AHSC507 Hats Off

Hey there, everyone!  I am gearing up to make some masculine birthday cards...my supply is low!  Today's card features the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week:

I admit to using a wee bit of artistic license here; I had a specific die in mind to use and it was a little bigger than I thought, which made me not have much room for the three little embellishments; I also had to flip the sketch so my diecut would be facing the center of the card!  Enough already, here it is:

(Another confession; the grammar police in me just gets all worked up when I see the word "that" after a personal pronoun....to me, the sentiment should say "To the guy WHO wears many hats"....but I just have to swallow my irritation and wonder why I am the only one bothered by it!!!)  Anyway, I was sad that SU retired this Hats Off set and die so quickly...it's perfect for masculine cards and the end result is so fun and realistic!  I used some retired Boughs of Holly DSP for the mat, and Crumb Cake cardstock for the hat.  Very Vanilla and Evening Evergreen were used for the main panel; I colored in the mountains with a Light Crumb Cake blend, although it's hard to see here.  I added a few Resin Stars for embellishment, and a simple birthday sentiment on the inside!

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

Dana knows that I don't like anything edible that has artificial blue coloring - and even she didn't find this palatable AT ALL:

BLUE maple syrup?...yuck!

That hat is the BEST, LeAnne! You just keep using it because it couldn't be more perfect - okay maybe if they'd added a 'backwards' facing hat too? The kraft looks great and the placement does too!
Yuck to blue syrup indeed!

Great card, LeAnne! I also need to work on some masculine cards. Seems I'm always running low ....probably because I love making girly cards. haha! I'm with you on the grammar thing. SU! makes that exact mistake fairly often. Womp, womp!

This card rocks, LeAnne! I agree with you that SU retired this bundle much too quick! It's the perfect masculine set and works great atleast for my guys...they both wear hats! Love the colors and design of this! And a big NO to blue artificial maple syrup! YUK!

WOW! I totally agree with your comment about the sentiment. The use of that instead of who completely ruins the set for me. I have noticed this on previous sets and I just can't purchase something that is so wrong.
I like the layout of your card. It really makes the hat stand out

I sure wish that bundle was still around. I didn't get it and it does have perfect sentiments to go with that great hat.
Blue Maple Syrup! NO way! What will they do next to try to sell stuff to us!

I'm with you on the grammar...drives me totally NUTS!!!
Come on, Stampin Up! You should know better!
Love, love your card! I have the bundle & have used it at least twice.
I really love that your hat looks like a fabric. Very cool!
I wouldn't think the blue maple syrup would even appeal to kids.

What a GREAT masculine card! I love the hat die to bits, it makes me think of my dad. That syrup could give you a cavity just looking at it - YUCK!!!

So funny LeAnne I thought the very same thing about that sentiment and didn’t buy that set!! (I do admit the hat is fun, tho). Grammar police, indeed!! Maybe SU needs to employ a few of us to review their sentiments before going to press!
