Suede. Thanks for visiting today!
Cassidy got some little Sofia post-it notes, so decided she was going use them to make “invitations” to a party! Here is she, writing her guests’ names:
And consulting Grampy on how to spell his name!!! I guess he’s a guest too!

Merry Monday 146
Just a quick card today; I am under the weather again, I don’t even feel like stamping, can you believe it? I FORCED myself to make a Christmas card for the Merry Monday challenge, which is to use a Santa! I love Santas!
I went the lazy way out; I knew I had some vintage MME Lost & Found Christmas papers that had a Santa…..one piece left! Here we go:
I cut out the swirly portion from the same piece of paper and adhered it to the top left corner, then stamped a few extra words from My Favorite Thing’s Seasonal Sentiments in Early Espresso, and some snowflakes in Encore Gold:
Some shabby ribbon, burlap trim and glimmer country stars finished it off! Another one for my stash!
I am always touched when I get comments and questions about Cassidy, and some people even send her little cards and gifts, which she ADORES! She loves to get mail! My sweet friend Kim sent her a package, which arrived yesterday:
The inside packaging was almost too pretty to open!
But she got it open, and inside was an adorable little doll’s backpack! She just happened to have a doll on which to put it:
(The backpack is much more attractive than this poor doll!!!) And this was her reaction to the card inside:
It made both of us smile! Just check out this sparkly creation! How fun! Thanks, Kim!
