Two Cards for Fun

Happy Friday, peeps!  I have two simple cards today, made while it snowing yesterday!!  It was only flurries, but it was a wee bit of a surprise, considering it's mid-April!  The first one is for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge; I was perusing my stamp sets, looking for one that hasn't been used in a while, and I came across Rooted in Nature.  I thought it would make a great masculine birthday card with their sketch:

And here we go:

I colored some watercolor paper with Granny Apple Green, Pear Pizzazz and Crushed Curry inks, then stamped the small leaf in Old Olive over top, and diecut them out with the Nature's Root dies.

I mounted them on squares of Very Vanilla, then mounted the squares on a Crumb Cake card base on which I stamped the larger tree, and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks EF!  My final addition was a sentiment from Label Me Bold, stamped in Mossy Meadow!

My second card is a bit more whimsical; it uses the FMS sketch:

and I pulled out some fun papers featuring milk caps from Carta Bella called Country Kitchen, and made this simple card:

I stamped a sentiment from a much-neglected PTI set called Friends Til the End in Poppy Parade, then "stitched" the edges:

I punched out one of the milk caps and gave it a couple of diecut borders....don't you love how realistic this looks?!  Love it!

Thanks so much for popping in today!

My brother gave us some tulips and narcissus from Longwood Gardens, so I shared them with Dana, and Cassidy went to work planting them!  I always joke that my dad was a farmer and my grandfather was a florist, but those green thumb genes didn't pass down to me!  Luckily, they seemed to have gone to Cass and Dana!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I love the background detail on the Rooted in Nature card but my heart belongs to those bottle tops! The embellishment is so realistic- they always make me think of the Boy Scout in the Disney movie ‘Up. I just love this card! Cassidy is doing a grand job of planting- it’s nice to be able to spend time in the garden whilst we are in lockdown, when it’s not snowing of course!!

Love how you treated the sketch. I agree with Joanne about the milk tops. Perry and I used to see them at the antique shops in Vermont. Fun memories of when the milk man used to deliver milk to our house. My father used to tease me that I was the milk man's daughter and I would reply, "then I'm the cream of the crop". He loved me to pieces...my father, not the milk man...lol.

I'm sorry about that snow, LeAnne … we had enough to cover the ground! But then, the sun came out, and it all went away within hours!
I hope this isn't one of those years where Spring never comes... love seeing Cassidy in the garden getting into that dirt!
LOve both cards... but you know that neutral loving heart of mine - so happy to have this lovely card in our CTS gallery!

Lovely to be stamping for fun LeAnne! The leaves are wonderful for the three elements in that sketch and I love that you stamped the tree as a background and embossed too. The other card is fabulous too - amazing paper with the bottle tops! Sorry to hear about the snow - NOT what you need! - but how lovely to see Cassidy out in the garden planting :)

Love that you put the subtle tree behind the trio of leaves, so pretty! Your second card is full of fun. My eye went right to the chocolate milk, what's up with that LOL!! It's been snowing here all day. Grass and rooftops are covered, but the road is clear. Hope it doesn't blow in your direction!
