AHSC588 Thankful Bee

Happy Wednesday, peeps! We have the newest Atlantic Hearts Sketch for you today! Check it out:

Because my last few days have been so hectic, I went very easy and let the paper do most of the work for my card today!  Here we go:

I friend of mine gave me this cute hand soap for my birthday:

Isn't that cute? I love bee stuff!  So this will be a thank you card for her!  I found some cute papers in  my Echo Park Bee Happy paper pad and added a sentiment from Best Family Ever, then added the bee from Choose Happy:

I had several ideas for this card, but for a quick one, this one did the trick! Love the patterns and gingham together!  I hope you'll play along with our AHSC sketch this week....check out what the DT did and share it with us as well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB236 Sparkle of the Season

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Wow, my last few days have been quite a whirlwind...my family really stepped up to the plate to celebrate my big day!  I'll share more in the coming days, along with some of the gorgeous cards I received!  First, I managed to get back into my stamping routine today with a fun little slimline card using the RetroRubber sketch challenge:

And here we go:

I've had this Papertrey die for a long time and never used it, because it is pretty large! But it works for a longer slimline card!  I diecut it from Thick Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered it to a plaid piece of DSP from SU (although I can't remember the name of it!).  I then stamped some images from Sparkle of the Season (2021) and arranged them along an embossed panel of more Very Vanilla.  I added some "berries" for fun!

An inside sentiment from the same set, stamped in Cherry Cobbler, finished it off!

I feel like I didn't get to use this set enough when it came out, so I was happy to use it again!

For the start of my birthday celebration, my brother took us out to the really fancy restaurant at Longwood Gardens, where we sat on the covered terrace and had an amazing meal!  Since my brother works at Longwood, although NOT in the restaurant, he rubs shoulders with a lot of them, so we got extra-special treatment, along with a really yummy birthday cupcake:

It was delicious! And there was a little piece of chocolate that said "Happy Birthday" on the plate with it....yummy, too!  I'll share some more later!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP700 Happy Summer Dreams

Happy Sunday, stamping friends! Wow, it's a special day---our Paper Players challenge is celebrating 700 challenges!  Not only that, but it's also MY birthday, I am the hostess, and that 700 challenge....well, that might give you a wee clue as to the birthday that I'm celebrating, LOL!  I have a sketch for you to celebrate all those occasions...check it out:

I knew right away I wanted to use Seaside Wishes for the sketch! I pulled out some of my hoarded Soft Sky paper and ink and paired it with some blue glimmer paper and Basic Beige cardstock.  Here we go:

I embossed the larger sand dollar with the matching embossing folder, then mounted it on the Basic Beige panel which was embossed with the upcoming Birch Wood EF.  I put the panel in sideways so the design was horizontal....it looked like the little rivulets in the sand at the beach!

I created a fun sentiment from the words in Choose Happy, stamping them in Pool Party ink.  I diecut them with a Nellie Snellen stitched die.  The final addition was some pretty little sequins from my stash...oh, and I did add some wink of stella for fun!

I hope you'll play along with our very special 700th challenge at the Paper Players this week!  Be sure to check out what the DT created...such fun creations...then share yours with us too!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

JAI712 Countryside Thanks

Happy Friday, peeps! So glad the weekend is upon us! And the hot weather broke, so it's refreshingly cool here in SE PA!  I made a quick card today, using some scraps from the Countryside DSP line and a sketch from Just Add Ink:

This sketch is perfect for using up some of those little pieces of DSP we can't bear to throw away!  Here we go:

So easy peasy!  I stamped a thank you from Sketched Butterflies and colored in some flowers from Country Birdhouse to embellish my card; all the strips went on a mat of Boho Blue as well.  The final embellishment was a little Blooming Pearl:

I always need thank you cards for my customers, so this one will get popped in the mail today!  Thanks for visiting today!

A few more kids' vacation pix:

LRW766 Glitter in the Sun

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have been MIA...not much mojo and every time I sit down to create something, I get interrupted!  The peppers, tomatoes and zucchini in my garden keep calling my name!  I did manage to squeak out a little step card for the Little Red Wagon challenge, and even it was a struggle for me!  But here we go:

I used some Petunia Pop cardstock, papers and ink with the Happiest Day to create it!  I just love this fun little sentiment and the cute dragonfly!  I did use some retired glimmer paper and retired dies:

I added some little "sun rays" and some gems for sparkle! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC587 - OH MY GOSH, I Used Wild Wheat!

