Hand-Penned in Pink

Happy Friday, peeps!  I am running a wee bit late today; we had a busy day yesterday and I was just too exhausted to make up my post!  Anyway, I have a very simple card today, it's not even fulfilling any challenge, just something I put together for a special friend's birthday!  It uses one of my favorite sets from the current catalog, Hand-Penned Petals, along with the coordinating DSP.  It's monochromatic, so that makes it even easier and simpler:

I stamped the floral image in Blushing Bride and mounted it with dimensionals on a panel diecut with the Scalloped Contour dies.  The sentiment is from Best Year.  Then it went on another panel, this time the Hand-Penned DSP, diecut with another die from the same die set.  I added some pearls for embellishment!  Simple and easy!

I love how the sentiment fit perfectly in the space at the bottom!  Thanks for visiting today!

Yesterday, we took Cassidy on a canoe trip down the Brandywine Creek.  I must say, it was a delightful trip and after a slow start (we got there a wee bit early and had to WAIT....boring in the heat!) we all really enjoyed ourselves.  I didn't get any pictures of us actually on the creek, as I was afraid my phone would get wet, but the water was cold and refreshing, we saw turtles and green herons, and we stopped a couple times along the way to actually go swimming!  The current was strong enough that we could float along on our back, and still return to our canoe.  We started at Northbrook Canoe, where we boarded a bus that followed the truck that hauled our canoes upstream.  They put them in the water for us and we canoed back down and got back out at Northbrook.  The facility been there for quite a while and definitely has a vintage feel to it!

It is right next to an old train line:

And after our long journey, where Cassidy did an awesome job of paddling, we went to Hood's Barbecue for lunch.  It's a very cool little restaurant, recently updated, and my nephew Timmy did all the remodeling and construction work.  The wood is all from the local Chester County area, except for the pig trough, which I believe came from the next county over.  It's made into a huge "chandelier":

We indulged her with a vanilla milkshake to go along with her barbecue:

And the sign of a truly good day spent having fun:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Very sweet card …love the soft pink…and sentiment. Great pics of your trip…Cassidy is growing up so fast. Have lost track of her age…have love watching her grow into such a lovely young girl. You are so blessed to have this special relationship with your granddaughter,. I think she probably feels like your daughter given she was with you for so long. Huge blessings LeAnne
