Hello Peeps

Happy Saturday!  I have a couple more cards today; this one is another CAS one, using the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch, way back from its very onset:

As I was laying in bed yesterday morning, this little set, Basket Bunch, popped into my mind and I thought how cute it would be in this layout!  So here we go:

All the peeps and bunny were stamped in Stazon, colored with Blends, and mounted on a small stitched circle die from Stitched Labels:

I pulled out a couple more oldies for the inside:

Jingle Belles has a Fa-La-La challenge, which is to use music on your card, and I have had some of this musical DSP for a long time, and never knew quite how to use it:

I mounted it on a cardstock of Crumb Cake after sponging the edges, then added a wide organdy ribbon, a sentiment from O Holy Night (Papertrey), stamped on Very Vanilla, and I added some glimmer paper greenery:

A good trick for diecutting glimmer paper using intricate dies is to peel the backing off the back of the glimmer paper.  I also use a Precision Base Plate....the combination of those two really make the paper pop out easily!  This uses the sketch from Inspire Create:
Thanks for popping in today!!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players sketch, too!

A little virtual karate:

Master Fisher is doing his best to make sure his students don't lose their skills!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Hello, peeps!  The week is winding down and that means it's time for Laurel's Inspired By challenge!  My teamie Michele will love this, with its gray background!!!

I used some Basic Gray cardstock, embossed with the Subtle embossing folder to start out my project:

I added a Papertrey wreath, stamped in Chocolate Chip and Granny Apple Green, then added some fun elements from the challenge photo:  hearts, birds, flowers and greenery:

I added a little sentiment from Close to My Heart, stamped in gray on some Granny Apple Green gingham, and a little scrap of woodgrain paper:

I used the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches for this week:

This was so fun to put together....now, how will you be inspired?  Colors?  Elements?  Can't wait to see!  Share it at the Inspired By blog!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS Roses

Happy Monday peeps!  I didn't do much stamping yesterday, so my post today is late!  I struggled with making a CAS card today, but finally succeeded, using the following challenges:  CAS(E) This Sketch, Seize the Birthday and the Global Design Project!

My friend Martha gave me this Papertrey set, Splits: With Love, a long time ago and this is the first time I inked it up!  So here we go:

I stamped the roses in Blueberry Bushel using my Stamparatus, then cleaned the stamp, leaving it on the window, and reinked it with Versamark.  I then heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder.  That kept my outline nice and neat for my loose watercoloring!  I also stamped some leaves and little speckles, all from the same set, around the flowers.  The sentiment is from Botanical Bliss:

It all went on a Crushed Curry card base, and it really was a simple card to make, once I figured out what to do!!!  Thanks for popping in today!

The weather was definitely not February-like yesterday (and today!) so the fam took the pups for a walk:

While they were walking, an Amish horse and buggy drove by, and Dana said that Ginger whined and barked like she never did before....not sure whether she was ready to run to investigate, or to run the other way, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TCC128 Be My Valentine

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Time for another Card Concept challenge!  Here's our prompt for this week:

I chose to go "Clean and Layered" for today's Valentine card; I used the colors in the pillows to create a little panel full of hearts....check it out:

I used an older Papertrey die to diecut each circle and corresponding heart to fill it, then mounted them on a Whisper White panel that was cut with the new Stitched So Sweetly die:

At the bottom of the panel, I stamped a sentiment from PTI's Tiny Treats Valentine set, then mounted it all on a card base that was embossed with the Large Polka Dot EF!  Easy peasy!  Again, the style of my card is Clean and Layered!  And because it's CAS, I am also entering this in CASology's challenge this week as well:

Be sure to check out what the DT created at The Card Concept blog--it's always fun to see how the photo is translated into different styles!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And here are a couple of my "sweethearts"!

IB105 Winter Hues

Happy day after New Year's, everyone!  I spent New Year's day sneezing and blowing my nose...a lovely cold/sinus infection to ring in the new year!  I did manage to get all my Christmas decorations down while watching the Mummer's Parade, a Philadelphia tradition!  But on to my card for today!  Laurel's got a pretty Inspired By challenge for us..definitely a wintry one!  Here's my take on it:

And here is her photo:

No photo description available.

