Hi stamping friends! Happy Sunday and time for a new Paper Players challenge where the sweet Claire is our hostess! She has a timely theme for us today:
I pulled out a set from the Holiday Mini catalog from 2006 for my card today! Talk about an oldie but goodie! This style of line-art drawing was what drew me to SU in the first place! So fun to stamp in Stazon, then use inks to watercolor in! Here we go:
I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade, Cajun Craze and Cinnamon Cider to color in my images:
Then mounted it on a piece of Old Olive plaid DSP. I stamped a sentiment from the same set in Mossy Meadow, and since I didn't get it quite centered, added a little leaf from the retired Itty Bitties set to make it look a little bit more centered!
Finally, I stamped the inside sentiment also in Mossy Meadow and left enough room for a couple more leaves at the bottom to tie it all together! Square stitched dies were from Lil'Inker! Everything went on a pretty Mossy Meadow card base!
I am also entering this at Double D Challenges, where they have a thankful mood board, and at Make the Cards, where they also want "thankful"!
I know you'll have lots of ideas to share with us, so I hope you'll stop by the Paper Players blog, see what the DT created, then post yours as well! Can't wait to see it!
We had Cassidy overnight and after running a bunch of errands, she wanted to make homemade ravioli! She has a monthly baking/cooking subscription from a company called Kiwi, and they send utensils and directions for a variety of goodies! This month's was ravioli, lasagne and marinara sauce. Believe it or not, I have never made ravioli, so I was intrigued. We gathered the ingredients together and went to work! She put the flour in a baking dish and made a well:
Added the eggs and mixed it all together. She was not too keen on the mixing part...she wanted to use her hands but the dough was pretty sticky before it came together. Then we took turns kneading it for fifteen minutes:
After kneading and resting, she rolled it out and laid the first layer on the ravioli form:
We made the ricotta filling and filled them up; by trial and error we realized we had them a little too full, but after adding the top layer and pressing them together, these are the final product!
I was very impressed with her skill, even though she is a little lax on the tidying up! We boiled them and added our own spaghetti sauce. She loved them! I did not realize that the Italian seasoning I used in the filling has lots of sage in it, of which I am NOT fond, so I wasn't crazy about them. They were a little thicker than I thought they would be, since she rolled the dough to what I thought was the perfect thickness! But she's going to leave the ravioli form with me and I might try to make them again, maybe with a different dough recipe! It was definitely labor-intensive but satisfying to see those little doughy pillows pop out! Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

LeAnne, I am thankful for every card you post! these bright little pumpkins, shiny apple, and leaves are sure cute!
Cassidy is going to be a wonderful cook one day just for all the adventures you allow her to have in your kitchen. What a great club to belong to! I love making ravioli but you'd never guess what I use for the pasta... wonton wrappers! So light and delicious! I'm intrigued by that form though - have fun!

This stamp set certainly is a "goodie", LeAnne! I always love seeing it and your watercoloring is awesome! Cassidy is growing into a fantastic cook! A brave one too to do ravioli!
That's a beautiful card. I have that stamp too! I must pull it out and make a card with it. Thx for the inspiration!
Before I get to your card, I have to tell you how impressed I am with Cassidy's cooking skills and her interest in learning! I have never made ravioli! She is a lovely young lady and i know it was wonderful to spend time with her!

I love LOVE this stamp and your card! This style is so appealing to me. I should be looking at SU more often. Now, I have to say that I'm super impressed with Cassidy's interest in the kitchen. It does my heart good to see this in a young person. How fun it must be for her. I've never made ravioli or any kind of pasta noodles from scratch. Plenty of pasta dishes. I'm not crazy about sage either. It sorta tastes like mold to me. I do enjoy cooking and eating. I especially love trying new recipes. But I digress... I want to tell you I'm happy to see your card in our Double D challenge. Thanks for sharing with us!
So cute, LeAnne! I need to check out the Kiwi thing, Sweet P loves to cook. Looks like Cassidy did a great job!
What a wonderful "oldie but goodie" stamp, LeAnne! It makes such an adorable card. Your coloring is amazing, too. The pumpkins look great with the Old Olive plaid paper. Ravioli making looks like fun! Have an amazing week!
Love this beauty, LeAnne! Love the pretty Fall colors you colored the image with and the pretty paper! I use to have this set but sold it before we moved to Missouri. I could kick myself in the pants for getting rid of it. "An oldie but a goodie" for sure!!! WOW, making homemade ravioli....that is something I don't think I would ever try but Miss Cassidy did an awesome job! Well done!
LOVE the look of this card. It's kind of like a shadow box with lots of cute things inside. Great coloring and fabulous background. Lots of wonderful work here, and great take on the challenge. Thanks so much for playing along with us over at Double D, hope to see you back again soon!

Beautiful Thanksgiving card, LeAnne! I love that plaid pattern, I'm so happy we have it in every single color :) It makes a great backdrop for your large focal point.
As soon as I saw this oldie but fabulous stamp I've been hoping it's here among my favorites that I've kept.I love the bright colors and wonderful shading you added to those fruits and leaves. Backed with the plaid it's even more gorgeous!
I'm with you, sage has a way of over-taking other flavors. Kudos to Cassidy and you for your cooking endeavors!
