IB164 Hello Kitty

Hello peeps!  It's Thursday, and we have a new Inspired By challenge for you...since I just had a kitty challenge over at the Paper Players, I had to smile when this popped up!  Here we go:

And here's our optional sketch:

I realized that I do not have any whimsical kitty stamps like the photo...but I remembered a fun DSP 6x6 pad I had that had one wee little strip of kitty paper left in it!  PLUS I had just gotten some of these Whittle dies from Poppystamps and look what I found:

Yep, a cute little kitty!  So here we go:

It's a pretty simple card...layers of cardstock, a little sentiment from Here's a Card, some stitched borders and my little kitty!  My own "Hello Kitty"!  In hindsight, I should have added a little heart somewhere...oh well!  I know there are lots of fun kitty stamps out there, so I expect to see lots of fun creations this week!  Check out what the designers did at the Inspired By blog too...kitty cuteness for sure!  Thanks for popping in today!

To continue Cassidy's creative journey in making her friend's card, (you can see the start here), after peeling off her masked letters, the end result wasn't quite what she had anticipated.  I originally wanted to try to tell her she wouldn't get the effect she was looking for, but she is pretty stubborn, so I thought the best way to learn is to let her try and learn on her own:

Since she couldn't see the letters very well, she tried to outline them, which ended up being a disaster.  I told her this was a "trial run" anyway, so she decided to go in a different direction!  This time she wanted to create an ombre effect and she was very excited about using a brayer! We cut another set of letters and went to work:

She chose Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather for her colors:

Come back tomorrow to see the final product!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I often think how much fun it would be to be let loose in your craft room LeAnne! I'm glad you found the exact things you needed to make this sweet and colourful card.

Love seeing Cassidy getting crafty. I think learning from experience is definitely the best way and you get to discover new ideas as a bonus!

The best way to learn - although it can be disappointing. I guess we have to learn about disappointment. The Ombre effect is a wonderful effect and Cassidy has done a great job. The glitter idea certainly had potential - hope she gives it another go and you share with us. Thanks.

This is the cutest kitty, LeAnne! Love the matching kitty paper! Cassidy sounds like Jack. You have to just let them try. It's how I learned. Lots of not working out....still!