I received this beautiful card from my friend Elizabeth Stewart, and I loved it so much (trying to find that stamp, too!) that I decided to use the sketch for my own card:

The main panel uses a pair of skates diecut from Impression Obsession; I used a black marker for the heels and a silver Zig Painty Pen for the blades.  I mounted it on a lace-print panel which was mounted on a Brushed Silver mat, and I added some shabby seam binding, dyed with gray ink, from my stash:

I heat-embossed a birthday sentiment from Papertrey in Silver, then added a little Tim Holtz Ideology Seasonal sticker and some big silver sequins:

It was all mounted on a white woodgrain piece of DSP, and I heat-embossed a new sentiment from So Sentimental on the inside:

And since I need several January birthday cards, this one is already in the mail!  I hope you can find some inspiration from our prompt this week...be sure to stop by Inspired By and share your creation with us!  Thanks for popping in today!

Mommy and Wayne let Cassidy stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve!  She looks much more chipper than I did!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB103 Painted Pinecones

Hi stampers!  Another Thursday, and another lovely Inspired By challenge from Laurel!  How about blue pinecones and lots of foil and glitter?

And here is her pretty photo prompt:

These are gorgeous!  My first attempt at creating glittery blue and white pine cones with my dies was an epic fail!  So I remembered that I had a pretty pine cone in last year's SAB set, Painted Seasons!  I went to work with my Stamparatus and some Blueberry Bushel ink and stamped it a few times on some Whisper White cardstock:

I stamped the same Papertrey Psalm sentiment from yesterday's card on the front, but it looked a little plain, so I added some Silver Glimmer paper and Blueberry Bushel Foil mats!  That kicked it up a notch!  I also added a silver ribbon and some silver Itty Bitty Background stamping!

A little trick for saving those precious pieces of specialty cardstock is to cut the center out of your mat, so you only have a "frame", and that way you still have a smaller piece to use on another project!  The foil layer was diecut with a Lacy Scallop Frame Die by Reverse Confetti, just to give it a little added dimension.  And the inside, which was Smoky Slate:

I hope you'll find some "blue" inspiration from our challenge this week, and be sure to share it with us over at Inspired By!  Can't wait to see what you create! And thank you so much for stopping by today!

Last week, Cassidy's karate teacher, Master Fisher, used her as a model to show how to get out of a neck hold!!  Yikes!

They do "sparring" on Fridays...which I do not like watching....but it wears them out for sure!  The ride home:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CKC26 Joyful Bits and Pieces

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Christmas is only a week away and  I am still making Christmas cards; I went to lunch yesterday with my Community Bible Study teacher and she appreciates my cards, so I wanted to make a special one for her!  I literally had these pieces laying around my desk, unused from another project, and I liked how they looked together, so voila!  The Christmas Kickstart Challenge is featuring Last Minute Madness, so here is my last-minute card:

The print papers are from Kaiser Craft's Wonderland line, mounted on a Naturals White card; the kraft paper is from Close to My Heart.  I cannot remember what set the "joy" came from (I'll work on finding that!), but it was heat-embossing with white embossing powder and diecut with a Stitched Shapes die.  The snowflake is from Taylored Expressions, an oldie, and after diecutting it, I coated it with Wink of Stella and added a SU gold metallic pearl....it was really, really pretty IRL!

On the inside, I added another strip of leftover blue DSP, added a strip of star washi tape and stamped my sentiment verse in Lost Lagoon ink; the sentiment is from Papertrey's Psalm of the Year October.  Very pretty font, I just love this!  And my leader loved it too!

Cassidy was thrilled to have her little cousins visit on Sunday; she immediately went into hairdresser mode; Jameson actually sat still on the floor, let her put a towel around him and proceeded to work on his hair:

But the true charmer of the evening was Sawyer:

When his mama brought out the camera, he said "Cheeeeeeeeeeese!"  Adorable!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
