RRCB240 Tree For All Seasons

Happy Friday, peeps! Hope you have a good weekend planned! I am going to put up my Halloween decorations! My card today uses the sketch from the girls are Retro Rubber:

How fun is that?!  Gave me a chance to use up some "retro" scraps as well as use a stamp set that debuted in 2006!  That's 18 years ago!  This was one of my favorites from way back when, too!  So here we go:

The stamp set is called A Tree for All Seasons, and of course, I used the fall image.  I stamped it in Stazon black ink, then watercolored those itty-bitty teeny-tiny leaves!  My only regret is that I think I should have used white cardstock instead of Basic Beige.  Anyway, I diecut it with a Stylish Shapes dies and added a sentiment from the retired Banner Year (2020), stamped in Old Olive:

I cut 1" strips of DSP from Orchard Harvest & Come to Gather DSPs, and added a scalloped mat of More Mustard.  It's a wee bit busy with all the prints, but it was fun to put them together like a quilt!

Dana and I both had entries in the Solanco Fair this year;  I didn't take a picture of my cross stitch (it won a 2nd), but here's a picture of her winning kaleidoscope crochet blanket....she won a first in her division!

It's a wee bit hard to see as there is a heavy layer of clear plastic over it to keep the dust off!  But the whole blanket is just full of these "Rich Regal" hues! Thanks so much for popping in today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

LeAnne, I think your choice of basic beige was driven by the dsps and looks wonderful - love that little tree... let's jump into that pile of leaves!

Your little tree looks like a piece of embroidery and I think it would be a winner at the fair too. Congratulations to both you and Dana!

This card is a winner as well, LeAnne! Love the design with the scraps of DSP but the focal point is just perfect! I still have my little tree set which really could use some love! Thanks for the inspiration! Congrats on the wins at the fair! Dana's blanket is gorgeous!!! She's definitely talented like her mama! :)

What a fun card LeAnne! The colorful striped background is perfect. And this set was one of my early favorites....I made so many domino magnets and Christmas ornaments with it!! Love seeing it again!

I've been playing around with this scrap strip technique myself lately - isn't it fun! You never quite know how things will end up once you start and I like that unpredictability. Great sentiment and lovely dsp too. :-)
