AYSI279 Trick or Treat

Hey, peeps, happy Friday!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's going to knock your socks off!  Check it out:

Well, when I saw those colors and the cool background in the inspiration photo, my mind immediately went to the little Halloween silhouette images in the new Scary Cute stamp set.  Now, if I was to re-do this card, I probably would have used the larger silhouetted children instead of these three little wee ones, but I had already put some time into this one, so I just went with it!  Here we go:

I started with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock because I wanted to use my Blending Brushes and ink really blends nicely on that cardstock.  I blended all the colors just like the photo, then stamped my treaters in Stazon Black ink.  The reason for my initial dissatisfaction is that they look like they are floating in midair instead of traipsing around the neighborhood!  PLUS, I made a big smudge on my original stamping of the sentiment, so I ended up stamping it again on a piece of Petal Pink cardstock, diecutting it out and blending it a bit too.

(I have a confession:  the sentiment actually has two lines, and I cut it in half to make it work for my card!  It's easy to fit back together on a block if I want to use both lines, but I just wanted a single one here!)  The sky looked so plain; I wanted to add some stars and a moon but didn't know what would work on the already-inked surface, and I remembered I just got this die called Labels Aglow and it has this amazing edge die which just happened to fit my panel perfectly!  After diecutting it, I added some Silver Glimmer paper behind it and diecut a moon to pop on the front!  I added a Basic Black mat and it all went on a Basic White card:

Defnitely adds some interest and sparkle!  I hope you'll find something fun to create with this interesting color palette!  It's good to be challenged, and I definitely was with these colors, but I am happy with the outcome!  So come play with us at As You See It!

LeAnne, you have NAILED IT! You couldn't have found a more darling silhouette if you tried - and maybe they are floating on that sugar rush from all their treats? Die cutting that edge was just the perfect trick for adding these sparkly stars and moon!
I'm going back for another look - SO CUTE!!
