Happy Thursday, peeps! The weekend is almost here! I loved the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week! Check it out:
In my self-imposed challenge to use some sets that haven’t seen the light of day lately, I dusted off Papaya Collage and pulled out the bird. Edited to add: this bird is from Betsy' Blossoms, NOT Papaya Collage!!! I am also challenged by this particular pattern from the Fresh Prints collection, most of which I LOVE, but this one is just a little out of my comfort zone. So I paired them up and came up with this:
It’s all pretty straightforward; I did add an embossed panel just so I could anchor my ribbons behind it, but everything else is plain and simple! I also popped up the wing as well as the “hi” with some dimensionals:
It’s pretty bright….but overall, I like it!
The theme was Spring Thank You; I love this card, but I really didn’t think the black made it very springy, so I put it aside. But I thought I would share it anyway! And Baja Breeze is retired, sadly….it’s still one of my favorite blues!
Cassidy “rediscovered” her homemade play-doh, and she literally played with this for about two hours…..I haven’t had her be so focused on one plaything ever!!! She informed us she was making Christmas cookies, and she made a whole plateful!
Thanks for visiting today!

Wonderful card with that pretty little red bird LeAnne, gave me a smile this morning! Glad you posted your PP card too. I think it's soft and delicate, perfect for spring!
Love this, LeAnne! I haven't used that sheet of dsp either as I don't know what to do with it. But it's perfect for this sketch! And Baja Breeze...aahhh...I miss it!
Love how this turned out! I haven't used that print either.....never used it in the other colors from last year either.....but you made it work! I love it tipped a bit on this card and with the red bird! You have a great eye! I hate the smell of Play Do but I might have to get over it if it is so entertaining :)
What a gorgeous Thank You card LeAnne. I love the black and blue together. Baja Breeze is one of my favourites too;) The floral DP you created is so pretty. That paper in your first card would be a big challenge for me too, but I think you pulled it off beautifully here.
Cassidy's attention span is lengthening. That looks like an interesting plate of Christmas cookies;) I love the concentration on her face. Her eyes are so expressive.
The patterned paper and the bird stamp paired so well together it was like they were made for each other. That's a kicky card for sure. The other one is lovely too and it does make me think of spring, like a cool spring morning. Both are nice and inspire me to stamp!
Oh my, LeAnne. Those cards are both so gorgeous. I'm lovin' that DSP that I somehow completely missed. That particular pattern works really well with the sketch this week. Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
