AYSI380 Sunflower Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps! Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge and it's a sketch--love sketches!

I love the new Sunflower Fields DSP, so I pulled out a couple of the patterns and went to work:

I mounted my 1 7/8" squares on a piece of Old Olive cardstock, added the horizontal piece, then created a little birthday tag with the retired Tailor Made Tag dies and stamped it with a sentiment and flower from Cutest Crew:

I added some speckles from You Are Remarkable; the inside sentiment is also from that set:

This is such a great sketch....it's a good one for using up some scraps, or maybe just do a monochromatic one with different embossing folders!  I hope you'll play with us! Share your creation with us at As You See It!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS749 Sweet Things

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Feels like a Friday to me for some reason, LOL! I got some new goodies yesterday from the upcoming catalog and just had to play with them!  It's a bundle called Box of Joy, and there are stamps and dies to create a little goodie box and little diecuts with which to embellish them! SO cute!  I did make a box, I'll share that later, but I used the candy dies to make a card with the FMS sketch:

So here we go:

I diecut some strips from Hydrangea Hue DSP and layered them on the front of my card, which was embossed with a Cross Stitch die from Taylored Expressions.  Then I diecut the candies from Lemon Lolly, Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party cardstocks, and gave them some dazzle with Wink of Stella:

Both the outside and inside sentiments are from a retired set called Suite Sentiments, and I did add a birthday sentiment from Cutest Crew too:

I have some other ideas for this sketch, it's a fun one!

Over the weekend, Dana & I attended a birthday tea party for the pianist at our church:

We were able to really surprise her, have a lovely tea, and then we sang hymns!  Her family is all musically inclined, so there was a lot of harmony and it all sounded heavenly!  It was a blessing and the waitresses said some of the other customers thought the music was being broadcast on their sound system, LOL!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Pumpkin Friends

Happy Thursday, peeps! I am off to a late start today! It's hot and sticky and pretty miserable here in SE PA, so I felt I needed a fall card to help me cool off! My sweet friend Renita sent me a beautiful birthday card and when I asked her about the background paper, she said it was a NAPKIN!

I have heard of the napkin technique, but never tried it! And don't you know, she sent me a whole supply of GORGEOUS napkins with which to play!!  Thanks, Renita!  So I looked up the technique on line (I used Lou Collins' method) but it looked as if there were lots of tutorials out there!  So here we go:

Can you believe that's a napkin?  I used a piece of scrap cardstock and brushed on ModPodge, then adhered the napkin.  Lou gives some tips on her video, so I recommend watching it first.  But honestly, it took five minutes to create the page.  You do need to let it dry, so I waited until this morning to make my card.   The sentiment, stamped on some Wood Grain Wonders DSP, is from the retired Pretty Pumpkins set.  I added some diecut leaves and swirls from the two-toned Peaceful Pines cardstock, and a few sequins for fun:

My card base is Timid Tiger; I stamped birthday sentiments from Cutest Crew in Timid Tiger and Early Espresso:

And since it is a birthday card, I am entering it at the Krafty Chicks birthday challenge!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC685 The Best Day

Happy Monday, all! Hope you had a nice weekend! It was lovely here in PA!  The sketch today from Atlantic Hearts is a lovely one, as usual!

It features flowers but I went in a different direction:

I stamped, colored and cut the pups from Cutest Crew out, then mounted them on a panel embossed with the Eyelet Blooms dies.  I heat-embossed a sentiment from the same set on a piece of Hydranga Hue cardstock and added a matching ribbon and a couple of pearls:

It all went on a piece of Hydrangea Hue polka dot paper from the In Color Painted Patterns DSP.  Cute and simple!

I hope you'll play with our sketch this week---as you can see, you don't need to use flowers! I can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at Atlantic Hearts!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

In(k)spire Me 590 Take Care

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The sketch at In(k)spire Me had lots of fun layers, and after doing several CAS cards lately, I thought it would be fun to do some layers!  Here's the prompt (I only used the sketch):

I am not a huge yellow fan, but the new In Color Golden Glow has a nice warm feel to it, so I decided to do a monochromatic card with it.  My friend is in the hospital with pneumonia, so I thought I'd send this to her.  Does she like cats?  I have no idea, but hopefully she'll be enamored of these little kitties:

I used DSPs from Painted Patterns and Bloom Boutique for my background.  The larger banner is Golden Glow, stamped with some "leaves" from the Aspen Grove set.  The sentiment is from Scalloped Wishes, and the kitties are from the Cutest Crew dies.  There is a layer of Sunset Shimmer Vellum on the circle that the kitties are on; it's a very pretty iridescent and although you probably can't see the shimmer in the photo, it adds a nice touch:

It was fun to mix and match these patterns! And I was tempted to color in the kitties, but I kind of like them "vanilla"!!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS731 To A Sweet Friend

Happy Saturday, peeps! Hope you're having a good weekend so far! It is finally sunny here in SE PA, but the wind still thinks it's boss!  I have a fun little card today using Donna's sketch from FMS:

I kept thinking of all the little puppies in the Cutest Crew set, so I pulled out some retired Playful Pets DSP and went to work:

I stamped, colored and diecut the puppies, then mounted them on pieces of the DSP that were diecut with the retired Stitched Rectangle dies and matted with Real Red.  The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Whittle Sayings:

The inside sentiment is from Cutest Crew:

Enjoy the rest of your day and be blessed!  Thanks for visiting!

PP780 A Theme Challenge

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Happy Easter!  I am the hostess at the Paper Players today and we have a seasonal theme:  Spring Showers!

I took my cue from that cute pair of rain boots at the top center since I have a fun little die that matches perfectly!  Here we go:

My papers are from Echo Park's Bee Happy (love those papers); the boots die is from Impression Obsession, and the flowers are from SU's Pierced Blooms:

The sentiment is from Cutest Crew, which is my new most-favorite stamp, LOL!  I also used the sketch from Hand-Stamped Sentiments for my layout, although I realized AFTER I made my card that the sentiment is in the wrong place!  Ooops!
And since the Inspired By challenge this week is  "Boots", I am entering it there as well!

There aren't many "showers" on this card but it's certainly spring-y!  I hope you'll play along with our theme challenge this week at the Paper Players--lots of inspiration from which to choose!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Just a Little Hello

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Wow, the sun is shining here in SE PA and it's actually warming up!  Spring may actually be showing her face!   I finally broke down and got the Cutest Crew bundle after seeing so many adorable things made with it, so I sat down and played a bit yesterday!  No challenges, just some fun stamping! Here we go:

I stamped and diecut the row of kittens, then colored them with some Blends and markers.  They were mounted on a panel of Nests of Winter DSP, and I added a wee little strip of orange DSP from Floral Charm.  I stamped a row of butterflies in Peach Pie ink up the left side of my white card, then added my sentiment:

It's quite satisfying to color in these little sweeties!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