Happy Monday, peeps! This is a quick post as it's time for Christmas Card Stamp Camp tonight! Woohoo! The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  sketch this week is a pretty one, but I really took the cheater's way out and used some delightful papers to their best advantage!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

Isn't this paper gorgeous?  It's from Not 2 Shabby, and all I did was cut a panel, leaving some of the flowers uncut on the sides, then fussy-cutting them out. And do you see it?  WILD WHEAT!  Any of my club girls know that In Color is NOT on my favorite list, but it worked so well here, matching those leaves, I had to break down and use it!  The sentiment is from Happiest Day, also stamped in Wild Wheat and it was diecut with a Nellie Snellen die with a matching mat in Riding Hood Red:

I added a little strip of the same paper on the inside and another Happiest Day sentiment:

Maybe you'll be more ambitious than I was and actually stamp some florals on the front of your card, LOL!  Either way, share it with us at the AHSC blog; the design team will post all of their on Wednesday, so you can get some great inspiration there as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

The kids just got back from vacation in Tennessee; first stop was the Natural Bridge:

And a few scenic overlooks of the Smoky Mountains:

And I am not quite sure what this had to do with anything!!! LOL!

Thankfully we have a couple more years before we can even THINK about this!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP699 Joanne's CAS Birthday

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess with an awesome CAS theme for us today---a quick, easy, Clean-and-Simple birthday!

This challenge gave me a chance to play with some new goodies!  Here we go:

I used Wanted to Say dies with Berry Burst glimmer paper and Fresh Freesia cardstock, then added a sweet little watercolored butterfly from Sketched Butterflies and mounted it on an impressively-embossed background using the Dotted Circles embossing folder:

I placed the embossing folder so that the center circle would be where the butterfly sat!  On the inside, I added a sentiment from Country Birdhouse and a few more butterflies in Berry Burst:

I hope you can find some time to play along with our Clean-and-Simple challenge this week! We always need birthday cards, so get some stamps, ink and paper and show us your easy cards!  Can't wait to see them over at the Paper Players!  Thanks for visiting! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Enjoying the Beach

Happy (late) Saturday, everyone!  I finally got my chores done today and had some time to stamp...lots of fun challenges out there this week!  I chose the FMS sketch, the Color Throwdown colors and the beach theme from As You See It:

I pulled out a bunch of different dies, cardstock and stamps and this is what I came up with:

I have always loved just walking along the beach, looking for shells!  When I was in about fourth grade, my grandmother brought me back from Florida a little shadowbox with a clear lid; inside were adhered several different shells, with their names underneath.  I was mesmerized by those shells and took them to many "Show & Tell" days at school!  They've long since disappeared but I remember them fondly!  Anyway, I diecut some shells, starfish, sand dollars and a seahorse from Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride and Soft Sky cardstocks for my little collage.  Each one was stamped with a texture-type stamp to give it a little more interest, and sponged around the edges.  I used the bubbles and seaweed from Sea Turtles along with a sentiment from Papertrey, and I added some pastel sequins as well.

A woman in the activities area in the retirement community where Dana works is retiring, and since they've had me there twice to do some stamping activities, I thought I'd send her a card!  I actually got to use the retirement stamp from Gone Fishing, too:

Fun card and fun sketch!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Mini Gift Card Holder

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I had an idea for a gift card holder and although this was just a "prototype", I thought I would share it anyway!  I am also entering it at Retro Rubber, where they have a color palette, and Krafty Chicks, where they're looking for Clean and Simple!

The stamps I am using are from Picture Perfect Birthday, which came out in 2018.  Here we go:

I started out by making a note-card sized card with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock....this was a challenge to me, because this is definitely not a color I use very often, LOL!  I made a little 3D "box", stamped some "ribbon" in Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist (they're actually candles) on the front, and stamped the bow in Balmy Blue and Lost Lagoon to attach at the intersection of the ribbons.  The top of the box is 2" x 3".  I also added a little tag with a sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs:

For some added texture, I added a panel of the same color, embossed with one of the Fun Patterns embossing folders.  Here's a side view of the box; you would need a special envelope, or maybe just an A4 envelope to accomodate the thickness.

On the inside, I added another sentiment from the same set and added an embossed pocket at the bottom in which to tuck a gift card or cash!

Again, this was just a prototype, so I'll be adjusting some dimensions and trying it again in the future!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Halfway through the week! I have a fun little Christmas card for you today; it uses the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch as well as the Color Hues palette of red and green:

And here we go:

I used images and the sentiment from the retired Little Treats, stamped in Real Red and Emerald Envy, then diecut and mounted on a scalloped frame.  The pine branch is from W+9.  I added an embossed layer of polka dots just for fun!

The inside was stamped with a sentiment from Wrapped in Christmas and another little ornament from the Little Treats set:

What a fun little sketch!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on hus throne at the right side of God.  Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth.  Colossians 3:1-2
