FMS545 Ruthie's Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hot enough for you?  Phew!  Scary stuff out there, be sure to stay cool!  I have a quick birthday card for our retired pastor's wife and it uses the FMS sketch:

It's no secret that I like trios of things, so this sketch jumped out at me right away!  I decided to give my SU papers a break and pulled out some Carta Bella papers called Home Again, because Ruthie loves gardening and flowers:

The panels were diecut with Stitched Rectangle dies, and after heat-embossing the sentiment from Happiness Abounds, it was diecut with a Stylish Shapes banner die.  I added some Pierced Blooms flowers and leaves and mounted it on a Basic White panel embossed with the retired Ornate Flower embossing folder.

I added another sentiment on the inside and it's all ready to hand-deliver to her on Sunday!  Thanks for visiting today!

Wayne got to do one of his favorite things while in Georgia:

Yikes, I have no idea what that is....scary looking tail, though!

They also saw some local wildlife....thanks, but no thanks!

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC482 Trick or Treat Again

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I just can't stop playing with this fun Scary Cute set!  It works really well with the black and gold starry paper from Lights Aglow!  Here we go:

I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

After stamping and diecutting my little fairy, I also diecut the haunted house from the matching die set in Basic Black glimmer paper, then added some gold foil accents:

The stars and die for the sentiment are both from the Cracker Treat Box dies....little gem dies included  in there that are great for other crafty pursuits besides a treat box!

I am going to toss this in the ring over at Two Old Bats Halloween challenge as well!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB187 Hope

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for a new Retro Rubber challenge, where we use stamps that are at least a year old or older---give those stamps some love!  Today we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge!  I am sure you'll be able to find something on the grid to inspire you!  Here it is:

Of course I chose the top row across of circles, birds and diecut!  The problem was what bird to choose!  I remembered this pretty CTMH paper called Skylark that I 've had for a couple of years, so I pulled it out and that was the base for my inspiration:

The quote is from a SU set called Friend to Friend (2004), and it was stamped on Very Vanilla in Lost Lagoon ink, then diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies and backed with a retired doily and another circle of Crumb Cake.  I stamped a few "stitched" around the outside edge with the Stitchery stamp (2021) and distressed the edges.  I added a little bird diecut and some organdy flowers that I've been hoarding for several years as well, LOL!  And you may be able to see a tiny little bit of the Young Vermillion stamp (2011) that I stamped in Soft Seafoam right up at the very top right hand corner of the DSP. All the rest of the images are part of the DSP itself.

I stamped the Vermillion again on the inside of my card with Versamark ink, and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment (also from Friend to Friend) on the inside.

I haven't made a vintage-style card for a long time, so I was thrilled to be able to put some of these elements together to create one!  I hope you'll play with us at Retro Rubber this week too!  Remember to check out the date of those older stamps (Splitcoaststampers has galleries where you can find any SU set and its age) and tell us the approximate age!  See you there!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Thinking of You

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend! I am squeaking in this card for the Fusion challenge (just the sketch) as well as the colors from Just Us Girls:

I pulled out some papers in Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, and Gold Foil,  and the little stamp set from the SU kit called A Little Smile  and went to work:

A real simple card; I heat-embossed the sentiment in gold, then fussy-cut the sea elements after stamping them in Smoky Slate, Petal Pink and Crumb Cake:

I added a few little "sandy"  speckles for fun!  Thanks for popping in today!

Speaking of sand:

The beach might have been a little chilly yesterday:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP600 Kids Kards

Happy Sunday, stampers!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge...it's our 600th!  Wowza!  I am honored to have been a part of this fun challenge from the very beginning!  Our challenge this week is from the amazing Ann, and she has a fun clean and simple challenge for us:

Remember, "clean and simple" means limited supplies, lots of clean space, simple and uncluttered! Sometimes we forget that!  So here is my birthday card using some fun products from the Charming Sentiments bundle:

Besides have dies for all the sentiments in this fun set, there are candle and flame dies, heart dies, star dies, a splash die and a bow die!  What a haul!  I diecut seven candles from various cardstock scraps, added some Mango Melody flames and glued them on a panel of Basic White that was embossed with a jumbo polka dot EF:

I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point and added this one to the inside:

Lots of white space for the CAS portion but still packs a fun punch with all the candles!  Be sure to check out what the design team has created at the Paper Players blog, then share your CAS "Kids Kards" with us!  Thanks for visiting today!

Dana, Cassidy and Wayne met up with Dana's half-brother and his wife on Saturday for breakfast.  Kevin was almost a teenager when Dana was born and did not get to spend any time with her while she was growing up.  But blessedly, they reconnected later on and have been able to see each other at least once a year or so since then.  His wife Kristy is a gem and I am so happy for all of them that they were able to spend a little time together!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS544 Merry Christmas

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope you have a fun weekend planned!  I have a fun little Christmas card for you today; it uses the FMS sketch, and I am entering it at TGIF and the Krafty Chicks challenges as well, as they are looking for Christmas creations!

I pulled out some retired SU papers and stamps and a Poppy Stamps die I've had for a while but hadn't used in a long time!  So here we go:

I embossed my card front with a Darice snowflake die, cut out my and colored my sled, then added some holly, bling and a bow. The sentiment and little holly leaf from Merry Christmas to All was stamped directly on to the DSP

And I did add a new sentiment from Brightest Glow on the inside:

AYSI279 Trick or Treat

Hey, peeps, happy Friday!  Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's going to knock your socks off!  Check it out:

Well, when I saw those colors and the cool background in the inspiration photo, my mind immediately went to the little Halloween silhouette images in the new Scary Cute stamp set.  Now, if I was to re-do this card, I probably would have used the larger silhouetted children instead of these three little wee ones, but I had already put some time into this one, so I just went with it!  Here we go:

I started with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock because I wanted to use my Blending Brushes and ink really blends nicely on that cardstock.  I blended all the colors just like the photo, then stamped my treaters in Stazon Black ink.  The reason for my initial dissatisfaction is that they look like they are floating in midair instead of traipsing around the neighborhood!  PLUS, I made a big smudge on my original stamping of the sentiment, so I ended up stamping it again on a piece of Petal Pink cardstock, diecutting it out and blending it a bit too.

(I have a confession:  the sentiment actually has two lines, and I cut it in half to make it work for my card!  It's easy to fit back together on a block if I want to use both lines, but I just wanted a single one here!)  The sky looked so plain; I wanted to add some stars and a moon but didn't know what would work on the already-inked surface, and I remembered I just got this die called Labels Aglow and it has this amazing edge die which just happened to fit my panel perfectly!  After diecutting it, I added some Silver Glimmer paper behind it and diecut a moon to pop on the front!  I added a Basic Black mat and it all went on a Basic White card:

Defnitely adds some interest and sparkle!  I hope you'll find something fun to create with this interesting color palette!  It's good to be challenged, and I definitely was with these colors, but I am happy with the outcome!  So come play with us at As You See It!
