Hi stampers! It's Sunday and that means a new Paper Players challenge! Claire is our hostess this week for our monthly Clean and Simple challenge:
Fun stuff! I admit that my card is not as clean and simple as I usually create, but I had a lot of fun playing with some older papers and stamps! Check it out:
I got this scary-looking scarecrow stamp a few years ago and I thought he would work well with the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch challenge, although my tag is a wee bit bigger than the sample:
I began by stamping my scary guy on some white cardstock in Stazon black ink and before using the tag die to cut him out, I cut out the crow so it would extend beyond the tag. After that, I stamped the whole tag with a Linen background stamp and used a blending brush on it to give it an aged look! I colored him in with some reinkers and a watercolor brush and mounted him on a Very Vanilla card base:
The printed paper is some really old Basic Grey Max & Whiskers paper and the little sentiment stickers are from Tim Holtz. I fussy-cut a little flower from the same paper to use as an embellishment! I am pretty sure the look on this scarecrow's face would definitely scare somebody!!
Now, I hope you'll play along with our Clean and Simple challenge....it's perfect for all your fall stamping! Share your creation with us at the Paper Players blog and be sure to check out what the other designers created as well! See you there! Thanks so much for popping in today!
Cassidy "helped" Grampy wash his truck recently! Mostly she just sprayed him!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

LeAnne he is a really handsome scarecrow! You were very clever with your die cutting here! Autumn fun indeed!
Now. If I'd known John and Cassidy were having a car wash, we would have driven over! lol!

LeAnne this is great….I really thought that tag was linen….kept trying to find it. Need to read more carefully..Well done!
Happy Sunday!
What a great scarecrow! I love the linen look too!
LeAnne, perfect fall card with the pretty papers and the scarecrow! Have a great week!
Such a great card! Love what you've done with the scarecrow image!
LeAnne, your scary scarecrow and crow are perfect for my CAS challenge! I love the linen stamped tag and the pretty patterned paper. This sketch was perfect to showcase your little guy! The sentiment is perfect, too! Thank you for making my challenge shine this week, My Friend!
Wow, LeAnne! This is an amazing scarecrow image. I love the colors you used, and how the crow extends off the edge of the tag. The linen background stamp adds the illusion of so much texture. What an awesome card! Have a wonderful week!
What a cute autumn card! You have a fun paper collection, Leanne!
What a pretty autumn image! Thanks for joining us at CC&S!
Between the linen tag, the scarecrow and his patched outfit, and the Basic Grey paper, your card has a great "homespun" vibe that feels just right for autumn! Thanks for sharing your artwork with us at CC&S!
What a fun fall card...love that scarecrow!!!
I love this fun scarecrow LeAnne and the patterned papers you paired him with. Perfect for our CAS Colours and Sketches layout too!
Cute card, LeAnne! I think your scarecrow is scarier than mine :) Love how you achieved the linen look on the tag element, perfect background for your scarecrow!
Im not sure who is having the most fun - the scarecrow or Cassidy and Gramps :-) Such a cute card, LeAnne - I love the vintage feel of the paper and image with the CAS layout!
hugs

What a gorgeous card, LeAnne! I don't think that little guy is scary at all. You really brought him to life with the fun colors and patterns.
